Harriet Tubman had a truly inspiring and uplifting impact on the world. As you may know, Harriet Tubman was an escaped slave who was a major leader in the underground railroad system which aided slaves in escaping from the Southern states to Canada. According to Biography.com, she was not only an abolitionist, but she was a nurse in the Civil War and a Civil Rights activist. Some people may say that Harriet Tubman is a criminal who does not deserve the high honor in history because she was uneducated. Critics claim that Harriet Tubman should not have a high honor because she was uneducated, although, one cannot deny, Harriet Tubman displayed a high level of intelligence when she helped the slaves escape and when she was a conductor in the inventive system called the Underground Railroad. First of all, according to History.com, Harriet was a woman, a slave, and was black, she would not be able to receive an education in those times because the people did not believe that those people deserved one. Admittedly, she did not receive a proper education, so she may have been smarter if she had that knowledge that school taught you. However, Harriet was not even able to receive an education, and, for a woman who was not allowed an education, she was very intelligent and displayed a very high level of thinking.
