Hi.
It sounds like your process for earning a drivers license is more involved than ours. Honesty, I kinda wish our system was a bit more difficult. There are some shitty drivers on the roads here.
I have heard of the Grizzly Man documentary, I think I watched it several years back, but I don't remember much of it. I know I read a lot of articles, commenting on how tragic his (and the lady with him) ending was. I'm still not sure if I find it tragic, or simply the outcome of a person who seemed to think they could go toe to toe with some of mother nature's 'big bads'. Like I said, it's been years since I watched it.
Dick Proenneke, on the other hand, I do know. His recordings were made into movies that were aired on my local PBS (Public

I had a PHP class last year, this semester I have a JavaScript/JQuery class. In addition to the actual course work, I'm using codeacademy.com and several Android apps on my phone that are produced by SoloLearn.com.
It's challenging, I recently finished a JS assignment and it took me much longer than I thought it would. I had all my notes and script(s) from the examples we had worked on in class, but when I began work on the actual assignment, nothing was working.
The assignment itself was pretty simple. We had a basic HTML form that we needed to validate with JS. I ran my script through several validators (jslint was one) and all they would tell me was I had unexpected spaces. Which, I didn't think would break the script. In any case, I ended up emailing my Professor, letting her know I was having issues and the project would be late, but I was working through it. I ended up re-researching how to validate forms with JS and found a different method from how we were shown in class. I read over the step-by-step and used this method (with my variables, form fields etc) and was able to get everything working. Boy was it a frustrating process, but I felt friggin fantastic once I got it all
My father is a senior design hardware engineer, and consequently he works with many software engineers. For an eighth grade project, I interviewed one of my father’s coworkers, where I learn some of the kinds of projects that software engineers work on. I wanted to get a feel for programming to see if I would like it, which is why when I was a sophomore in high school, I enrolled in an online coding course called introduction to computer science.
Glancy uses Pushing the Bear to contextualize concrete history. She frames the reality of the Trail of Tears using fictional accounts from multiple narrators, while also integrating historical lists and documents into her story. Pushing the Bear is unique because it tells a history through so many perspectives. Each is relatively short, and the reader is often thrown without transition from one narrator to the next. This technique creates a unique historiography because of its ability to address historical context of a large group as opposed to an individual. By giving all participants of the Trail of Tears a voice, Glancy tells a more “true” history than one ever could using a single narrator account of history. Glancy includes many bills
Chris Servheen, the Grizzly Bear Recovery Coordinator for the US Fish and Wildlife Service, has said that the grizzly bears have met every criteria set forth towards their recovery plan. Since meeting these criteria, it may be time to have them removed from the Endangered Species List (delisted). Delisting means that the bears won’t be protected by the Endangered Species Act (ESA). As it can be seen from the grizzly delisting public comments that I agreed with, I am against having the grizzlies delisted.
Supernatural beings live among us. And they thrive best in Seattle, hometown of mysterious bear shifters and the lucky women strong enough to love them. If only it were that easy…
Grizzly bears are a very unique type of bear. The bear has long sharp rounded claws. They also have large muscles in their back that help them dig. The bear has grizzled fur to help distinguish them from black bears. It is very important that we do everything to protect the Grizzly population.
Werner Herzog’s Grizzly Man, is unlike any other nature documentary I have ever seen before. Timothy Treadwell, a bear enthusiast, is an interesting environmentalist; however, he lacks knowledge of the natural world around him. His inadequacy of understanding undomesticated animals living in the wild is what causes Treadwell to face a plethora of problems throughout his journey. For starters, Treadwell fails to understand that bears are wild animals and cannot be made into house pets. He becomes too close to the untamed mammals and attempts to be their friend. Treadwell does not put much thought into the pursuit of being their companion; instead, he simply goes to the mountains, stands in front of the bears, and tries to pet their
The acrylic painting of Shore Patrol – Brown Bear by Bob Kuhn is the focus of my museum report. Bob Kuhn had painted this for the 1968 Remington calendar and is part of a collection honoring sporting life. The painting is of a brown bear treading weightily upon an overcast shore line. The dominant element of art is texture and emphasis and focal point is the dominant principle of design at work in the painting.
