Without dehumanization, the Holocaust would not have affected the Jews the way it did. Dehumanization affected Hitler’s plan, how the Jews were treated and how they felt. When the Jews were dehumanized it played a big role in the Holocaust. The Jews were dehumanized because of the inhumane conditions and the brutal treatment they faced. The process of dehumanization began with taking the valuables the Jewish owned. The Jews were affected because they no longer had memories. “The beloved objects we had carried with us from place to place were left behind” (Wiesel 133).
