To sell oneself as a health educator, I must become the solution. Individuals believe that we can prepare and overcome obstacles in the health profession. Allowing others to know I am a health educator I must sell myself as one who not only knows the knowledge, but am able to present it and teach it to others.
Second, I must be specific in what I articulate. Having the knowledge to explain my actions or the ideals related to the course is good, but being able to give examples is even better. Show promise by letting others know how teamwork is important to overall fitness, and then give an example like how your team came together to win a state championship or something.
Step three in selling oneself as a health educator, be positive. Health class/P.E. class is the highlight of most kid’s days. By creating a positive and happy atmosphere, students will be able to enjoy the time they have in the classroom, and they might consider you their favorite teacher.

Being cocky is one thing, having confidence is another. Respecting the class, supporting students, creating positive vibes, and being able to teach the importance of health in a safe and fun environment is important to show that you aren’t there for the money, but are there to teach health.
These are some, if not, the most important aspects in which one, or I, should sell myself to become a health educator; knowing the information, creating positive vibes, unity and being the
In my quest to find that “perfect or ideal” career I took the time to explore my thoughts on what I would like to take into the education world. In other words, what I would vision as my legacy. There are two outstanding purposes for my choosing to be an educator. The first of those reasons for selecting a career in education is the ability to be a positive influence. It is common knowledge that youth (children and teenagers) are affected greatly by the adults in their life. A teacher is one of those individuals.. I feel strongly that through this career I have the capability to influence another person in a direction to fulfill him or herself. This is attainable through actions or communication. The second reason I have for becoming an educator is the ability to share my love of subject. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. At the present time I am seeking to expand it to one which includes General
In this unit I am going to explain three different approaches to promoting Health Education the three approaches I am going to explain are Mass Media, Community development and Two way Communication.
Academically, I love explaining and elaborating concepts to my peers, either through casual meetings or through a formal tutoring program, like what Geisel offers. By teaching, I can not only help others, but also learn much better than studying alone. I’m also looking forward to participate in the “Partners in Health Education” program or the “Health Education and Rescue Training (HEART)” program, where I can spread health related knowledge to the
Throughout this coursework I will be writing about different life-stages of my chosen celebrity. My chosen celebrity is Michael Jackson. I will start with physical development and go through intellectual, emotional and social developments.
According to the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing (NCHEC), the fifth area of responsibility and competency is to administer and manage health education. In this area one will manage fiscal resources, budget, obtain acceptances and support for programs. Demonstrate great leadership skills, hire and train people to be a part of an expanding program. Health educators also have to manage human resources and keeping everything organized and
I browed and build upon what I learned from AHS 391 Educational Methods, AHS 341 Health Science Research Method, and the CPE training in AHS 409 Health Screening. During my co-op, I developed and implemented a weekly educational program for my peers through Motivational Mondays. To do so, I conducted research, developed educational materials and interacted/taught my peers. I reused the educational methodologies and research technique I producing informational boards and interactive activities. I used my CPE training to implement campus programs and behavioral change. I found that teaching health is one of the best ways to learn. I also developed better communication skill by continually interacting and presenting to the general
The two curriculums that I will be teaching are Physical Education and Health Education. I believe it is essential to teach fitness at a young age in order for the students to have a life they can further enjoy by being healthy. I also think that educating students about the human body and being able to use your body in physical activity is essential to have a healthy lifestyle. I plan on teaching life long activities and also good health habits that they can use the rest of their lives.
In May of 2014, I began taking classes at Pima Community College targeted for direct care professionals, including histology, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, immunology, nutrition, lifespan development, and psychology. Through these courses, I was able to gain a better understanding of how the body and mind works and develops throughout life. In addition to knowledge gained in the classroom setting, I took advantage of an opportunity to become a fitness instructor and thereby help improve the health and well-being of individuals within my community. I became licensed as a Zumba instructor in June of 2015 and now teach classes at my local
Learning Understanding and appreciating of each person’s uniqueness, respect ethnic and cultural diversity. Formal education is also important when I begin to shape me as a professional. It is important to lean that you cannot control everything but when an unexpected opportunity papers it is imperative that you be ready to take advantage and learn from them. Also to ensure you have an effective health education program it requires coordination from health administrators from all sections to become its own facilitators. Another important aspect my formal education is networking. When administrators have similar problems we need to come together to seek solution through expression of feeling as well as
1. Choose two health education professional organizations that you’d most likely join and explain why you would choose these organizations (if you are already a member, mention that and why you like/dislike it!)
One issue that is currently causing a big debate in my school district is health education. Just this year, the school district has approved that sex education must be taught in all schools and is not optional. Many parents thought they would be able to decline the sex education classes; however, the classes were included in the curriculum of health education. As a result, every student must take all of the sex education classes because they are listed within the health education curriculum. In addition, the school board has also voted and approved that students 7th grade and above will also be educated on gender identity and transgender issues (Shapiro, 2015).
In addition, my background in education makes me committed to bringing nursing and education together, by implementing professional pedagogy into nursing and by emphasizing patient education as a tool for promoting optimal health and preventing complications.
My passion for teaching others has led me to ask many questions to my professors and tutors throughout my journey. I know that I will continue asking questions because we will always learn something new every day. That is why even though I have an undeniable passion for language, I would love to have the opportunity to learn what public health really is and how it benefits us as individuals. I currently work in a surgical center called Shammas Eye Medical Center as a medical assistant. I have learned through the various physicians and surgeons the importance of educating patients on prevention and management. Dr. John Shammas, head Surgeon of our facilities and a professor at the University of Southern California has taught its staff the value
I am choosing to express my thoughts on what I believe to be the most essential qualities that an outstanding educator should embody.
I am very dedicated to opening student’s eyes to show them how something as simply as physical activities can change their lives. Giving students confidence to be anything they want in life but it starts inside their bodies first.
