My name is George Washington and I am the first United State president and a general (1732-1799). I George Washington was born on February 22, 1732, in Westmoreland County, Virginia. Washington served as a general and commander-in-chief of the colonial armies during the American Revolution, and later became the first president of the United States; I was serving from 1789 to 1797. Hamilton also thought of another idea which was taxes, collecting taxes by using government power to enforce people to pay taxes. However, it did not worked as smoothly as we thought because a rebellion, the Whiskey Rebellion, took place after imposing a tax on whiskey to the people of Kentucky, Virginia, Maryland, and western Pennsylvania. As president, I had no choice but to quench this rebellion although it had not become a dangerous armed resistance. People were not happy with the direction that my administration was taking. Another problem I had was the foreign Affair, Spain kept contesting the northern border after a previous failed negotiation, and Indians were mad because settlers kept invading their lands. The war department tried to negotiate treaties with the Indians to not avail, but since the government wanted those territories, I had to engage in what it is known as the War of the Old Northwest of 1790. I sent troops to stop the resistance. I took a stand on our position toward France and the treaty by issuing a proclamation of American neutrality that clearly indicated that the US would not help the French and would be "friendly and impartial" toward both sides in
Everyone knows George Washington as the first president, but most people do not know his other roles in the creation of the United States of America. In Joseph J. Hamilton believed that the government should be near-monarchical in order to keep human error in check. He was opposed to the cheap sale of western land, and believed that the Constitution was meant to be loosely interpreted, and most of his ideas required this view. His policies were highly centralized, focussed on helping merchants and utilized the doctrine of mercantilism and government controlled economic development, in order to legitimize the US on a global scale and make the economy succeed. Hamilton devised a plan that would help the US economy prosper through public credit, creating a national bank and raising revenue through tariffs. Looking globally, as many Federalists did, Hamilton recognized that the US would need loans from other countries, but needed to show that it could return these loans first. He suggested that Congress pay back the money that had been acquired during the Revolutionary War. He also created a national debt to pay back other holders, and assumed the state war debts, which would favor the upper class creditors. In addition to this, Hamilton persuaded Congress to create the

George Washington was born February 22, 1732. He was elected as the first president by the Electoral College unanimously in 1789. Washington is commonly called the "Father of his country" since he played a major role in fighting for independence and helped form the government we now have. Many of his leadership practices became the template for the way politics have proceeded following his terms. For example his use of a group of counselors known as a "cabinet" is still in practice today. He only served for two terms and then stepped down which became, for the most part, the accepted norm for future presidents. George Washington is associated with some folklore tales such as being widely known for admitting to his father that he chopped
