Within my time in school, the multimedia resources available to the education community has multiplied greatly. When I first arrived at my current school in middle school, most of the teachers did not even have a television in their classroom. Now, the majority of the classrooms are outfitted with projectors and interactive SMART Boards. It is amazing to see how much this has influenced the way teachers teach and the assignments they hand out. Currently, teachers at my school have limited their projector use primarily to notes and movies. Both of which are, of course, beneficial. For example, a History Channel reenactment of the Civil War can demonstrate history lesson better than a lecture can. However, there are so many other potential ways
With the explosion of technological advances in the 21st century comes the increased need for the incorporation of technology in the educational field. The classrooms in America can all benefit from the use of technology to increase the understanding of academic content whether in the general education or special education setting.
Today we are in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, enjoying this incredible Civil War reenactment which was recommended by many hobbyists to the city governor. They do this once every year In commemoration of various of their respected heroes and ancestors. Majority of the people here present are elders, for they have a closer relation to this war.
For those of you who are in some manner connected to Allegany and for those who have an interest in history, there is a coming opportunity for you. From September 19th to September 25th, the Allegany County History Week will occur, and on September 24-25th, a civil war reenactment will occur in Wellsville.
Technology of the past 20 years has become a focal point of teaching and learning. As a teacher, it is my job to facilitate the learning for an individual by creating an environment that not only conducive for learning, but also places the child in a position to discover and learn them for themselves. Technology has given teachers to opportunity to take learning beyond the classroom, and has begun to reshape their role in the learning process.
Two important aspects of using technology in the classroom to promote learning are included in our text. They are:
A leader must first of all be able to model the techniques and processes that they want their teachers to employ with the students. For this reason leaders should use an effective board spectrum of educational tools to help teachers reach students of the 21st century. One of the great tools being used today is the increase in the amount of technology used in the classroom. From iPad to chromo books to cellphones teachers are using these forms of technology to enhance and deliver grade level curriculum (Korach, Agans 2011 216-233).
Education has evolved by leaps and bounds since the first appearance of the modern pencil in 1795. Today’s classroom’s are utilizing laptops, cellphones, tablets and multiple social media platforms.
Technology has dramatically influenced our modern day culture in several ways; we now operate completely different compared to the past. In fact, it can be shown in many tasks that we very rarely complete a simple operation without the use of technology. For example, washing dishes, heating food, doing our homework, and even communication are all examples of how technology has evolved simple tasks. Even furthermore, technology has changed the way education has been taught and received in American classrooms. However, technology was not always so highly advanced in American schools. In fact, a classroom in the 1950’s had little to no technology; one would find blackboards, chalk, handouts, and quite possibly a film-strip projector. However, even the “advancement” of a film-strip projector required much work, due to the fact that many teachers were obligated to travel great distances to retrieve a film-strip for the projector (Cuban, Larry). On the contrary, things have significantly changed in the 21st century American classroom. In truth, it is extremely common to see laptops, televisions, and other cutting-edge technology in a significant amount of today’s public schools. Although the evolution of technology within the classroom has created several conflicting ideas and opinions, technology is actually continuing to increase in classrooms every day and does not seem to decrease any time soon. Unsurprisingly, technology has drastically changed the way American classrooms
As technology has advanced, so has education. Most of the changes have been beneficial in the classroom, such as computers, Internet, tablets, smartboards, but others have also deterred
As technology continues to grow throughout our modern society, it starts to become incorporated more frequently in several different aspects of our lives. In particular, technology is growing vastly in regards to educational purposes. In every classroom in today's society, some form of technology is used each day, regardless of the grade level.
The way we teach students in the modern classroom has massively changed throughout the years. One major changing factor is the development and use of technology. Before, classrooms were filled with paper, pencils, crayons, and all things needed to be completely hands on with our education. Now, most classrooms have replaced these things with tablets and laptops and smart boards that students get to spend all day staring at. Technology has the potential to be a great thing for our students, but it is being used to the point that it is no longer helpful.
There are so many avenues to experience by using technology from research to presentation. For example, the use of classroom-to-classroom video chatting, such as a debate between two classes on a particular subject, can help students learn in a quicker manner and help them understand the topic at a higher degree. The use of iPads early on in elementary school and the introduction to computers that many children don’t receive would be beneficial later on in life. In today’s society, technology is used extensively in the workforce. Having the proper up-to-date technology can help the student better succeed and stay on top of the growing world. Utilization of technology will now prepare students for a better future. Schools should provide more ways to use technology in order to prepare students for a better
Today’s education differs much from the education fifty years ago. One of the reasons they are so different is because of technology. In the past fifty years the world of technology has grown tremendously, affecting everything, including education. A few things that have been brought into the world of education are computers, video and digital equipment such as DVDs, digital cameras and recording devices. The technology also includes information presentation technologies which includes the Smart Board, and different interactive whiteboards. There are many more that schools did not have fifty years ago.
Students throughout the 21st century can, without doubt, say that technology has been a part of their learning environment for a very long time. Which of course is true being that technology started to be placed throughout schools across the nation for the past 20-30 years. As students in the modern era, we have been taught through the use of technology, making educational goals attainable through various technology models. This includes computers, iPads, smart boards, projectors and even simple paper and pencils.
Across the U.S., technology used in education has been increasing exponentially. Every learning institution ranging from elementary school to college have incorporated technology into their teachings. Online textbooks, quizzes, notes, and classes are all examples of how education has been utilizing technology. While technology has a place in education, not everything in education needs to involve technology.
