The Honors Student Association has provided me with some of the best opportunities that I have experienced in my college career here at UNO. I had the pleasure of attending the events the association created, broadening my relationship with other students in the Honors Program, and strengthen some of my own personal skills. It is because of all these elements that I want to further my involvement in the association. I learned the necessary steps in what it takes to create and host an event; I was also able to work closely with other representatives and officers where I was able to see what it takes to hold a position on the executive board. Another aspect that makes me well suited for this position are the skills that I have acquired, many which are beneficial for the future successes of this association. One of the most important qualities is my dedication. This is crucial because I will not stop my efforts toward a task even if it becomes challenging. I will ensure that the task is completed on time and meets the expectations of the members. Another attribute that will help further the success of the association is my ambition. Providing service to other students and community members is a huge part of my life. It is important to me that this association continues to succeed. Being inducted into National Honors Society requires a student to demonstrate all of the four qualities many of our role models in the present and in the past have possessed, which include: scholarship, service, leadership and character. As a student of The Pennsylvania State University, I have spent time observing my peers on a day to day basis. I understand what kinds of students are needed in this organization. In order to meet the request, I tried my best to stand up in the areas of scholarship, leadership, character and service. For academy, I am a passionate student who likes facing challenges. I maintain a G.P.A of 4.0 for two years, and became the top 2 students in my Biology, Algebra II, ESL, Honor Pre-calculus classes. I am also a math purple team member and attended the state math competition.
I am very grateful for the opportunity to apply for membership to the Anselmo-Merna National Honor Society. I am excited to take on a greater leadership role in my school and community. The National Honor Society is known for creating individuals that will strive to show exemplary character in and out of the classroom now and for future years to come. Qualifying for National Honors Society is a great honor and is the apotheosis of my highschool career. As a highschool student in arduous honors classes, I am faced with challenges on a daily basis that might discourage me from achieving my goals in life. Because high school can be rigorous and stressful at times, I have realized how these hindrances should be the reason for me to persevere towards greatness and to learn who I truly am.
