The idea that I am currently working on is recreating the Helping Hampers project mentioned above due to the large impact it has on multiple families. The hampers contain around 3 months of food and cleaning supplies in addition to presents for each family member. This project connects CKI here to a Key Club in Centennial to its feeder junior high schools which is what makes it great. CKI organizes the dates, delivery and boxes, while the collection of items occurs in high school ( I am planning with Centennial High School right now). And then, the hampers are delivered to junior high schools.
In additionto that, another idea would be to educate clubs about CKI preferred charities at DCON where members of clubs are introduced to the charities
In addition, I have many ideas on how to make the Beta Club grow and become more successful. One of which, is a school-wide rummage sale, with items donated by families. This would be good to help fund the Stop Hunger Now event that everyone enjoyed last year. The rummage
Guidelines are created to ensure a success interview process. Setup meeting time with the individuals, which will be interviewed and be prepared and on time. Donations to illnesses: we can set up a charity inside the school or perhaps fieldtrips could be helping the homeless.
By doing this, it will not only make for a better community, but it will also provide a sense of unity and enrich the fulfillment of society members within the community. The National Honor Society as a whole can run a monthly food drive, in doing so, non-perishable food items can be gathered and distributed to those in need. In addition to having food drives; other drives can be factored in, such as winter clothing and shoes. There is a multitude of students that attend school and do not have the proper clothing for the season. Before winter begins, a winter coat drive can be held, and the donations can be dispersed among the students who do not own one, as well as others living in the community. As well as implementing food and donation drives, we can also implement a soup kitchen. The soup kitchen can be held within our school, where it is warm and cozy for those who may not have a comfortable home environment. The soup kitchen can be held every week; fundraisers and donations will help finance the soup kitchen, and it will bring a new found appreciation within the community. We will be helping people that are financially incapable of providing for
This year Millards South Student Council has decided to start our own student pantry. Our council really wanted to focus on a big project that would benefit our student body. Our administrative staff informed us that 27% of our student body needs financial assistance and qualifies for free and reduced lunch services. This number is significantly higher that our neighboring high school.Once we found this news out, our council knew that we wanted to relate our project to helping them. The first step we did was create a project proposed form and present it to our administrator to start the process of creating the pantry. We were approved and given a room in the school to use as our pantry. We did a lot of research and even visited ‘Ralston High
The Highland Middle School students completed a December service project on December 9. Students donated a new or gently used coat, scarf, hat, and/or gloves to benefit children ages 3-5 years old attending SIUE Headstart program.
If selected into this group I will continue the growth and success of NHS by increasing our representation in our communities such as Brownsville and Los Fresnos. I would like to create more service events for students in need through
My first step of this project was creating flyers that I hung up in the park near my house and passed out to my neighbors. I also texted family and friends to see if they were interested in donating. All advertisement/donations
As vice president of my school's NHS chapter, I am an advocate for good causes. Our service project this year is a substantial charitable endeavor. In 1996, a fellow NHS member and friend lost a sibling to SIDS. To assist his family's fight for a cure, our chapter initiated a fundraiser. Tee-shirt sales raised thousands of dollars; a ceremony at a football game advertised our cause to the community; our slogan “Big Steps for Baby Steps” galvanized the school; a partnership with the CJ Foundation for SIDS legitimized our efforts with sponsors. Each of the school's clubs and teams has dedicated itself to the cause. A 5k in May is our culminating event. Uniting an entire school and community behind such a worthy cause is gratifying. The other
The volunteer/s will record the data in a weekly spreadsheet. Volunteers will be trained about confidentiality, on phone procedures, and clerical duties, and take classes on confidentiality. Faith based organizations located in Russell County will be utilized such as God’s food Pantry, The Catholic Clothing Center, Baptist Clothing Helping Hands Center, and the community funding will provide the donation of goods. This program will be advertised in the local newspaper and on the multiple radio stations to inform the community of the program and the availability of goods. The service recipients are identified by teachers, pastors, neighbors, and others in the community. A social worker or member at the LCAA will follow up with families to assess needs.
The event that the club chose to highlight is their Community Thanksgiving Dinner held each November to serve between 50-150 community members a free delicious holiday meal. To make this event happen the students have to plan the date and venue, advertise in the newspaper and around town, organize who
Not everyone has access to a variety of lists of charities and community events to be part of. Like how for school, the National Honor Society is a reaching point or a ‘source’ to a collection of opportunities to better the community. A community contains a diversity or range of ethnicities and culture which is one value of the service clubs. By promoting
Meet with leaders from Redeemer Lutheran church Community food basket leaders. They are looking for ways to serve our students and their families.
My project was to run a personal items drive for the SEICCA office in my home area of Montpelier. SEICCA felt that they had a need for personal items and baby products. I based that need on where to request to put the collection boxes for the items along with a flyer for the needed items on the boxes. I left the boxes in the stores that agreed for a month. I posted on different local forums details of the drive, where the boxes are, what the need is for, and the items being requested.
There are a number of similar-sounding Python packages used to manage either versions of Python or packages in a project. If you’re not familiar with them, it’s easy to get them confused.
