Titus Harvest Dome: We’re here to save souls Many have most likely seen those clichéd apocalyptic warnings, you know, the one’s you usually see hoboes or “crazy” men on street corners saying “Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand.” Unfortunately that has become a common stereotype for Christians everywhere: a bunch of people telling you that you’ll go to Hell, if you do not adhere and submit yourself to God. This comes from a redundant life style known as religion, but this is not how Christians, or anybody in this case, should be living. What many people do not or refuse to understand is that religion is just repetition; doing the same thing day after day, and eventually a “religious” lifestyle will become stale and lackluster. Unfortunately, Christians are starting to become too religious; at Titus Harvest Dome (THD) we try to keep religion a minimum by praying an hour a day and fasting twice a week. To seek after God with our whole heart (Jer. 29.13) The main objective for Christians is to guide those who are lost in their own sins, so that they may repent and trust in God. The basis of being a Christian is Jesus Christ …show more content…
Do not be misinformed everything said in the church is not focused only in the spirit, Jesus wanted to separate the religion out of living right. When Jesus explained the concepts of the kingdom of God to the Jews, he used parables (short-stories) as well to make it easier to understand. So there will be a lot of metaphors and referencing when it comes to understanding, but it is as centered about studying the “Word” (which is the bible), prayer, and fasting. However, even in this some members fall short of doing this, I myself am not excluded (but not
The late 1800s saw many changes that occurred because of rapid industrialization, changes that affect us even today. Before the Civil War, America was just beginning to explore the frontier, develop railroads, and agriculture was just barely starting to become mechanized. The United States was only about half-way through it’s own industrial revolution when the war started, but the effects of industrialization after the war were so great that they are still seen today. One of the biggest consequences of the rapid industrialization in America was the change to a consumer-type economy.
Christianity derives from the teachings of God’s son Jesus of Nazareth and his apostles who later became known as Jesus Christ. Being a Christian is living a very righteous life. Christianity is a monotheistic religion such as Islam and Judaism. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have an eternal life.” This is a major factor in christian faith. This exact quote is not a belief for other religions but, it is known to be the foundation to have a great afterlife. It shows how only Christians believed in Jesus being God's son and in the holy trinity. In conclusion, Christians are to live in
The Christian world view on life meaning and purpose is basic and yet different from other world views. Our main resolution in life is to work for God and have a strong connection with him at all times. First and foremost God desires to come first, and all else will tumble into place as long as we believe in him and have complete faith in him also. It is printed that we can only have one master (Matthew 6:24) and for that reason, God believes that serving him must be the highest significant thing for us to do with our period here on earth. Wright (2010) defined the Christian life as holding to "the moral thrust of the New Testament" and "God's kingdom, and" our "discovery of a genuine human existence by the paradoxical route...God...took in Jesus Christ" (p. 67, 70).
Jerusalem is much more than just another city on the map. It is the holy city where three Abrahamic religions originated. But more importantly, it is one of the three holiest places on earth, along with Mecca and Medina. The Dome of the Rock is known to be built around 691-692. There have been some disputes as to why the Dome of the Rock was built. The disputes have generally been between Muslim scholars who have their own reasons to believe why this sacred Dome was built, and there will always be doubts and differing opinions because it is hard to know exactly the reason or the cause that led to the Dome being built. Moreover, Grabar also discusses the purpose of the Dome and why it was chosen to be in the specific location that it is today, as well as the function of the Dome. In addition,
Christianity was established by God, through Jesus Christ, who came to earth as a man. He was the prime example of humility and moral values, and he taught the basics of morality and how to get to heaven. In a way that is different from all other religions, Jesus taught grace through faith as the only road to heaven. In John 11:25, Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies." Any other religion that can be found, including Catholicism and 'Christian' cults, will teach works as a method of salvation. In reality, according to the Bible, we are wicked sinners with no hope in and of ourselves. The Bible says that man is not basically good, but corrupt in nature. This is made clear in Romans 3:23 which says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Romans 3:10-11 also says, "As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God." Ephesians 2:8-9 says, " For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." Christians believe that we are actually not the highest beings in the universe; rather, God is. Isaiah 55:9 says from God's point of view: "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." We have evidence of God, based both on science and faith. The mere complexity of our universe points to someone who designed it with a purpose and still sustains it today. And our faith gives us further evidence. Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Many atheists ask us to show proof of God. However, if God wanted all people to believe he would have made it plain as daylight even to the unbeliever that he exists. God wants us to believe in
The Christian believes that God created the human from earth matter and the human was created with a purpose: to improve the world and serve God (see Genesis.) Also to be exemplary and moral and to imitate God.
At the very core of the Christian religion is the belief that God and humanity have a broken relationship, and God desires to restore the relationship with His creation. Unlike other religions that stress the importance of humans pleasing a god, the Christian religion is about God reaching down to His people, who disobeyed and denied Him. Because the Christian religion is about restoring a relationship, many crucial elements comprise the Christian faith.
Redemptive Purpose: The problem one faces of living life without Christ is that they are living by their flesh and not by God and His word. They will also have a
They constantly seek knowledge of that which they do not understand. For Christians, the greatest source of knowledge and guidance is through the teachings of Jesus Christ. The Holy Bible offers an endless wealth of insight on what is right and how Christians should approach daily life.
Christianity claims that God sent his only son, Jesus Christ, to earth over 2,000 years ago to save humanity from sin. One of the main reasons Jesus was sent to earth was to preach the word of God and convert people into Christians. Jesus is the perfect human and was created in God’s image. Although Jesus is not God, God is Jesus. So for those few individuals that saw Jesus Christ have seen the face of God. Unlike other religions, Christians do not have to ponder about what God is like or what God expects of us, because we have the word of Jesus, and God is Jesus.
In Christianity, the purpose of this life is to better your relationship with God and to know Him better. This is also proven in Job 22:21 that if you align yourself with God and are in harmony with that relationship that you will receive good things in this world.
Countless people express concern for the social conditions of the world today. In general, chaotic conditions describe the social setting, where hatred and violence run rampant. These conditions are most often interpreted, especially by Christians, as a sure sign that the end of the world is near; it will not be long before Jesus returns and “right all the wrongs.” Therefore, an enormous number of people feel that the only reasonable response to this upheaval, other than to pray, is simply to sit and wait. But, is this the way God wants us to react? Of course, we should always pray, but as Christians, are we expected to do more than just sit and wait? Could this attitude cause us to be somewhat
Christianity is a faith based on the life, teachings, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Fisher, 1991) Christianity is a one God religion as presented in the New Testament. Today, Christianity and the church are culturally diverse, even in the aspects of race. It is even said that Sunday mornings is the most segregated time in the world. There is one central belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, all Christians can come to this conclusion. Christianity teaches that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins and that we are all under the judgment of God because we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Other religions may often depict that it is only necessary to do some good when it comes to God in order to
In George Orwell’s Animal Farm, he uses the animals to represent Russian history by showing the mistreatment of the animals, them breaking free of their owner, and going back to the terrible lifestyle they had before. The main cause of the animals going back into the terrible lifestyle is the pigs, mainly Napoleon and Squealer; they took over the farm, killed animals, and manipulated the animals. George Orwell uses both Napoleon and Squealer to demonstrate the many ways of manipulating people.
