There are two big theories out there but only one is right. And the right theory is Creation. So let's go into a little history by looking at Evolution first.
According to scientists, they believe that the earth is 4.5 billion years old. They also believe that life, water, and oxygen got to Earth by meteorites. But the question is how did this happen ? Well let’s start with how they know how old the earth is. In 1897 Ernest rutherford came up with an idea that would change the world forever. The idea? Radioactive decay. Radioactive decay allows us to tell how old rocks are. So when people used this theory on rocks that were found in porpoise cove near hudson bay they were amazed at how

Then one scientist found the answer. They found table salt, and in the table salt they found a liquid substance. And so they tested the substance and when they found the results it was astounding. It was water. So now it all came down to one more question. Where did life come from? Well the answer also comes from a meteorite. When scientists were studying some meteorites that fell from space they stumbled on something they never saw before. They found something called amino acids. Without amino acids there would be no life. But that's not all. The Earth’s atmosphere that was building up for years had toxic chemicals and could not support life. So how did life start? Well the amino acids build up and created something called Stromatolites. Stromatolites live underwater and do something no other living thing can do. It's called photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is a process where the plant takes sunlight from the sun and releases tiny bubbles of what we call oxygen. A place you can see a big group of Stromatolites is in a place in Mexico called Cuatro Cienegas. This place in Mexico is one of the few places on Earth because of a …show more content…
John 1:1 says “In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God”.(NIV John 1:1) God is the almighty creator who created all. He created every single living and unliving thing there is on Earth. And so we have the 7 days of creation recorded in the bible. God created the heavens and the Earth. There was nothing. It was just a dark blank space. Then God said “let there be light” and there was light. There was light and dark so he called the darkness night and the light day. God saw what he made and it was good. This was Day one.(Genesis 1:1) Then God said “let there be sky”and there was sky. The sky separated the water so there was two septet things, sky and water and God said that it was good. This was the second day. Then God said “Let the waters separated by dry land” and there was waters separated by dry land. Then he said “now let plants grow in the waters and on dry land” and there was plants growing in the waters and on dry land. Then God saw what he made and it was good. This was the third day. God then said “let there be lights is the sky called stars and a sun to separate day and night.” And it was so. There was lights called stars and a sky to hold them in place. Then God saw what he made and it was good. This was day four. Next God said “let creatures live in the waters and birds that fly in the air” and it was so,
The age of the earth has been debated for centuries. Many people believe in evolution that it took billions of years for everything and everyone to form. Others believe that God created the earth in seven days and that the earth is young. Secular scientist and Christian scientist both use different methods for determining how old the earth is. For example, Secular scientist look and use the layers of rocks to help them, while Christian scientist uses the Bible and look at historical data from other cultures to help them. Doesn't looking at archeological data seem more accurate than looking at rocks? If the earth is truly billions of years old, then why is there little sediment on the sea floor? Or how can secular scientist explain finding soft tissue in a fossil if the earth is old? The most logical explanation is that the earth is young. Many people believe something just because people say that it is true, sometimes it is good to investigate for yourself and see if it is good for you.
God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. He separated the light from the darkness he called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.” God called the vault “sky.” God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.” So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it. God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.” God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their
In Chapter 11 “Deciphering Earth’s History” of the book “Earth Science” by Tarbuck and Lutgens, it explains to the audience how scientists have come up with new ways to figure out the age of Earth and even mountains, rivers and fossils. Some ideas such as rock layers, fossils, and radioactivity are some of the ways scientists use to figure out the exact date the earth was created and even find out how old some parts of the world are. Finding out the exact times many mountains, rivers, fossils and humans actually existed can help us put them down on the Geologic Time Scale and also answer questions such as, “Did humans and Dinosaurs Ever
In 1947 Clair "Pat" Patterson began to calculate the age of the Earth by the request of Harrison Brown at the University of Chicago. The age of the Earth was always questionable to historians before Pat Patterson. In 1650 James Usher Archbishop of Ireland accepted biblical views as authoritative and used events from the old testament to calculate the age of the Earth. His calculations gave him the result of Saturday October 22, 4004 B.C. at six o' clock P.M. Scientists after that began to try and measure the sediments of rock in the Earth but their calculations varied too widely from three million to fifteen billion years. It was then discovered that by calculating the amount of lead in meteorites you will be able to see exactly how old the Earth really is.
