In the past 15 years of my life, I have not been able to make many major decisions, although I have been forced to make decisions that have affected my life in some negative ways. In September of 2014, I met a boy named Mark, at first I thought he was ok, but we were the only kids there, so we hung out the whole night. About a year went by and we never talked, but then he started bowling with my brother and during this time, we got into a few verbal fights. So it got to the point where I did not want anything to do with him. Another 6 months went by and our parents started talking and a few days after that, he messaged me over Facebook out of nowhere asking me if I would be his girlfriend. Apparently my mom encouraged him to ask me, even though she knew that I did not like him. Throughout the day, she basically told me that it was my choice, but I could hurt him and say no, so it really was not my choice. …show more content…
I told my mom multiple times that I did not like Mark and I wanted to go back home, but every time I did that, it always ended in a fight between us. Almost 8 months went by and I was still in a relationship with Mark. Eventually he pushed me way too far and I just had enough, so I completely quit talking to him, then a week after that, I got a text from him telling me that we were over. My mom was upset with me, but she got over it. Although I was still stuck living at his house. Now we have been living here for over a year and I spend 90% of my day in my room and every weekend at my grandparent’s house. I do not get along with any of the people here including my mom. So looking back, I wish I would have told him no and maybe the outcome would be different. I would still have a relationship with my mom, sleep in my own bed, go to church, have friends and play sports, although since I said yes that night, I have none of
Comparatively, by 1869, the railroad industry reconstructed the transportation of goods and people conveniently and securely across the United States of America (Schultz, 2016). Additionally, railroads helped to shape the western economy not only through it's more dependable means of transportation of goods but also to the new developments of towns located near its stations (Schultz, 2016). Historically, the transcontinental railroad began by the signing of the Pacific Railroad Act on July 1, 1862, by
None of this is your fault - The two boyfriends who hurt you emotionally and physically are to blame. Unfortunately, there's not a way you or your mother could have anticipated that events like this would happen.
I could not keep it inside any longer after a few months, so I told her. I told her that I did not think he was a good guy and that there was something just off about him. Of course, voicing my opinion to a teenage girl who really likes this guy was not the best decision. She got mad, and my opinion had basically lost. However, I did not keep quiet after I had lost the battle.
Eventually, my mom, my little brother, Sergio and I moved in together and that was the time when everything about me changed, I started disrespecting both Sergio and my mom. I really disliked him. I even started telling him he wasn't my father so I didn't have to listen to him and he was really hurt. At that point I didn't care because he was just some random guy dating my mother. My blood didn't run through his veins at
He would always want me to stay the night at his place but I wouldn’t so we would always argue about this. In my family point of view, and the tradition that lies within my family, it would not have been appropriate for me to stay over. I was not married to him and therefore have no reason to be staying at some ones else’s home when I have my own. He would not understand that this is just have things were in my family and I just was not use to the same customs as he
(Few years after) He decided to apologies for his actions and words. He had a better plan than before. This time he was holding me hostage. The way he did it was saying we were going to watch the fireworks.
I have been recently diagnosed with MS so I cannot fully describe how it has impacted my life but what I can tell you is how it will effect me and my future. Ever since I was involved in a car accident, the only thing I ever pictured myself doing was being an Police Officer, that is what I am going to study in college, I have taken coarses on Criminology, and I have talked with Police Officers who are currently employed in my local police department, all of these things I have done was to prepare me for my dream job. Unfortunately when I was diagnosed my doctor informed me that there was the possibility I would not be fit to be a Police Officer due to MS, when she told me that my heart broke a little bit because all I could think about was

Throughout this semester I have learned a lot of things in your political science that has impacted my life and to the things around me. Being a kid that grow up on a farm I have seen the ups and down that my family has to survive through. Then, have a family in the army fighting in Afghanistan made things hard and now have a cousin in the Air force make me thankful for the people that put their lives on the line and knowing that it could have been me. I was recruited to wrestle for West Point and the Air Force Academy but, I decide to come here and go into Agriculture Business Management. Being in an agriculture major has let me see the point of view what trade can do if tariffs are put on us.
AAVE Influence on life/Personal Experience I chose this topic to do more research to understand my own identity. As a college student writing an honors thesis and reading more literature, I think of SAE* and AAVE and how academic english task seem more difficult to me than it may be for an SAE* speaker. I picked this topic to learn more about how it can alter my academic success to learn if other Black people know what AAVE is and if they can identify how it alter their lives. Participants did see that AAVE changed their academic experience and had varying opinions of if it should be used in the classroom.
I agree full-heartedly with Thoreau's claim that "The price of anything is the amount of time you exchange for it." I think it holds a lot of truth. When doing anything you've got to consider is this worth my time? Will the outcome of what I'm doing be worth the struggle to achieve it? Definetaly something to think about when making big life choices.
Some of the things that have shaped me into the person that I’m today are my family, the people that I grow up around, some of the events In my life. There are many events that have shaped me in the the person that I’m today. Also the people that I have grown up around has dramatically helped shape me into the person I am. My family is one of the main things that have helped shape me into the person I’m today. One of my early memories are of my mom working and going to school at the same time to take care of eleven kid son her own. We also used two have a garden and we would go there everyday to take care of the plants. But my mom started to work all of the time so we were no longer aboul to go there so me and my sister made a garden in the back yard so that when my mom had time we could still garden. That is why one of my hobbies is gardening.
Growing up in a hard-working family where my parents had little education, choosing a career path seemed impossible and out of my reach. Being a first-generation Latina woman came with unwritten expectations that I had to succeed were my parents did not. As a young child in elementary, I enjoyed being part of the boys and girls clubhouse, which helped to instill a strong interest in teamwork. After graduating from high school, I became interested in dental assistance but soon realize my interest went beyond dental terminology. During community college I was introduced to clinical psychology and was immediately fascinated by Sigmund Freud’s unique ideas.
At first, I refused... but in the end I gave him the
Management is a term that was derived from the French word menager, meaning “to use carefully,” and the Italian word maneggiare, meaning “to handle,” and was originally applied to horse training. Contemporary management is an ongoing process by which managers create, direct and maintain organizations through coordinated human effort to ensure that their organization’s resources are used appropriately to attain the highest level of performance and productivity. It is the fundamental integrating process designed to achieve organized, purposeful and meaningful results. Management is working with and through individuals or groups to accomplish organizational goals (Book, #). In recent years, management has evolved from the manager being the sole governance of the organization to a more team-oriented approach (Book, #). An understanding of management can help ensure continuity, promote good human relations and contribute to increased performance.
