PURPOSE
Our purpose in life is to serve God. Jesus gave us the Great Commission at the end of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. Matthew 28: 16-20 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
In The Purpose Driven Life, Rick Warren writes that “our first purpose in life is to:
Worship, to know and love God;
Fellowship, learning how to love;
Growing into spiritual maturity, becoming like Christ, discipleship;
Serve God by

Paul told Timothy, “Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this.” 2 Timothy 2:7

“We are God 's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Eph. 2:10 “Your hands shaped me and made me.” Job 10:8
God equips us with Spiritual gifts, a heart, abilities, personality and experiences to help others. “Each one should use whatever gift he’s received to serve others.” 1 Peter 4:10 Jesus: “Your attitude must be like My own, for I did not come to be served, but to serve...” Matthew 20:28
Serving Jesus means being available.
“Two blind men... shouted, ‘Lord, have mercy on us!’ ... Jesus stopped and called them. ‘What do you want Me to do for you?’ He asked.” Matthew 20:30-32 “Never tell your neighbors to wait until tomorrow if you can help them now.” Proverbs 3:28
“Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand.” Philippians 2:4
“No servant can serve two masters... You cannot serve both God and money.” Luke 16:13
Serving Jesus means being grateful.
“Jesus looked up and said, "Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. I knew You always hear Me, but I said this for the benefit of the people
God’s graceful offer is for his faithful children who are willing to conciliate with Him; however, there have been the wicked in this society exploiting the precious gift of God for their own sakes. Being highly selfish and overly concerned about their worldly comforts, those do not hesitate to be heinous in their acts and then make their own justification for their wrongdoings, that all human-beings are sinful, and Jesus will save them all no matter what they did. Jesus, however, is righteous and intelligent enough to recognize these unconscionable strategies. In regard to such strategies, Jesus once said that, “Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’”(Matthew 7:23, the New International Version) Although most members of the human civilizations have not been righteous over the course of history, God want men to have good deeds to preclude the world from wars and hysterias. Romans 12 and the Sermon on the Mount are the two books which provide the readers the most basic and meaningful moral behaviors, which are always yearning for righteousness, not killing the others, not being maledictory, and upholding the serenity among
This week assignment was very interesting and fascinating. We are all born with gifts and talents. Having God-given gifts inside us that has the power to give life, direction, and purpose. First Peter 4:10 says” As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of Gods varied grace”. God works in different ways in each of us.
Paul begins his letter by saying he is an apostle not from men nor through man, but Jesus
God called you to be a servant to others. Use your gifts and talents to influence and develop
1. Galatians 6:10 “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith” (King James Version).
“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.” -Matthew 25:35
He has given me the understanding that to love Him is to love others and to serve Him is to serve others. He has called me to be His ambassador; to
We may not know our gifts when our time on Earth is ended; however, it does not mean that we passively pray for God to show us without making the change. It is an honor as saints of God to have the responsibilities to teach the Gospel to the world. Now that my ancestors, grandparents, and parents have lived out their lives, it is my turn to carry the torch. Whether we know our gift or not, we must continue living for God. As a result, false teachings and deceptive people cannot separate the unity of God’s Church on Earth nor shake our faith (Ephesians 4:13-14). We must mature to avoid destruction. With God’s help, our world can live in a new millennium where love, peace, compassion, and unity eradicates hatred, violence, and division within our families, churches and
He then proceeds to state “From the moment that human beings first stared into the sky, contemplated their place in the universe, and tried to create something that bettered the world and outlasted their lives, we have been purpose seekers.” This leads to the conclusion that purpose is believed to motivate people to do something that is beyond themselves as a person. Purpose; the reason for which something is done or created. No one can have a fulfilling life without feeling like they’ve lived because they followed something bigger than themselves. There are two types of purposes in life, (Which I’ll get into later.)
The Christian world view on life meaning and purpose is basic and yet different from other world views. Our main resolution in life is to work for God and have a strong connection with him at all times. First and foremost God desires to come first, and all else will tumble into place as long as we believe in him and have complete faith in him also. It is printed that we can only have one master (Matthew 6:24) and for that reason, God believes that serving him must be the highest significant thing for us to do with our period here on earth. that he must always do what God wants him to do, for there is no limit to what
The Bible tells us that man was newborns, children, and adults are all here by the grace of God. Yes, as humans we add meaning and purpose to our life. However, our main purpose from day one is to worship him. (126)
The main message of Rick Warren the purpose driven life is to help believers understand the larger aspects of you live and the world. In the novel, Warren says, “you will know God’s purpose for your life and will understand the big picture – how all the pieces of your life fit together.” This shows readers what the author want the them to take away from the book. Just as people take God’s word in many different way, this book can be received in ways that appeal or help the reader due to their circumstance. Through its unconventional formatting, the novel can be interpreted many different ways.
Isaiah 43:21 reveals God’s purpose in creating us; to give Him praise through worship. As a leader/minister, preaching the gospel, teaching, providing an environment conducive to growth and flourishing, reproducing the character of Christ, and leading others to worship and delight of God is my real responsibility. Matthew 28:19-20 says, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the ages.”
Why are we here? What is our purpose? If man is looking for a purpose, then is he saying