Werner Herzog is arguably one of the most creative and innovative directors of our time. He has produced many pictures over the past few decades ranging from a documentary on Antarctica’s beauty, to a short series on death row inmates. Herzog gained recognition as a German director in the late 70’s to early 80’s for films like Signs of Life and Fitzcarraldo, receiving much critical acclaim. Since then he has released many box office hits like Grizzly Man and Recscue dawn, based on the true story of Dieter Dengler. Grizzly Man, released in 2006, is about the tragic death of an eccentric wild life activist named Timothy Treadwell. This analysis will examine the validity to the indexical and interpretive material in Grizzly Man. Herzog uses original Timothy Treadwell footage as well as personal interviews to represent the reality he perceives, using the reflexive and performative modes in the documentary. Although it is impossible to show the entire picture of Timothys story, there is enough information provided to support Herzogs position revealed at the end. Without Treadwell alive to speak for himself, the film remains balanced through the many interviews of people in his life.
There are many ways to distinguish a grizzly bear. One of the ways is by looking at the shape of its head. If it has a concave face, or a dip under the eyes, it is probably a grizzly bear. They have black to brown wrinkled skin of their pad, and a shoulder hump made of muscle that allows them to dig and use their paws as a defense. The bears have long, curved claws that are yellow to brown, and sometimes, yet rarely, white. Their toes fall closely together, in nearly a straight line, and the claws are twice as long as the toe pads. This bear cannot be determined just by its fur color, because it can be white, blonde, brown, or black, but the tips of most grizzly bear’s fur is a lighter color, to give it the grizzled
In Bears, a Disneynature documentary film, directors Alastair Fothergill and Keith Scholey filmed two Alaskan brown bear cubs with their Mother, in the coastal mountain regions of Alaska. This documentary chronicles the first year of life of the cubs Amber and Scout with their mother Sky. While facing a constant struggle in providing for and teaching her cubs how to survive in the Alaskan wild, she must also strive to protect her cubs against the changing landscape and climate, other rival male bears, and roaming wolfs. Throughout the film the audience will discover that while the eating habits of bears are crucial to their survival and growth, they still struggle in finding enough to eat to prepare for the oncoming winter. These
Werner Herzog directed a documentary film called Grizzly Man to show viewers how much interest Timothy Treadwell demonstrated towards human nature and how he demonstrates human nature through himself. Timothy Treadwell spent thirteen long summers in Alaskan Peninsula. He went to go portray his love and protection to the wild life and grizzly bears, which lead him to his miserable death. Herzog creates a sequence of scenes, comments, and interviews from people who is well connected directly or indirectly with Treadwell. His purpose of directing the Grizzly Man documentary through Treadwell’s own film was to convey the viewers the difference of human beings and the wild life animals. Herzog’s main effective argument was to convey how courageous and how insane Treadwell was to spend thirteen summers in the wild life of grizzly bears.
This is an evaluative essay comparing the short story, “The Bear Came Over the Mountain”, by Alice Munro and the movie Away from Her (inspired by the book). The short story provides a history of the relationship between Grant and Fiona. Fiona is the wife and main character of this story with the focus on her Alzheimer’s. Grant is her husband of 44 years. The story begins with their playful young love and their time at the university. The story quickly transitions from past to present. Fiona is placed in a nursing home and their relationship changes. This essay will identify the challenges Fiona and Grant endure while dealing with Alzheimer’s disease.
The movie I choose to compare to my experience was the “Clan of the Cave Bear”, this movie was about a girl Ayla, who lost her mother in an earthquake at a young age and was found by Iza a woman from the Clan who convinced the a group of cave people who were searching for a new cave to take in Ayla. Growing up Ayla was faced with a lot of tragic situations. However, she did not give up instead she allowed her difficulties to make her stronger. When Ayla first got around the cave people, everything was new to her and she had to learn to adapt to their lifestyle.
In responding , one can say that teenagers always complain about the ¡§grown up¡¨ world and its rules. Teens find it rather hard to be part of the grown up worl until they have the licence to go out on their own. Basically, the whole concept of graduated licencing is not so complicated. There are only a few changes: 1) There must be a fully licensed driver beside you with at least four years of driving experience in the G1 level. 2) There is a year waiting period between the G1 level and G2 level. 3) New drivers may only drive in cities, not on highways, and only during daytime hours. Even though there is a 1 month waiting period between G1 level and G2 level, it can be shortened to 8 months by taking a driver¡¦s insurance training course. During this course, the driver will learn more about techniques on driving, and it will cost less when getting car insurance later on.
For this project, we were asked to create a website (coding) tailored to an audience. To start off, it would be easier to talk about the difficulties I faced during this assignment, and that is—I’m not a DTC major. I have never coded before, so the challenges were to create something I am not familiar with, and step out of my comfort zone. I kept having to do everything by trial and error, so I would type something in on TextWrangler, save it, refresh my website to see if it did what I wanted to do, and if it didn’t, I had to go back and try to fix it. This process made it easy because after I had the code down, I understood why it worked, and if I needed to redo that process, then I already knew how to do it.