The subject of origins, or how we got here, is one of the most fundamental questions that can be asked. The important question of why we are here can’t be answered by science alone. How we answer these questions provides the basis for how we think about things, it defines our world-view. The Evolution vs. Creation debate is often referred to as the Great Debate. 20th century science has made the compelling discovery that, at some point, the universe began. Both sides of the debate Evolutionists and Creationists agree on one thing only, that the universe has not always existed. This is where their agreement ends. The why and how the universe began is where the division and dispute begins.
As humans evolve, they will change. Through the years, humans will both change mentally and physically. Through research and reasoning, people can only predict what might be the next human evolution. Much of what is predicted is based on the world that humans live in today. Some day, humans might be even be able to change their own genetics as science and technology advances.
Throughout history, people around the world are encountered with social structures that may positively shape their lives or may lead to the view of life as a burden. The social structures placed upon us shape the way we view and handle our economical and political values. Global inequalities of wealth and power have increasingly created an abundance of gendered structural violence. These instances can be clearly seen in Arlie Russel Hoschild’s story, Love and Gold, in Doméstica: Immigrant Workers Cleaning and Caring in the Shadows of Affluence, by Pierrette Hondagneu-Sotelo, in Kevin Bales story, Because She Looks Like a Child, and lastly, in Hosu Kim and Grace
Sir Robert Peel’s Principles of Law Enforcement, has been around for nearly 200 years now. If some didn’t know, Sir Peel had created a list of nine guidelines that policeman had to follow in the mid 1820’s. Out of the nine, one of the principles that stood out was, principle number six, which is a method that we use still use today. According to part of the sixth principle, it states that, “Police should use only the minimum degree of physical force necessary on any particular occasion for achieving a police objective.” Who knows why it sticks around, but it clearly makes a difference in the world.
Until the early 1900's, scientists used several methods of measurement in their efforts to determine the age of the Earth. They studied sedimentation and erosion, stratification (with fossil evidence), measured the salinity of the oceans, and used thermodynamics to determine loss of heat since the Earth's beginning. Each of these approaches yielded estimates that the Earth was anywhere from 24 to 100 million years old.
In the second chapter of Genesis, it tells of how God created the heavens and the earth. God then formed man out of the dust of the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life. Then He created the trees, the rivers, the animals
John also reveals Christ’s identity, “In the beginning the Word (logos) already existed. He was with God, and he was God…He created everything there is. Nothing exists that he didn’t make. Life itself was in him and this life gives light to everyone.” (John 1:1, 3-4)
There have been many theories concerning what the universe looks like, how it became this way, and where it is going. The most popular theory that people hold today is that the universe began when all the matter ever present in the universe was contained in a tiny speck and that spec exploded. This is known as the Big Bang. This theory has developed a great deal since it was first conceptualized and continues to evolve today. Many different scientists have had a hand in this.
What is life? This is a difficult question to answer, largely because life itself is not a simple concept. About four thousand five hundred million years ago the Earth collided with a planetoid the size of Mars. At this time, fragments orbiting the Earth formed the
One of the main theories is that life started by chemical means in a rock where water, methane, ammonia and hydrogen were all present then with the added effect of lightening simple organic molecules formed the building blocks of life. There was an experiment that was conducted in 1953 by Miller and Urey that supports that the conditions above could stimulate organic compounds to form. *copied “ The Miller-Urey experiment attempts to recreate the chemical conditions of the primitive Earth in the laboratory, and synthesized some of the building blocks of life.
Being born in a Jewish house, I decided to visit a Church. I visited a Presbyterian church. Presbyterians is a branch of Protestant Christianity, which is part of the most populated religion in the world Christianity. The word Presbyterian comes from the Bible from the Greek word for "elder". The Presbyterian Church is governed by elders. That being the main difference from my understanding. Being governed by elders, The more experienced elders have more power as they are the main source of authority. The more experienced elders are authorized to train and ordain Church Deacons.
