One of the problems at hand that not only us, in the United States have but, all around the world in different countries have, is homeless people.
According to Social Solutions there are 564,708 people in the United States that are homeless as of 2016. 15% of the homeless are chronically homeless, which means an individual who has disability and has experienced homelessness for a year or longer. 35% are families who can’t afford housing, 8% of the homeless are veterans due to poverty and overcrowding in government housing, and the rest of the homeless are single young adults who either got rejected for being who they are or there was conflict and they ran away.( Social Solutions) The National Alliance to End Homelessness explains, ‘Homeless youth are less likely to spend time in the same places as homeless people who are in an older age range. They are often less willing to disclose that they’re experiencing homelessness or may not even identify as homeless. They also may work harder to try to blend in with peers who aren’t homeless.’ (The National Alliance to End Homelessness).
So even though people don’t see homeless young adults as often as they see middle age ones or older, they’re there, they just try to blend in as one of their “peers.” Compare to 2014 the USA is doing great. If we have more people to help at least one homeless person to get back on their feet, soon there will be less and less homeless. And it’s just the little things that could help a person, for example let a homeless person take a shower at a hotel or gym if a person is staying there for a little while or if they’re about to leave, donate clothes to them, people can even give them a little bit of pocket money and it would help. A person doesn’t need to give a thousand dollars, an eye and pearl neckless to help a homeless person, just the little thing could
