The book I read was Hoot. It was created by Carl Hiaasen in 2002, and won a Newberry Honor 2003. The story starts out with Roy being bullied on the bus by a large, unruly enemy named Dana Matherson. Dana had mushed his face against the bus window when he saw a odd boy, running bare foot on the street. He decided to chase the boy, but Dana kept grabbing him, he punched Dana so hard that it breaks his nose. Roy then ran but got hurt by a golf ball and forfeit. Roy recently moved to Florida from Montana, which he was sad about, his father worked in the Federal Department of Justice, and he has moved to 6 different places for his job. Montana was Roy's favorite. Meanwhile, Coconut Cove is getting a new pancake house from Mother Paula's company. …show more content…
He went into the forest and Mullet Fingers marches him out. He asked a girl at school, Beatrice Leep, about this. Beatrice threatened him. Later, she befriended him and told Mullet Fingers about him.
Curly, who had been trying to fix the property, had Officer Delinko write a report on the vandalism. Officer Delinko fell asleep in his cruiser, and his car got spray painted by a mysterious person, probably Mullet Fingers. Other bizarre things had happened there. A example would be alligators in port-a-potties, along with the acts of vandalism happening there. Officer Delinko got punished by having his cruiser taken away for a month and put on desk duty.
Beatrice brings Roy to Mullet Finger's hide-out near the golf course. There, he was hiding in a truck with a sign that said “Jo Jo's Ice Cream and Sno Cones”. Mullet Fingers then tells Roy about his mission. Mullet Fingers wanted to stop the building of Mother Paula's All American Pancake House because of the owls. Mullet Fingers continued vandalizing the

Roy stayed at his desk, and Mr. Ryan, his teacher went with him to the bus. Dana got stopped by Mr. Ryan, and got stopped. Roy tried again to apologize to Dana. He got stopped and got hurt by Dana, until Roy convinces her to stop because Roy convinced her of a secret: cigarettes in Mother Paula's lot.
Curly, on his first attempt to stop the vandals, contacted a German man called Kalo. He had rented 3 guard dogs, but when Kalo came, while they negotiated, Kalo saw there were snakes in the lot, with a sparkly tail. Kalo then left because he did not want the dogs to get bit because they were expensive.
Curly had decided he had to spend the night in the trailer at the construction site to attempt to stop the vandals. Later in the story, Dana Matherson gets caught trespassing and gets sent to a detention center. He was after the Gladiator Golds, which Dana got out of Roy when Dana was beating him
Dalton's experiences growing up reflect many of the theories we covered during class. Early on he has little concept of what race is and considers himself part of the neighborhood in which he is growing up. Everyone around him is either

Louie’s brother, Pete, then told the principal that Louie should be allowed to join a sport, and that maybe he would focus on his running and not be such a troublemaker. The principal agreed and Louie joined track.
What inspired the author to write a book about such a crazy thing? My book is called “ Hideout” by Watt Key. This book was published on January 10, 2017. It was published by Farrar, Straus, and Giroux (BYR). It also has 320 riveting pages that won't let you put the book down! This is my absolute favorite book ever and is full of mystery and edge.
After reading 80 pages of, “Skud,” by Dennis Foon, I felt motivated by the actions and determination shown by the main characters of the story, especially Andy. In the book, all the characters had a goal or objective and worked hard to reach that goal. Although most people would not advise someone to center their life around one certain thing, I think that when one finds a purpose or objective in life they should always do their best to reach this goal regardless of what others say or thinks of it. In the book, Andy dream was to become a popular actor.Although the possibility of getting cast is low and although he was hurt and unwell, Andy still went to the audition because of that small possibility. After reading about this, I felt determined and motivated by actions like this.
In the film, it’s Roy’s father whom tells Roy to do the same actions. In the novel, when Officer Delinko’s police car was spray-painted as an act of rebellion, he was sleeping in a restaurant parking lot and was awoken by his boss to talk about the incident. However, in the film, the whole scene at the restaurant was cut out and went directly to Officer Delinko confronting his boss in his office. Officer Delinko is an officer in the Coconut Cove police department. He is described as being "young" and "loyal" by his boss and his dad. He is the leading, as known as only officer investigating the vandalism at the Mother Paula's All-American Pancake House construction site, though his personal items, such as his police squad car begin to be vandalized as well. Along with this particular incident, when Officer Delinko’s police car was spray-painted in the novel, he was given a replacement squad car for the amount time that it would take for repairs to be completed and during the film, he was given a “golf cart type” vehicle to drive until his personal car was finished being repaired. During the film, when Roy had claimed to had been bitten by a vicious dog, he told the staff his name was Ling Ho, but in the book his told them his name was Tex. In both stories, the hospital later found out that he had been faking the scenario and was released back into his parents’ custody. One major flaw within the novel plot was it was
ZAPP The Lightning of EMPOWERMENT, by William C. Byham Ph.D. and Jeff Cox presents a story of different problems that managers/supervisors face and how they deal with the problems. The book shows how an autocratic supervisor would deal with a problem compared to a participative supervisor would handle the problems. The story shows the contrast between a supervisor that ZAPPS (empowers) her employees and a supervisor that SAPPS his employees by his interactions and management style with the employees.

His bedroom was his favorite place to be so that he was able to hide from Ursula most of the time. He was terrified of Ursula and knew of the affair that was occurring between her and his father while his mother was at work. There was a night where he was able to escape while his father and Ursula were having sexual intercourse. He ran to the Hempstock farm where he was just able to make it before he was caught. The Hempstocks took care of him and helped him as well with removing the wormhole that was left in his foot by Ursula before she came into his life. Ursula was then confronted by the Hempstocks, Lettie, and the narrator; they gave her the opportunity to leave on a peaceful note so that there would be less danger in the future for her. Ursula believed that there was nothing that could ever harm her but little did she know there would be varmints which were wild animals that would try to eat her like a
