5 weirdest moments of Goldust's career
Every time a list of bizarre characters who have stepped inside a wrestling ring for any promotion is made Goldust will feature on top of each and every one of those lists. In September 1995, Goldust debuted as a heel character that played mind games with his adversaries using his sexually suggestive antics. He used to make coquette and indecent advances towards his opponents during the matches. Goldust portrayed a character that was a drag queen. He always wore a golden jump suit and face paint with little splashes of other colours on the jumpsuit and a golden wig. In those days WWF was pushing the envelope with a risqué product and the Goldust gimmick was a successful attempt towards it. Over the years

But, when you learn that Goldust was the brains behind this idea you realise how dedicatedly Dustin Runnels portrays his character and how he contributed in taking this outlandish gimmick to heights that it has reached in the WWE.
3. A distasteful stuttering gimmick
In early 2003, Goldust was attacked by Randy Orton and Batista as he did not tell the whereabouts of Scott Steiner with them. He was viciously assaulted and thrown into a round tube by the young Evolution members that resulted in him getting electrocuted. As result of which Goldust contacted a stutter and Tourette like tics. It was explained that the electrocution had disturbed the mind and speech of Goldust. This gimmick was meant to be a comic act back then. But, it has offended a lot of people as it fun made of people suffering from disorders like Tourette syndrome, stammering etc.
The most distasteful moment of the gimmick came when respected wrestlers Triple H and Ric Flair laughed on Goldust. The PG era had not dawned by then and such crass gimmicks were still prevalent in the WWE Universe. It’s just one of those things that people are happy not seeing in the PG era.

1. Goldust’s bondage gimmicks
Goldust was a character that was known for his quirky attires throughout his career. In the late 1997, Goldust was paired with an equally crazy valet, Luna Vachon. Though this pairing did not last for a very long time, it will be known for a lascivious gimmick.
During this short period, Luna brought Goldust to the ring with a chain around his neck and gag ball in his mouth. Goldust had ditched his golden outfit for a green one. The new outfit even had silver spikes covering his nipples.
This was a ludicrous act and was not even entertaining. Thank God that the angle was not continued and is not mentioned on TV as it was the freakiest moment of the Bizarre One’s career.
Goldust is one of those characters who had thrived in the Pre-PG era. You can still trust him with sneaking up on people at the most unsuspecting places. He will surely be a WWE Hall-of-Famer when he retires, but, will continue to entertain the fans with his spooky character till
The author utilizes colors to aid in the development of Gawain’s character: “Then they brought him his shield, which was of bright red, … gleaming gold” (Weston 12). The red that Gawain wears symbolizes the passion that he shows toward the deal he made with the Green Knight. The gold symbolizes values and nobility two things that Gawain holds to a high standard. Another character whose colors stand out are the Green Knight’s he wears green and gold. The green represents the amount of envy that King Arthur's sister
The host's wife gave the Green Knight a green girdle . The meaning of the host’s wife’s girdle changes over the course of the narrative. The girdle is made out of green silk and embroidered with gold thread, which were said to be colors that link to the Green Knight. She claims it has the power to keep him from harm, eventually the Knight found out, there are no magical powers to it at all. After the Green Knight reveals his identity as the host, Gawain curses the girdle as representing a coward. He wears it from then on as a badge of his sinfulness. Following in his footsteps for support, Arthur and his followers wear green silk baldrics that look just like Gawain’s girdle. The green girdle represents his survival. He wears the girdle which shows his code of "honor". Gawain says he will forever wear the green girdle as a sign of his failure, "a man may hide his misdeed, but never erase it." When the other knights wear something similar, it is a tribute to Gawain. This transforms the green belt to a symbol of honor rather than failure.
When his decision was made to keep the girdle for his own instead of handing it over to the lord as promised, his character changed from one of truth to one only concerned about his love of his mortal life. This love drove him to obtain attributes of cowardice and vice, rather than valour. His grace and purity he once possessed had now subsided and revealed a sense of corruption. He lied to the lord at the end of his visit stating that “all that [he owed]...[was] openly paid” (1941) and he continued on his way to meet the Green Knight. The green girdle's meaning in the story has changed from one of possible virtue to one of extreme vice. It now represents the dishonour Sir Gawain committed rather than the noble decision he should have made in handing over the girdle to the lord. With this green girdle in his possession, Sir Gawain became greedy and his flaws became visible. Although the knight did not recognize it yet, these flaws would prove to be an aid in his growth and maturity.
