President Emy Roux called the meeting at 7:00pm by ringing the Key Club Bell. She led us to reciting the American, Texan, and Key Club pledge and finished the introduction with a short prayer for the success of our meeting and social.
The first topics to be discussed were the regular service hours for this week. She first covered Animal Shelter hours this Tuesday. Volunteer hours would be held 4:30-5:30pm and only five members are allowed to volunteer to prevent overcrowding of the Animal Shelter. Then she went over our other weekly service project, Harvest House. Volunteering at the Harvest House would be held this Wednesday as usual from 4-6pm with a maximum of eight volunteers.
Next, she reminded us that we were volunteering at Santa's Workshop this Saturday, December 12th in the high school commons. At the workshop we will be handling several craft stations for the children participating. Our stations will be a cup stacking game and create snowflakes. To volunteer for the workshop, members must sign up for hour shifts during the workshop. The service for the workshop will start at 8:30am and end at 12pm. In addition to that day, we will also have Bell Ringing service opportunities at Hobby Lobby. Once again volunteers must sign up for one hour shifts

All those who brought a gift stood in a large circle. Then Jiya, who was standing in the middle, read a short story that contained the use of left and right often. While Jiya was reading the story everyone in the circle had to pass their gifts left or right depending on which direction would be heard in the story. It was a very amusing game with lots of laughs as we tried to keep up the fast pace story. After the activity finished, lots of pictures of interesting gifts and ugly sweaters were taken. To finish the social, all our members and officers took a group picture with the kid's bikes we were able to raise money
The meeting was called to order promptly at 7 PM by Board President Steve Ehrlich. There were
Saturday I was working the volunteer session from 9a to about 3:30pm. After the session was over, I prepared close to 30 invitation letters to city and county officials in Washoe, Storey, Lyon, Churchill, and Carson City. We are inviting them to attend the poverty simulation during the agency conference at the end of September. I got those printed and sign so they could be mailed out Monday morning. Because it is common for some government organizations to take substantial time off in August, I wanted those letters out as early as possible to give time for them to plan. Reminder emails or post cards will be sent in at the end of August.

This last Monday I had the opportunity to volunteer at the Harvest Table in Brookings SD. It was a wonderful and eye-opening experience. Anna and I had planned to do a fun leaf activity where children could color over leaves on paper or use paint to stamp the leaves on paper.
As a diverse student, in a very low income community I have always been known to standing up for others, as well as for myself. Having this natural drive i found myself taking a huge role in our high school Beta Club. As a natural leader, I was challenged with the opportunity to represent our high school’s Beta Club Chapter while running for North Carolina Beta Secretary. Although I felt experienced as a leader, I was really nervous to get up in front of all of North Carolina and give a speech at the Beta Club convention. Although I was nervous, I opened my mouth, and the words just began to come out. My fears went away, and I addressed everyone on topics of educational improvements and opportunities for all students to succeed. I used this
At the social we had a D.J., we played corn hole and sang karaoke, some people fished, and some played volleyball. For the chili cook off portion we had all of our alumni members bring a pot of chili to be judged. Once the judging was finished and our president announced the winner, we all ate. We also grilled hot dogs for the people who did not want chili. After we all got done eating our advisors lit the fire and the marshmallow roasting began. We made s’mores and talked until it was time to do the pieing. Once it was time to pie the officers our advisors called us all to gather in front of the fire and for the officers to line up. We went in order of our offices until every officer had been pied. The members really enjoyed this, they even got to pie some of our

My name is Lucretia Dixon and I am the Children’s and youth director for my church. I was wondering if we could volunteer as a group at the food bank. There will be about 15- 20 participants that would help out. Some of our youth need community service hours for college credits. Please let me know if this is something that our outreach ministry can participate in.
I am Anh Phan, the president of La Quinta High School's P.A.W.S Club.We are a group of students from ages 14-17 who are dedicated to promoting and protecting animal welfare in our community. The meeting began with the traditional role call. All six members of the Board of Trustees were present, the mayor, and two additional people who were never introduced also sat at the podium in front of the crowd. A convocation was said by Dickens Arnegie from St. Julian Church in the Village and then the Board and Mayor approved the minutes for the evening. A few awards were given to members of the community. The first was to an Elk Grove Village Police Officer who was being promoted to Sergeant and the others were for the newest member of the K-9 team, for the oldest member who was retiring, and the veterinarian who offers his services for free to the K-9 team at all hours of the day.
In order to accomplish ten hours of community service, I worked at the Dorothy Day Center. My main jobs included folding and sorting clothes, cleaning around the Dorothy Day Center, as well as stocking the food pantry. I worked with six different individuals during the two separate days in which I donated my time and I also worked with Brother Martin Zatsick. He is the director of the Dorothy Day
