How do two seemingly very different Americans both desire to become the leader of the greatest country? While Real Estate mogul Donald Trump and lawyer by trade Hillary Clinton have striking differences, they also share similarities. College students often find it difficult to become interested in politics. However, after the first few years’ students learn to become interested due to that affecting them more once they are in the “real world”. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are to prime examples. They are often compared because of their party affiliation, experience, and campaigning styles. To illustrate, Donald Trump is a Republican whereas Hillary Clinton is a Democrat. The comparison between the two political groups and positions of the Democratic and Republican parties are, taxes, immigration, gun control, healthcare, abortion, role of the government, and many more. Trump believes that we should increase spending for military issues where Clinton believes we should decrease spending. The Republican Party oppose gay marriage and think abortion should not be legal, unlike Democrats, they support gay marriage and think abortion should remain legal. Liberals …show more content…
Clinton won her first election to the U.S. Senate because of her husband, Bill Clinton. She served for an eight-year term in congress and was the Secretary of State for four years. Donald Trump is a business man who has never held a position in an elected office. As said above, Clinton has more experience than Trump. Trump lacks professionalism due to not having any type of experience dealing with politics. Trump was wanting to change how everything was going to run whereas Clinton was not interested in change. She had the idea of moving things towards her liking. In a like manner, Clinton and Trump can set goals and achieve them. But more importantly, containing honesty and being trustworthy are weak points for both
The democratic and republican platform differ vastly and have some agreements. For instance, the democratic party believes in decreasing military spending while republicans prefer to increase the spending. Also, democrats support the idea of abortion and Roe v. Wade while republicans oppose of this idea with a few exceptions. Economically, the democratic supports the idea of increasing tax rates for those in a certain high income range while republicans do not support the increase of taxes for anyone, including the wealthy. A major similarity between the two parties is foreign policy. The majority of these voters believe the US should lower the budget for foreign aid.
The two canadities I picked are Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush. Hillary Cinton is a Democrat who is running for president. Some of her strengths are she has nearly one hundred percent name recogntition. She also has a built in base of support among working class women. Her strongest supporters are working class women. Other strong supporters are people who were big fans of Bill Clinton when he was in office. Some weakness she has iss trying to appeal to the coalition of blacks and young college educated white voters who supported obama. She also declared her presidency in 2007 but was defeated by Barrack Obama. She also needs to be able to represent the future and not the past. Also she’s a trained attorney; former secretary of State in the Obama administration; former senator from New York; and former
Republicans want to limit the number of social programs and encourage the individual states to be more active in their own social welfare. Democrats feel that more government is better, where the Republicans feel that the individual states should have more power. Democrats favor gun control legislation most of the time. Republicans do not seem as interested in that issue, and many Republicans can be viewed as pro gun advocates. Democrats favor affirmative action for minorities and women. Republicans favor helping the entrepreneur and tend to give tax breaks to big business. Democrats champion the cause of labor unions, while Republicans realizing that union votes are important, at the same time feel that labor unions have too much power and cost big business too much money. The next set of political differences about the issues of capital punishment and abortion rights are quite paradoxical. Democrats favor a woman’s right to choose, at the same time they are against the death penalty and want to rehabilitate prisoners. Republicans, many of them are pro-life as well as in favor of capital punishment and being tough on crime. Democrats want the government to be more involved in public education, and want more money dispersed for student loans. Republicans want the states to take the responsibility for educating their children and also want to provide vouchers as an alternative to public school. This issue is also tied to how Republicans are
The presidential candidates this election season are a lot more interesting than in years past. Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton are both different in their own ways. Donald Trump has never held any form of a political office. On the other hand, Hillary Clinton, has held political positions for many years and her husband was the President of the United States. If either of them is elected it would be the first time the president has been a lot of things. First, if Hillary Clinton is elected President it would be the first time a woman has held the position of Commander and Chief. If Donald Trump is elected, he would be the first outsider with no political experience to be President. Trump is a successful business man, owning and operating several
The 2016 political campaign has shown a series of debates and commentaries that tend to show the different personalities or character of each candidate: Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Each candidate has his or her own rhetoric way in trying to grasp an individual’s vote. Hillary, for example, uses her role as a woman to try to convince women that she’s on their side. Donald Trump, on the other hand, uses the fact that he’s a business man to try to assure constituents that he has a plan to lower the national debt; though, that is not all Trump does to get the public’s attention.
Barack Obama and George W. Bush have to be the most controversial presidents in history so far. They have a lot in common but also have many differences. Barack Obama is a Democrat while George W. Bush is a Republican, but the biggest differences between the two are the background which they came from; Bush came from money while Obama lived in middle class and was raised by his grandmother. Bush was a first lieutenant in the air force and when he finished that he returned home to take over his father’s oil company. Through it all, both candidates are determined and in good physical shape. They are also almost the same age with Trump being older by a year and a couple of months. The contenders have mutual outcast positions, Clinton becoming the first female to run for presidency and Trump being a stranger to politics. Their personalities are also very dissimilar; the man has been a troublemaker since a young age. Contracting, Clinton who has continuously operated within the system regardless of the complications in a system that is under enemy control. Trump is powerful and recognize with his father’s professional ethics, while Clinton found her curiosity in politics just like her father at an early

The issue of Donald Trump versus Hilary Clinton is an issue of facing two evils but having to choose a lesser evil. In reality though, Donald Trump would be a better president as compared to Hilary Clinton. He is a straight forward candidate, rich, older, and some may view him as being even wiser. He fits in well with the American system of big money politics since he is a popular billionaire who flies around in his helicopter without hiding his wealth and voters in recent past have said that they love nature of telling it how it is and they also respect his ballsy nature. This is in direct contrast with his opponent Hilary Clinton, who is good at hiding her wealth, riches, and beliefs. The Clinton’s are estimated to have a fortune in excess of 100 million dollars and some people like to portray Hilary as a liberal hope, including a number of activists and academics titled “feminists for Clinton” but reality is that "she is a significantly dangerous white feminist woman"
Throughout history many Presidential candidates have had many different views on ways to solve a problem within America. While there are two candidates that stuck out the most to me in 2015 elections. Those two candidates are Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. Their views on how to solve the problem with Isis has brought great interest to me. First to inform you of some things about these two. Hillary Clinton is running as a Democrat for America meaning she is an advocate or supporter of democracy. Donald Trump is running as a Republican also meaning he is a person advocating or supporting republican government. Additionally, you would come to find out that Hillary Clinton
Trump has better views on the U.S economy and how to make it better or as he says “make America great again”. Trump knows how to handle money, he has a lot of it, he runs his own businesses. As it states in the article What’s at Stake, it says Trump is telling voters that he will use his business skills to change the economy and make America great again. Clinton doesn’t seem like she wants to fix. She has ideas on increasing minimum wage to $12 an hour. She doesn’t make any comments in the news article about fixing the economy. Trump knows how to handle money so that is one way why I believe he is the better candidate.
With the 2016 Presidential Election approaching, the citizens of the United States of America have chosen Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump as presidential candidates. The two competitors have been receiving quite a lot of attention from the media, exposing the controversies that they have been involved in. Some voters will focus on and base their votes off of these controversies rather than how each candidate will handle the United States’ problems. However, it is essential for voters to be aware of what each nominee will work towards in their four years of having power over our nation. The people should be informed of the stance of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump on the important issues that affect them and the country. By being knowledgeable about each candidate’s vision for America, voters will be able to analyze the pair of nominees and the actions that they will take to advance the U.S.
