The paint I have chosen to observe is Gustave Courbet's The Stonebreakers. Now as to how he rebelled against the traditions of past art style be following the art movement of portraying realism in his art work, basically he changed what his subject matter would be for his art work. So instead of painting royalty, fairy tale stories/myths, or even religious figure or stories to paint how the world is by painting a young man and adult breaking rocks. Although very simple when hearing what the subject matter is he portraited this scene of every day work of the common folk was done with excellence detail, showing the workers hardships and the load of their work with its semi-dark color scheme which is devoid of bright colors. Instead of painting
Realism was a direct result of the social and economic changes of the 19th century in Europe. It originated in France in the after the Revolutions of 1848, which were a series of political outbreaks throughout Europe. It was around 1906, when Jonas Lie discovered the beauty of impressionism in Claude Monet’s paintings when he went on a trip to Paris while visiting Norway to reconnect with the Norwegian side of his family. He was fascinated by Monet’s use of color and light and incorporated that style in his later works. Lie’s artistic talent in mixing the two art styles is evident, as seen in his painting Dusk on Lower Broadway. (See fig 1.) The brushstrokes look like they were made quickly but with precision, creating a piece of art that looks realistic from far
The art that I find most interesting is graffiti, because it taking the streets and filling them with personality and stories. In the following essay I will be talking about three well known graffiti artist and their art.
Survival Artist was written by Eugene Bergman. This book is very good book to learn an individual record of his Holocaust survival as a deaf person. Despite the fact that Bergman, a resigned Gallaudet educator, is a deaf author, he didn 't encounter any deaf citizens or deaf culture until his arrival into the United States after WWII. He became deaf at nine years old as the consequence of an assault by a trooper not long after Germany attacked Poland during September 1939. The Nazi trooper assaulted him with the rifle, when he woke from concussion, he couldn’t hear anything ever again. The author pointed that he was able to speaking but not very well. He was explaining that his family later hired a Jewish-German outsider speech professor to instruct the young man how to read lips despite the fact that Bergman talked just Polish and Yiddish, which were incomprehensible to the instructor due to his early age. Obviously, the lessons fizzled. All through the conflict days, the youthful Bergman just could read lips and comprehend the expressions of his more established sibling, Bronek. Meanwhile, his endurance regularly relied on upon it, Bergman turned into a shrewd observer of individuals keeping in mind the end goal to comprehend the terrible environment which was during the Holocaust. Bergman survived during WWII with his knowledge of Polish and Yiddish spoken languages. He was able to reading lips by anyone who spoke these languages but not German.

This 2012 Baz Luhrmann version of The Great Gatsby comes to life with its vibrancy and party-like spectacles. Baz Luhrmann does a miraculous job of creating a mood for the story, as well as having a knack for blending its contemporary jazz with modern hip hop music to add excitement to the movie. This 2012 The Great Gatsby follows along with the plot line of the original book better than the 1974 version, which makes it easier to comprehend background information.
For example, the Mona Lisa is painted by the Northern Renaissance style. You could see that by looking at the highly detailed style of the figure. Mona Lisa’s face is especially detailed; it almost looks real. The artist of the Henry Clay and Theodore Roosevelt political cartoon focuses more on the background rather than on the structure of the faces. However, Leonardo de Vinci focuses more on the structure of Mona’s face instead of the background and that’s why the paining looks very simple and
As a story that had already been told in writing and film, Baz Luhrmann’s modern film version of The Great Gatsby has a great deal to live up to. Having read the book and seen the original movie, I can knowledgeably say that Luhrmann’s version was my favorite experience of The Great Gatsby out of the three. The complexity of the diction in the book left me bored and half asleep, and the acting in the original film version left me wanting more. Although I did not fall in love with F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel, Luhrmann’s rendition of The Great Gatsby is as good of a representation of Fitzgerald’s story as a movie can get.
Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby was an extraordinary film based upon F Scott Fitzgerald's Novel illustrating what life was like for the rich and poor in the 1920’s. The Great Gatsby movie brings the novel to life for entertainment of readers who enjoyed the novel by Fitzgerald. Throughout the film illustrations shows a few differences from the book rather a difference or more in some characters, themes and settings.
