Big, Bold and Draining. Of course, you want to select a pot or re-purposed container that makes a statement. Just make sure it has drainage holes, too!
3. Solid Gold Soil. Hydrangeas need well-draining soil to thrive, so select a high-quality, organic potting soil. Bonus points if it has Myco-tone™ mycorrhizae, which uses 30 percent less water than other soils.
4. Plant it Powerful. If you want to grow blue hydrangeas, mix in Espoma Organic Soil Acidifier. For pink hydrangeas, add Espoma’s Organic Garden Lime. If you have it, mix in a bit of compost, too! Then fill planter with potting soil, and plant the hydrangea at the same height it was growing in its nursery container.
5. The Essentials. When growing hydrangeas in containers, water when the top 1” of soil is dry – or when the hydrangea begins to wilt. For best hydrangea care, feed once a year around June or July with an organic fertilizer. If you want a blue hydrangea color, feed with
Veggies, fruits, flowers oh my! Gardens have all of these wonderful, healthy, goodness! Let’s start out with the supplies we need for a delicious garden! For the soil you should buy Miracle Grow if you want your plants to stay healthy and grow large. Fruits, vegetable, and flowers already in plastic pots are a faster and easier way to grow a garden. Also, a pot with a hole in it (for the water to drain in) or the soil outside works best for a place to grow the garden. Another thing is a plastic plate to put under the pot so the water doesn’t get everywhere. The final supplies needed are a watering pot and some water.
One example is the Texas redbud, it blooms in early spring with a lovely magenta hue found in its leaves. They usually grow to be small trees or as multi-trunked shrubs growing to a height of 15-20 feet. Another plant would be the shrubby boneset which is a type of shrub that grows 2-6 feet tall with small white flowers appearing in fuzzy clusters on the much-branched stems coming from the base. A succulent example is the twisted leaf yucca, its name comes from its leaves, though the leaves are sprouted straight, they become twisted with age over time. It has flowering stalks that often grow over 5 feet tall bearing bundles of bell shaped white flowers, sprouting from April to June.
The next step included choosing appropriate Hydrilla and placing in the funnel in such a way that the uprooted part faces upwards.
Despite its importance osmosis may also damage cells by causing them to; a) shrink from water loss or b) burst from too much water gain. Plant cells [fig 3] have adapted themselves to ensure that these factors do not affect them, by forming a ridged wall, known as the cell wall, around their cells. The cell wall maintains the shape of the cell, and prevents the cell from bursting in a hypotonic medium by resisting water pressure. Plant cells have also adapted a larger vacuole, which occupies 80% or more of the cells cytoplasm (Davidson, 2004); allowing plants to store more water and nutrients per cell. Vacuoles also play a structural role in plant cells; by swelling when liquids contact them, plant vacuoles are able to control turgor pressure within the cell. This helps maintain the structural integrity of the cell as well as providing the plant with suitable amounts of water and nutrients; however the cell will never burst because the vacuole is contained within the cell wall. If plant cells are deprived of water their vacuole will begin to shrink, yet due to the cell the wall, the plant cell will be able to maintain its shape. [fig.4] Animal cells [fig 5] on the other hand do not have this

In the story’s introduction Elisa is tending to the garden that she loves more than anything in the world. She is out working in the garden doing tasks that almost seem too easy for her because of how passionate she is about her gardening. In paragraph 6 of the text it states that “the chrysanthemum stems seemed too small and easy for her energy” (103). For Elisa the chrysanthemums are a quite easy task for her and she hardly needs any energy to get much work done with them. Gardening is Elisa’s passion and a love of hers so having to do the most minimal amount of work to her chrysanthemums only enhances those qualities that she shows towards her flowers because she knows how well she can do her work. Her ease of work in her garden is again expressed further on in the story when it talks about how her “terrier fingers destroyed… pests before