The poem consistently depicts Gawain as the perfect knight. The description of Gawain’s shield, given as he dresses to embark on his search to find the Green Chapel, advertises Gawain’s glorious virtues. The shield, with a five pointed endless knot on the front, represents the five most important parts of knighthood. Gawain follows the points to perfection, as “For, ever faithful in five things, each in fivefold manner, / Gawain was reputed good and, like gold well refined, / He was devoid of all villainy, every virtue displaying” (Stone 27.14-16). Gawain does not simply strive to be chivalrous and knightly; he is the epitome of righteousness. When the Green Knight goads King Arthur into accepting his swing-for-swing bet, Gawain, recognizing the dangerous nature of this bet, swiftly steps forward and convinces Arthur to allow him to strike the Green Knight. Gawain willingly puts the safety of the kingdom and King Arthur over his
In English folklore green was used to show rebirth, and a youth's passing (Lewis 50-51). In the story the sash also represents cowardice, he gave into the lady and lied about the present (Goldhurst 61-65). The fear of death ended up causing his downfall. In the end the sash was worn by all at the Round Table, to show them the lesson learned by Gawain both in his "rebirth" in learning his lesson and in remembrance of his sacrifice for King Arthur.
Having to research each party, I found out that Republicans and Democrats are way farther apart than at any point in history. Each party such as the Republicans and Democrats express their point of view by giving negative views of the opposite party. The republicans want to end slavery for good making their symbol as an elephant. The Democrats were people who support slavery and disagree with it as well. The democrats have the donkey as a symbol, symbolizing “let the people rule”. Looking at the graph, the Democrat Party has jumped from 17% to 43% in the last 20 years. The Republican Party has also gained more people jumping from 16% to 38%.
“The greatest adventure is what lies ahead” J.R.R. Tolkien. I believe that people have different personalities inside of them, and sometimes you require adventures to find them. Bilbo Baggins is a man that I perceive to have multiple personalities, and the differences between those personalities are great. There is a bold line that divides the personalities of which I like to call his “Baggins personality” and his “Tookish personality”. Among his Tookish personality, there are many traits such as being adventurous and bold. Although his Baggins personality has much contrast, being cautious, vigilant and unadventurous. I speculate that most people have different personalities such as Bilbo Baggins, notwithstanding the fact that their personalities
His obviously foreign appearance, as compared to Arthur's knights, makes him a symbol of the Otherworld, which is reinforced when he survives after losing his head to an axe. It is also notable that where the knights follow courtly customs and speak courteously, the Green Knight rides his horse straight into the hall demanding to speak with the king; he challenges their civilized customs with the savage behavior of nature and the Otherworld. The symbolism of the girdle therefore contains elements of nature and the Otherworld, which is reinforced by the fact that it comes from the house of the Green Knight (Bertilak later reveals it is his girdle). The symbolism of the color green is somewhat more ambiguous, since something as fundamental as a color tends to acquire many meanings. It commonly represents nature, which reinforces the symbol of nature in the Green Knight and the girdle, but, through nature, can also represent the witchcraft performed by faeries, such as Morgan le Fay. According to Bertilak, it is Morgan le Fay's magic that is responsible for the appearance of the Green Knight in Arthur's court, but the symbolism also indicates to the reader that there may be some enchantment or curse on the girdle (and it is described later as having supernatural qualities).
