Task 1a * The importance of carrying out a detailed body analysis & relevant tests is so that you can pick up on any posture faults, avoid any areas which may be contra indicated and you are able to give them information on ways to improve their posture. It is important to carry out relevant tests such as cold or hot and sharp and blunt so that you are sure the client can feel the difference. This also prevents you from harming your client if they can feel something within the treatment which feels painful. * The importance of positioning the client correctly so they are as comfortable as possible and you aren’t causing

Marble stones: cold stone, made from limestone should be recharged by leaving in sunlight/moonlight or burying in the earth overnight
Marine stones: cold stone, made from sedimentary rock should be recharged by leaving in sunlight/moonlight or burying in the earth overnight. Semi-precious stones: can be used hot or cold, gem stones, usually used for shakra placing. Should be recharged; with reiki energy, leaving in sunlight/moonlight and cleansing in a bowl with other crystals.
Physical and physiological effects of hot and cold stones:
Effects of hot stones 1 * Vaso-dilation – the blood vessels widen, bringing blood to areas of the body ie skin * Increased circulation – more oxygenated blood circulating * Increased metabolism – speeds up the rate of nutrients being utilised * Increased pulse rate – helps the heart pump efficiently * Increased cell metabolism – speeds up the process of manufacturing new cells * Increased lymph function – speeds up the removal of toxins and waste * Relaxes the muscles – enables the therapist to work on the muscles without causing discomfort to the client * Reduces muscle tension * Relaxes the mind * Different emotions may cause some clients to feel upset.
Effects of cold stones 1 * Vaso-constriction – the blood vessels narrow, taking blood away from areas of the body, ie skin * Analgesic effect – natural pain relief
Blood being carried by the veins is deoxygenated blood, blood that is high in carbon dioxide
The client must be sitting up nice and straight with their head slightly tilted towards the floor to prevent unwanted graduation, it is absolutely vital that the client does not have their legs crossed as this could cause problems with balance and symmetry.
Jade Stones “nephrite” are a mineral composed of magnesium, iron, and silicate of calcium. Usually, they are formed through extreme heat and pressure known as metamorphism. Surprisingly, it can be found on every continent in the world, including countries like New Zealand, Brazil, China (Sinkiang), Canada, Zimbabwe, and the United State. It can be found in serpentine rock, by mining, alongside riverbanks, and seashores. Due to its composition these stones are shaped and polished before it is used in massage ("Nephrite Jade Gemstone Information", 2014).
5. Master stones-it is essential that all stones are set in the correct manner to achieve the correct clarity
Arteriosclerosis is the thickening, hardening and the loss of elasticity on the walls of arteries, it occurs when the blood vessels (arteries) that carry nutrients and oxygen to the rest of the body becomes thick and stiff.
When the there is a rupture of the small veins that sup nutrients to the tissue surrounding the bones, caused
Vasoconstriction is when the working muscles are not getting the oxygen they need because the veins and vessels are stopping the blood flow. In this process of vasoconstriction the diameter of the vessels get smaller therefore the blood that is able to flow out of the blood vessels gets decreased. Blood vessels constrict together instead of being relaxed. This happens during exercise because that’s when the working muscles need oxygen. The other muscles don’t need as much oxygen there for when the blood gets there it gets redirected to the other muscles that are working and that require more oxygen. Therefore when exercising the legs the stomach wouldn’t get as much blood to use as the legs
A stone conservator is someone who tries to prevent and preserve the historic buildings and sculptures from damage. Stone conservator clean pollution deposits for sculptures, repair, and repainting. Many stone converters work at museums, universities, and private companies. Anyone who is a stone converter must have knowledge in art and chemistry and work together with both professions. There are many methods stone conservators use to clean the historic buildings and sculptures. One method they use is applying a thin, clay mudpack to a stones surface to pull out the deposits (Addison-Wesley; vol. 5; 877).
This narrowing leads to poor perfusion of the body and the serious complications affecting the blood vessels of the heart (coronary heart disease), the extremities (peripheral vascular disease), the eyes (retinopathy), the nerves (neuropathy), and the kidneys (nephropathy). Poor circulation and perfusion results in
The drive exerted on the walls of the blood vessel has to remain in acceptable regular range to forestall any harm to the vessel and to not cause the irreversible damage to the organs in the
Gemstones were also used to ease childbirth. Placing a magnet in the mother’s hand was believed to provide relief. As was wearing coral around her neck.
reports the amount of force exerted by the blood into the arteries during ventricular contraction.
