Reluctance to Trust I remember fruit snacks. Soft and succulent, never failing to please me. Always hitting the right spots. Never causing aches. From those gummies came joy. One day, I got my wonderful fruit snacks and ate some. However these ones were hard, and bitter. They left me feeling empty and let down. From these gummies came reluctance. Reluctance to feel immediate joy when opening a pack. Now everyday at lunch I get my fruit snacks. They are delicious and make my lunch everyday. Yet I still feel like they could be bad. Due to the lingering memories of the fruit snacks from hell. Seasons of Life Life is like a television series. You wait a week for a show that is an hour long. However, in a figurative sense, comparing the series to life. It seems as if the week long wait is normal life where nothing is great but nothing is bad. The 45 minutes of the program is similar to the bad skids in life. And those brisk commercial breaks are the good parts in life. It seems as if the bad always outlasts the good. But, the monotonous motions of life reign supreme. You could look for just the negatives in that bland week. Or you could find joy in the simpler things in life. What else do you have? Fright and Failure Adults tell you life is tough. But, they don’t know what it is like everyday at my age. To never catch a break from the annoyances of others due to technology. To deprive yourself of wonderful sleep. Just so people can test you on your “intelligence” and patience. The teachers think you don’t try. But, you put in your effort and try as hard as you can. They just don’t understand that this is not your purpose in life. Then comes the pressure from Mom and Dad. Who you hate to disappoint with bad grades. Sent to your room, grounded for weeks.