Courbet (1819-1877) is a realistic painter, in that a majority of his work is about everyday scenes, often depicting peasants and working people in rural areas. Howerver, Courbet is also an artist who challenged the traditional painting in the middle of the 19th century. Courbet introduced a new kind of realism, which focused on a rugged depiction of nature and people rather than an idealized and artificial one. Most paintings of the time showed wealthy people, whereas Courbet who was politically involved in socialist causes, applied his political beliefs to art. (Crapo: 240-241) Crapo writes that for Courbet “realism posed a direct challenge to the aesthetic of the academic painters. It meant the unadorned depiction of everyday scenes and
With a growing environment for a healthier lifestyle, nutritional products have become big business. Advocare is a 20 years old billion dollar direct marketing company in the health and nutrition industry (Advocare, 2017). Known for the 24 Day Challenge and Spark, it continues to remain at the top of the direct marketing and multi-level marketing health industry. The usual difference is the structure (i.e. titles) and earning schedule that comes from retail sales, bonuses and recruitment-based earnings. Three of the major competitors in this industry are Isagenix, Beachbody, and It Works! While all three have the similar intentions, programs for weight loss and goals for their customers, their strategies differ in doing so. A few caveats to this essay: 1) I do not know details of most of the other company’s products, 2) I do not intend to “bash” competitors or endorse any one, 3) Most of the information on these companies will come from their websites, and 4) With variations in product offerings, the companies listed are not for everyone.
“Primitivism” was a cultural attitude that arose in Europe during the late 19th and 20th century in opposition to the increasingly decadent and materialistic European culture. Rather than an artistic movement, “primitivism” is a European conception of foreign civilizations and lands as “simple”, less developed, and naive. This is an important distinction to make, because “primitivism” was defined in the eyes of the Europeans who saw foreign civilizations as unsophisticated, indicating that the concept of “primitivism” is heavily biased in the view of the Europeans. Paul Gauguin and Henri Matisse were two artists that were highly influenced by the concept of “primitivism,” and some similarity can be depicted in their works such as the use of female nudes, vivid colors, and artistic techniques. However, their definition and methods of achieving “primitivism” differ heavily, due to the fact that the vagueness of “primitivism” allows it to be a self-defined concept. These similarities and differences can be seen through the two works of art The Spirit of the Dead Watching by Paul Gauguin, and The Blue Nude by Henri Matisse, and the way they depict women in each of the pieces.
Van Gogh’s passion and contemplation of life, nature, and art is well represented in The Rocks. His delicate post—Impressionism innovation led him to the radical use of unnatural
The artist of this painting was named Vincent van Gogh and he was born on the 30th of March in 1853. He was known to be a self-taught painter of the post-impressionist style. Post-impressionism was used to describe the development of French art since Manet. Vincent van Gogh artist style was to practice the uses of bright colors, distinctive brush strokes, thick application of paint, and unwavering subject matter about the realities of life in this masterpiece. Vincent van Gogh found his place in art and produced emotional and visually attractive paintings over the course of a career that lasted about a decade.
This song reflects a dilemma between two choices where both sides have equal consequences. The song is about the progression of a relationship where they are so desperately in love with each other, but just can't seem to get along and have doubts whether it's really meant to be. The song is emotively effective because it touches on a very relatable subject of not knowing how to choose between two options and makes you think about what people will put themselves through to try and make something work that's just not going for them. It also shows the hard truth about how even though you try your best sometimes it’s still not enough sometimes.
Artwork, too, was just as divergent. Consider the Rococo masterpiece The Swing, by artist Jean-Honoré Fragonard. The delicate coiling of the tree branches, the ruffling of the fabric and lace on the subject’s dress, and the play of light and shadow in this painting of a woman on a swing in the forest are all visual hallmarks of the Rococo style. Again, contrast with a Neoclassic masterpiece Oath of the Horatii by Jacques-Louis David. This work, which shows
