Hair loss and hair thinning can be a major issue for both men and women. Our hair serves as our crown every day, representing our style and personality. Some women can experience hair loss during menopause while men suffer from baldness due to genetics. There are other factors that can cause hair loss, such as diet, stress, and lifestyle habits.

1. Androgenetic alopecia is the most common type of hair loss caused by genetics. The condition can lead to baldness and hereditary thinning. About 80 million people in the United States, both men and women, suffer from this type of hair loss.

2. Certain medical conditions, such as diabetes and lupus, may contribute to hair loss. Alopecia areata or other autoimmune disorders cause the immune cells to attack your own hair, leading to hair thinning and hair loss. Diabetes slows down the process of hair growth and having the disease can make you vulnerable to alopecia areata. Thyroid disorders like hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism can also cause hair to fall out.