The Green Knight gives he challenge of delivery one blow with the axe, and if he survives, then the man who took the challenge will have to meet him at his chapel in a year to face the consequences of his actions. When the Green knight survives Sir Gawain’s blow, which decapitates him, he is displayed as some kind of otherworldly being, or at the very least more than human. This can be interpreted as a Pagan element of the story, but it can also be interpreted as a Christian allegory for Satan or
In Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Gawain is presented a green girdle by Lady Bertilak after their sexual encounter (1830-1835). There have been many differing opinions on what the girdle represents, but I believe the most pertinent symbol that the green girdle stands for is the temptation that Gawain faces several times throughout the story. The girdle not only stands for the temptations that Gawain faces, but ultimately shows the ignorance Gawain exhibits throughout the story. At the end of the story, Gawain shows the girdle to Arthur’s court, inciting laughter, as well as a recollection of why Gawain received the girdle in the first place (2505-2506). If Gawain had
The Green Knight represents the statue of nature. A symbolic representation of character is also seen in the visits from the Lord’s wife herself, for she is a vampire. She is named so in her attempt to suck out the honor the knight so strongly exuded. Lady Birtilak’s encounters with Gawain mark not only a touchstone, but in her manipulative manner, a seductive trick. She appears charming, witty, and wise. No man in her home shall refuse her of her attempts. If one does so, she would take grave offense therefore Gawain remained accepting of her seductive attempts. He allowed the kiss, in the sake of respect on her behalf. She was already succeeding. “And it came to his heart…it might well be worth it. So he listened in silence and suffered the lady to speak, and she pressed the sash upon him and begged him to take it, and Gawain did, and she gave him the gift with great pleasure and begged him, for her sake, to say not a word. This business would never be known to a man.” L. 227-237). Gawain was distressed knowing the alluring sash was calling his name. The course of action in the textual evidence leads one to recognize the metaphoric vampirism. The romantic setting reveals the alluring mood. The danger is enticing. Unfortunately, Sir Gawain is victimized in her trickery, he accepts the sash for future protection. A key aspect of Vampirism: Selfishness- results in taking
Gawain gained his maturity in the most unique way, but it all began with him as a young, weak individual. On one particular day, as a big, monstrous man wearing all green approached the knights of the Round Table, intimidation was felt in every knights under the rule of King Arthur. Soon after arriving, the massive man taunted the Round Table knight’s in order to convince them compete against him in a challenge. In the challenge, any brave person could exchange the Green Knight a swing of an axe for the swing of an axe. No one wanted to stand up to the man in green, for he shot fear into anyone who dared to look at him. During the time of this visit, Gawain could have been considered weak. He was only in the beginning of his journey on becoming mature, and that would not be the only journey he would be taking. After some tension between the knights of the Round Table and the Green Knight, King Arthur accepted the challenge. Knowing of the danger King Arthur was in, Gawain pleaded to take the place of his uncle. He gave his claim, telling the others of his weak status and unimportance in the world. Once the claim was given, the immature Gawain took hold of the green and gold axe, and gave a swing that beheaded the Green Knight. The headless man, to the surprise of all, picked his head off the ground, gave a speech, and left on his horse. Although Gawain exhibited some strength in his actions, he did not become completely mature from the single situation.
Gawain first obtains the girdle from the host’s wife as something to remember. Gawain clearly feels uncomfortable about this, but does not bring it up to the host when he is supposed to exchange something in return for whatever the host caught during that day’s hunt. However, after the host’s wife telling him that the girdle will protect him from harm, the girdle now takes on the true role of a magic weapon. When Gawain meets with the green knight, he is unharmed, (with the exception of the cut on his neck). He believes that he was unharmed because of the green girdles magical powers. However, this is not the case. The green knight had no real intentions to hurt him, but Gawain obviously couldn’t have known this, so he credits his good luck to the green girdle. Only later does he recognize that the girdle is actually a symbol of his failures. He swears to wear it forever as a reminder of his lack of courage and honesty. When he returns home, the other knights start wearing green girdles as a symbol of their respect and admiration that they have for Gawain. In this way, the reader can clearly see the various different things the girdle symbolism. The girdle is probably one of the most important parts to the entire story since it is so multidimensional and provides insight into numerous situations
The colour green in Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is another important symbol used in this poem. The colour green is evident in the character of the Green Knight and in the green girdle that Gawain accepted of Lady Bertilak. The connection between the colour of the Green Knight and of the green girdle can be seen as a symbol of the inevitable failure of Gawain. As Gawain accepted the girdle he failed to keep his word to Bertilak and the Green Knight and also failed two of his knightly virtues, chastity and courtesy. The colour green therefore can be seen as a symbol of Gawain’s betrayal in the poem. “Þis is þe token of vntrawþe þat I am tan inne, And I mot nedez hit were wyle I may last; For mon may hyden his harme, bot vnhap ne may hit” (SGGK, 2509-11). This quote discusses the girdles meaning to Gawain once he arrives back to Arthurs court. It is described as a ‘token’ of dishonesty and Gawain believes he must now wear it
Growing up I never had an interest in wrestling. I had always thought it was boring and rough. I was taught it was too disgusting to watch and to never like fighting of any kind. I was raised by a single mother, so we were raised to dislike violence and gore. I honestly did not know anything about wrestling. On the same note, I had no idea who
