As a clinician, we can come up with the best interventions. But, it is only going to be successful if the patient understands the intervention and implement correctly. In order to patients understand the information provided, a clinical need to speak the language and understand the culture of their patients (Benjamin, 2010). Pender, Murdaugh, and Parsons (2010) recommends few strategies for delivering health care information. The one I am going to us the most is breaking down complex information into small, understanding chunks. Regardless how much the information is simplified, remembering all the information is almost impossible. Therefore, I also going to provide a written handout according to the patient's literacy level or repeat the
The purpose of my essay is to identify a quality or service problem which requires improvement at my place of work. The essay will then identify a range of interventions that can be used; albeit choose the most effective approach required to ameliorate the situation. This will be followed by critical analysis using evidence based literature on policies underpinning the service improvement. The author will further use the Plan Do Study Act (PDSA) cycle as stated by Langley et al (2009) and Kerridge (2012) to illustrate the effectiveness of the chosen interventions. The essay will also discuss the leadership style used, stakeholders involved including issues that impact on the implementation of service improvement. A conclusion will then be
Across the country, new tools are being provided to states, localities, and community-based helping professionals to aid with the development of policies and prevention interventions designed to meet individuals in their environment and develop frameworks such as trauma-informed services that are tailored towards the private health and human services field to enhance the human services system’s ability to deliver person and family centered services in a cost effective manner.
When children are identified as not following the normal (expected) patterns a number of agencies may be able to involve themselves . There are some cases that may involve joint partnership; this means a multi agency approach to the issue. There will be some cases that focus on working with the family; this could be for reasons such as cultural or social issues. Professionals can be involved in intervention with children, these are: Additional learning support staff work within and outside schools providing a range of services to help children who have certain specific educational needs.
Children that were recruited to participate were assigned to either a treatment or non-treatment group based on parental consent, and willingness to be involved in therapeutic interventions. Those who were interested in receiving both therapy and being involved in the study were assigned to a treatment group, and those interested only in being part of the study were assigned to the non-treatment group. Due to the nature of this study, an option of random assignment was not feasible, and instead children were each assigned to their group. Screening interviews and pretreatment assessment occurred one month before treatment began. The participants then began receiving intervention or no intervention and immediately after treatment were given a post treatment assessment. In addition to the assessment at the conclusion of treatment, two more assessments were given at a one-year, and 10-year follow up.
This link describes the importance of clinicians to provide culturally and sensitive services to diverse populations
In general, significant and growing numbers of individuals and families face substantial economic challenges and as a consequence, mental health challenges. Lower income group including minorities and immigrants experience a higher burden of health-related concerns. People who are homeless do exhibit several of these risk factors because of their living situations, including alcohol and drug abuse, which is common in this neighborhood. Immigrants who do not speak English well may be afraid to seek mental health care if they are undocumented. For these reasons and more, the project is crucial to the underserved people of this community. The groups targeted for outreach through this project are among the most underserved and most vulnerable group
What are ways to connect research and practice? How might counselors use research in marriage, couple, and family counseling?
The value to using specific approaches such as CBT is that they are evidence based interventions that teach the client a better way to think which then leads to making better behaviors and choices. If a social worker uses their own approach as an intervention, then the outcome to the treatment may not be a proper one. Barth et. al (2011), explain that evidence based approaches are not always used by social workers in their interventions even though it is important to do so. On the other hand, I think that using common factors approach gives social workers a chance to be more original in their practice and give flexibility to their interventions. It provides the client with a more unique treatment that was customized for their own needs. Barth
There have been several policy-level measures to address the environment of the health care system and how it contributes to health disparities. First, as seen in Figure 3, the uninsured rate in the United States has declined by 43% following the implementation of the Affordable Care Act (ACA. According to National Health Interview Survey data, the increases in insurance coverage under the ACA were substantial across all races and ethnicities [11], increasing access to care for minorities which is an essential step in eliminating disparities. More notably, the ACA has also designated funding towards the diversification of the workforce. These measures took form in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Disparities Action

Therapeutic sessions assist in enhancing the member’s individual’s thoughts as well as those they are building relationships with. The support that they have from family, friends, significant others and the community is essential in their well-being as interactions with others are crucial for development of a sense of self (Meyer, 2003).
In today’s society, being able to communicate or participate in the exchange of information effectively is an essential skill for much of the healthcare providers in America today. Providing patient-centered care involves learning to communicate effectively with various barriers even with those patients who speak a different language than English. There are patients with other ethnicities and culturally influenced health behaviors that can be different than the health care beliefs of the most clinicians in this country.
The last intervention, we will use is meditation. There are many different forms of meditation such as yoga, tai-chi, walking and Autogenic training. Their cognitive development will also improve with the work of meditation. Adolescents go through a lot of stress and stress can hurt their health outcomes. With meditation as something we do in our sessions and possibly at home their stress could be reduced. The staff will communicate with the parents about stress at home and how that can have a negative impact on their child who is trying to get better. The young adult’s life and environment need to have very little stress so they may improve their health. With an intervention like meditation, they will be able to relax and calm down if anything
Telepsychology is a relatively new development within the field of mental health service. The American Psychological Association defines it as the “provision of psychological services using telecommunication technologies. . . Telecommunication technologies include but are not limited to telephone, mobile devices, interactive videoconferencing, email, chat, text, and Internet (e.g., self-help websites, blogs, and social media).”(2016). Within the general category of telepsychology, psychological services that are delivered via the internet are referred to as “e-therapy”, “itherapy”, “cybertherapy”, and other similar names. E-therapy is a natural extension of our technological advancement, the growth of psychology as a field, and our ever increasing
This proposed public health intervention is based on the conceptual framework developed by QUT and the AIHW, which considers the downstream, midstream and upstream determinants of health (Draper et al., 2004).
