What is a home in a person's perspective? It is a factor that makes you feels belong and it can identify who you are. It can be a aspect of your life, but home doesn’t have to be a place. Ben from the book Half Brother and Coraline from the movie believes home is family, friends, a place Ben will not be alone, a place where he is not restricted to things they love, a place where they can receive warm welcomes, care, attention and relationship. Home is filled with friends, strong relationships, family and a place where he receives attention. A place where he can express himself as a dominant male, care and a place where he is not often restricted to things he loves. The following is what Ben does or what he needs for his life. His personality needs those factors so Ben can be himself. On page 78 Ben was in a role of a dominant male, dominant male always control people around them or take control of situations. In book Ben was asked to be seated and to lower his noise level, but he chose to reply negatively “sorry sir, but I am a chimp boy” page 78. Before Zan was sold to Mr. Helson and the paperwork has been completed, Ben was planning to rescue Zan. But the only way to get his little brother was to purchase him for a high price. Ben spread the message across to others, he asked for donations for he was eligible of purchasing Zan. This shows that he really does care for strong relationships and his family. During family discussions Ben had always persuade his parents to continue the project, and he always tried even though there may be no success. This action shows us that Zan is important for him so much that he would do try as hard as possible to reach his goal.
