Over the past 70 years, the story of good versus evil has been an attention grabber for young and old audiences. DC Comics has been one of the primary sources of comic book characters and during that time, several characters have been introduced and modernized to restore the reader's’ interest.When a character’s origin does not match with another character’s in the timeline, DC will reintroduce that character with a story that differs from the original. Even some of the more well known characters seem to return with similar but different backstories or abilities.

These recreations range from being a museum curator fascinated with Native American culture and their techniques of hunting to being a metahuman with extreme marksman skills. His secret identity is Oliver Queen born in Star City. Similar to Batman, he is an orphaned business man by day and a vigilante by night. In the Golden Age version of Green Arrow (introduced in 1941), Oliver Queen was a wealthy museum curator and an archaeologist. His friend and ward, Roy Harper, were the dynamic duo, Green Arrow and Speedy. The new revamped Green Arrow has a new backstory this time. As a young billionaire playboy, he travels to the South China Sea and shipwrecks on an island. There he is trained how to survive by a man named Slade Wilson (later becomes Deathstroke, an iconic villain in the DC universe), and archery by a girl named Shado. Back in Starling City (later named Star City), Oliver saves Roy Harper from a crazed man killing citizens on an abandoned train. Oliver then agrees to train Harper to aid him in cleaning up the city of criminals. He joins Oliver and is named Speedy. He later takes on the name “Arsenal” after a criminal states that Harper is just another piece of the Green Arrow’s arsenal and that he is just using
