In 1500-1600 there were many different explorers of the New World. One of those explorers was Henry Hudson. Some of these explorers were sponsored by Monarchs some were even sponsored by themselves, but my explorers was sponsored by a company. Some were also very talented commanders in their younger life. Hudson explored New York Harbor in 1524. Henry also sailed from Holland in the Half Moon on April 6, 1609. On his way to Holland, Hudson docked at Dartmouth, England. The English government then ordered him and the english members of his crew to desist from further explorations for other countries. He spent his career searching for a different Route to Asia , and he failed, and failed, and failed but he still kept trying. Hudson and his crew traveled up a river. A river that was soon named after him. Once the homeward voyage had begun, the mutineers seized Hudson, his son, and seven others casting them adrift in the hudson Bay in a small open boat on June 22, 1611. Although the Discovery sailed home to England, neither of the ringleaders returned with her, having been killed, together with several others, in a fight with Eskimos. This voyage was unsuccessful because he did not find new trade routes from Europe to Asia. The next year, 1608, Henry went in search of new routes to Asia. Except this time he sailed his ship, Hopewell, over the tip of Russia. He had to turn back and sail home because he ran into thick and heavy ice. In 1609 he again ran into ice for the third time and because of the heavy ice he was determined to sail west to Asia. In July of 1609 Henry and his men found many inhospitable natives. One of Henry’s crew members was killed by them. In the late 1609 Hudson and his crew sailed by the island that is now called Manhattan and into the Hudson River. His last journey was made in April of 1610. He set sail on the ship Discovery. He found a strait in the ocean that led them over Canada, and the strait is now named the Hudson Strait. On December thirteenth Drake cruised from Plymouth in the Golden Hind with four other little ships and around 160 men. They were situated out to attack the Spanish property on the Pacific shoreline of the New World. He relinquished two boats in the Rio de Plata in South America, and, with the staying three, explored the Straights of Magellan. A tempest came and drove the boats more distant south; one boat and its group was devastated. Another boat was isolated from Drake's vessel and came back to England. Drake proceeded with alone up the shore of South America. He then ravaged Valparaiso and littler settlements, cut free the transportation in Callao and caught a rich Spanish ship. With the recently obtained Spanish graphs, Drake proceeded with the coast searching for a conceivable entry to the Atlantic Ocean. He cruised potentially to the extent Washington state and after that turned south again towards San Francisco to repair his boat.
