With personalized learning everyone would be successful. There would be no need for kids to drop out from school, especially dealing with college students. Every year there are several college drop outs due to stress and depression. With personalized learning students wouldn't have to worry about learning at a quick pace therefore, putting full effort while showing true results into their work because subjects have to due with their personal interest. Truthfully, if schools were to put effort into educating kids with classes that actually mattered to them then the country would strive more. Rather than having drop outs there would be more opportunities for students to find a career they actually like. Personalized learning would give students,
Some would argue that since our current system is working, why should changes be made? Not only will adding various ways of learning into each classroom benefit both student and teacher, but it will redefine the teaching process
The main courses that we are taught throughout elementary and high school are English, Math, Science, and Social Studies. While those subjects are important, not everyone will use those studies throughout their lifetime, whereas if they taught subjects like balancing a checkbook, how to fill out job applications and write a resume, how to do an interview, first aid, and so many other skills, everyone would carry that with them and find that information useful after they get out of high school.
You would need to hire a specialist to go over the tests results. Those specialists would then need to analyze what would best be suited for each type of kid. To determine what method would be best, you would need to put each student in a certain type or classification. These types could never encompass every child so it would defeat the purpose of a personalized education because they would once again be put in a box and expected to learn that way. Not to mention hiring these specialists would be very expensive because schools could not hire just anyone to go over the data, they would need to have someone who knew what they were looking for. The schools would also be unable to hire just one person and expect them to do all of the work, so you would need to employ several of these people (“Information, not
For the past few years in America, the people have seen how much education has decreased in the country. The people are not educated well enough in a specific subject, and that is the biggest problem in society. Students go to school five days a week, and they take some classes that honestly are not needed nor will be needed in the future. If someone wants to be a Psychiatrist, why do students need to know what X is in an Algebra 2 problem? Students should take the classes and courses needed to pursue the students wanted career and not just a class to take up their time and effort.
students not having to wear uniforms has its benefits. Parents would not have to go out every few
The United States, schooling system is failing to provide a well rounded educational future of the millennial generation and the generations to come. Why are traditional public schools failing to successfully graduate a diverse number of students? Students of all backgrounds should graduate being able to go into the workforce or secondary schooling successfully. Changing traditional high schools to career-based schools could help education flourish, access to career-based high schools could help lower the dropout rate, allow students to truly enjoy school, and allow all students to have the same opportunity in life.
There is definitely a need for some type of education. In my school, students would start school at the age of five, and go until they are at least eighteen. They school would also have a different schedule every day, so students don’t get tired of the same classes
On the contrary students were only responsible for paying for the classes they did not pass. Not only would this increase the need to study hard and prepare for courses, education would much more accessible to people of all economic statuses. The air quality is much better and free of toxins all around the planet and sun rays are not cancer causing risks. Ocean life isn’t constantly being threatened since littering is not a problem in this wonderland. Much like in Bellamy’s utopia people act civil amongst each other and help each other to prosper, versus always being combative and having the constant need to one up each other.
This unit aims to enable learners to understand the learning process and to give them the skills they need to
I strongly feel that the classroom should be ruled democratically. I feel that each child should have a vote in what the rules should be, and what they in general would like to learn. I believe they should set educational goals for the class, and help determine how these goals should be achieved. I feel that by using Project-based
By creating the opportunity for students to go to any school they choose, all schools would have to strive to be the best. Schools that did not provide an education that was up to par would flounder. This competition could drive the quality of education to an all-time high, which would greatly benefit the students. Also, creating a choice in which school to attend would increase diversity in the classroom (Helping Leaders”). In allowing students to attend private schools with much more ease, there would be a mixing of ethnicity, religion, intelligence, and any number of other variables found in the student population. Not only would this facilitate the learning of ‘soft skills’, but also allow students more life experience by interacting with students unlike themselves. Granting school vouchers may not be a completely positive action.
I believe our crime rates would be lowered in the communities. Younger teens would be occupied with school and apart from things that will get them murdered, locked up or in trouble. Because of education, our children would have something to look forward to and work towards their goals. Parents would be able to invest more in their children, because of free education. Those who are less fortunate would get the education they need for better paying jobs so that they can give back to their communities. President Obama said that he would propose a government
I look at my children and they love school. They get to participate in art, music, and technology classes. Even though my experience was not nearly as exciting I am so glad that my children enjoy learning. I know that they will have the chance at a brighter future because of the opportunities they are given. I would never want to withhold something from my children because I did not have it and I cannot imagine teaching with a similar mindset. How would the world ever progress if people felt that way?
Kids would be less energetic in class. We could have five minutes in between class, to go to the bathroom and talk to friends. Kids won't have to go to the bathroom in the middle of class. Have you ever been in class trying to listen and the kid next is jumping up and down because the he has to go to the bathroom?
With the realization that not every child is the same, or learns the same as another, teachers need to take the steps necessary to ensure that their students are all getting educational opportunities that work the best for them. The idea of personalized learning has been around for quite some time, yet not all teachers seem to have the same understanding of what it is and how it works. The article “What is ‘Personalized Learning’? Educators Seek Clarity”, mentions three important aspects of the problem; an outline of the general solution, emphasizes “essential elements”, and brings the problem into the hands of students. Teachers need to have a basic understanding on how to personalize their students learning because every child learns differently from the next.
