ou will face the darkness someday, we all do “What he saw inside the coffin was not his uncle’s sleeping form laid atop white silk padding. Instead, what he saw was darkness more profound than any he’d ever before seen.” When Andy Gresham’s son Dylan is abducted from his bed on Halloween night, he realizes that history has caught up with him. Memories he’d buried long ago begin to surface, and he is forced to share with his wife the story of Halloween night in 1991. His secret history is a strange tale of a confrontation with a supernatural entity that left two of Andy’s friends dead and one institutionalized. And this secret history just might hold the key to rescuing Andy’s child. With his mentally unstable friend Ben at his side,
From 1910 to 1945, Koreans demonstrated their resistance against the Japanese through the Korean Independence Movement when Japan colonized Korea. Weakened by earlier Chinese occupance, Korea was already in a state turmoil. Heroic people such as Yun Bong-Gil and Yu Gwan Sun stood up for their country and culture. It took Korea almost 30 more years to gain their independence, but under their leadership, they proved the success of their determination and patriotism. Despite the eventually liberation of Korea, the Japanese occupation proved to be devastating to the Korean tradition and culture. Yet, the occupation had also been incredibly helpful to the Japanese economy which was under the rule of Hideki

This year, Halloween at St. George’s school brought a wide array of costumes – from movies like Star Wars and Straight Outta Compton, to a unique example of a working vending machine, penguins, cows and a few Donald Trumps. The school held a contest in assembly to determine this year’s best costume: Eazy E aka Hans Senger walked away with a very convincing victory. Overall, it was a fantastic day of distinctive costumes and free candy; we can’t wait to see what next year brings!
In Rob Zombie’s interpretation of John Carpenter’s 1978 Halloween, evil is manifested in a ten year old boy named Michael Myers. Zombie showcases for the first time on film, what the child went through that lead to the destruction of his innocents. The Halloween movie series is one of the most well-known horror movies of all time and one of my favorite slasher-flim. Michael Myers is who everyone fears the most, because no matter what you do to him, he would ever die. He never hid the hate and the evil that was inside him, he just embraced it. Somehow and someone has created this boogeyman that everyone fears, but the story was never told. It wasn’t until Zombie started filming Halloween that this could be answered. Sociologically concepts

In “The Hallowe’en Party” by Miriam Waddington and “The Lottery” by Shirley Jackson, symbols are used to illustrate the different themes that make appearances throughout both narratives. In “The Hallowe’en Party”, there is an underlying message of hope that is conveyed at various points, though the most prominent is when the farm land is introduced. As an immigrant, Mr. Luria was likely nervous and scared about the idea of moving to a new country that was completely different in terms of society and culture. Despite this, he was determined to settle in Canada which would explain his need to “… [search]… for landscapes that were like his old home” (Waddington). He found a piece of Russia in the farm land
With the increase in reinterpretations of death and Halloween symbols, two fundamental things occurred, the mass commodification of Halloween and a decontextualization of the symbols of death. In 1978 the premiere of Halloween, directed by John Carpenter, directly placed the holiday itself in relation to horror and gruesome death, more so than the introduction of gothic horror ever did (Rogers 110; Khapaeva 58). The introduction of explicit horror, according to Rogers, created. “a coded language that enables authors and invites their audiences to explore their fears, hidden desires, and anxieties” (110). This established a creative space in which fantasy and dissociation could be merged creating a popularization of death without actually dealing with the reality of death itself. It created a space where the narrative of horror and death could be controlled and regulated, through established archetypes. This directly contrasted the collective psyche of the 1970s and 80s in the United States, which was dealing with the ramifications of the AIDS epidemic (the worst epidemic since Polio), and an increase in social, religious, and political conservatism (Khapaeva 78). Through horror movies and Halloween, social anxieties could be dealt with in an a-political and creative way, while still maintaining the sanitized separation of hospital and culture.
Jonathan woke up in the middle of the night. His wife Ann was right next to him. He tried to go back to sleep for a long time but failed. Jonathan went to the bathroom and splashed his face with cold water. He then went over to his closet and got dressed. One of his two kids, Alex walked into Jonathan’s bedroom still rubbing his eyes. It was the night of Halloween, and the moon was shining in the darkness of the night. Little kids were starting to wander the streets, stopping at almost every door for candy. Every year, one child always makes the day of Halloween interesting. This year, that child was Brandan Cassen. He is the town's troublemaker, and in this story, he is about to change Halloween.
As humans, we have a tendency to judge people, places, and things. Therefore, every human at any point in their life has experienced criticism. Criticism can come from your parents, siblings, and friends; it is something without help have all been exposed to. Yet, a few humans examine criticism as a negative view for the reason that it may demoralize a person. What’s more, others recognize criticism has a tool to improve since it lets a person notice their mistakes.

The Flight Path of Airplanes Over Neighborhoods The houses can’t be unbuilt, and the airports can’t be torn down. But maybe the fences can be mended. –Robbie Sherwood In the past 10 years, many cities across the country have outgrown the planner’s expectations. Unfortunately the airports that were built 20 or more years ago, have not grown with the cities. Phoenix has tripled in size in the past 10 years. The tripling of air traffic has not had anywhere to go. The same two runways that have been serving the city since 1935 when the airport was built have been extremely over loaded. It is not just happening in Phoenix, a few years ago Denver received a new airport to relieve the overflow of traffic from the older Stapelton
