George Washington, John Adams, And Thomas Jefferson

Out of all of the founding fathers, Benjamin Franklin in my opinion is the one who had the greatest impact on our nation and still has a great influence on our nation today. Mostly people are familiar with Benjamin Franklin from his head being on the front of the 100 dollar bill, but there’s more to him than just his face being on the 100 dollar bill. He made a huge impact on us and not everyone realizes it, but that’s how he made it on the 100 dollar bill. Not only was Benjamin Franklin apart of founding our nation, he was also scientist, diplomat, businessman, and philosopher. Benjamin Franklin was born on January 17th, 1706 in Boston, Massachusetts to soap maker Josiah Franklin and his second wife Abigail Folger. Benjamin Franklin was apart of a big family and he was the 10th child out of 16 siblings. His siblings names were Jane Mocum, James Franklin, Anne Harris, Joseph Franklin I,  Samuel Franklin, Sarah Davenport, Mary Holmes, Hannah Cole, Josiah Franklin Jr, Ebenzer Franklin, Peter Franklin, Thomas Franklin, John Franklin, Lydia Scott, Elizabeth Douse, and Joseph Franklin II.  When Benjamin Franklin was younger his father wanted him to become a preacher, so he sent him away to a grammar school when he was only eight years old. Serving as President of the United States is not an easy task to fulfill. Presidents are elected to preside over everyone within the country. Meeting and exceeding all needs of the people can be difficult and not every President has done a great job at that. Over the years, the presidency position has changed immensely; it no longer is the dominant power. The power has been balanced and shifted over time. Although there have been many great Presidents, my top five are George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Polk, Abraham Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt; through their character, accomplishments, and work ethic.

Through out the reading of all of these documents, i have to say that to me Jefferson was the best.There are many reasons why I think this. One reason is because in paragraph 6 of document 3, it explains how he built the library system, and helped with the construction of University of Virginia. He impacted the lives of americans in so many ways.

These men, Hamilton, Burr, Jefferson, Franklin, Washington, Adams, and Madison, were important contributors to development of our country in many ways. Hamilton had tried to push policies, funding and assumption, in order to fix America’s debt problem with foreign and domestic debt and restoring America’s credit with European bankers. His policy for funding was passed, which also gave bonds that were given to soldiers but were now in rich peoples’ hands, credit. Burr was known as the father of modern political campaigning, as he helped drum up support for Jefferson during their run for the presidency. Despite the disparity in the popularity ratings between the two presidents, John Adams and Abraham Lincoln are both indispensable figures in American history. In times of crisis, both of these men made big, consequential decisions to keep the country from falling apart. However, while Lincoln is commemorated for abolishing slavery and leading the Union in the Civil War, John Adams is remembered for the mistakes of his presidency—the Alien and Sedition Acts he issued that took away certain constitutional rights endowed to the American people. Both presidents thought they were doing what was necessary at the time to keep the United States from falling apart, but the contrasting approaches they used left opposite impressions. This can be contributed to the fact that almost all aspects of their lives, personal and professional, were opposite. So, while both presidents essentially did the same thing in saving America from falling apart, their reputations are so different now because of the way their lives and situations influenced the decisions they made.

Alexander Hamilton, recognized as one of the Founding Fathers of our country, had a great impact on the wars and political issues of his time. He presented himself as a well respected man and proved himself worthy of the tasks he was given. He impressed many people and played a substantial part in influencing where America stands today. Although his early childhood circumstances were difficult, putting him at a disadvantage, Alexander proved himself capable of achieving success all on his own, without the need of others’ assistance or provision. His efforts ultimately played a significant role in the founding of America.

Thomas Jefferson is considered one of the most important people in United States History. He was the third president, and he even drafted the Declaration of Independence. Many think he also had a significant role in drafting the U.S. Constitution as well. This just happens to be incorrect. Jefferson was away in France during the summer of 1787 when this important document was being drafted. He, however, was still slightly involved, but he put the majority of his efforts in the foreign affairs that were going on at the time. Because of his efforts overseas to the United States and the other Ministers, Jefferson had little to do with the Constitution but to give his position on the matter.

In the course of the history of the United States of America, many great men have made their mark. The list of these men becomes ever shorter as the scope is narrowed to those who served as president. Two men in contention for such recognition are presidents Thomas Jefferson and Andrew Jackson. Whether or not they are considered great is subjective, but there is a convincing amount of evidence that might sway one’s opinion. Based on their policies, actions, and outcomes as president, neither Jefferson nor Jackson can be considered great presidents.

Most Americans know who the founding fathers are. But, not many know what they have done for us and how hard they have worked to be a part of the American Revolution. Subconsciously, each of these men had a great impact on the revolution that started this country. Thomas Jefferson loved education and was well known for being the true author of the Declaration of Independence and for his wisdom. Benjamin Franklin, respectfully known as a diplomat, was also known as a great inventor, printer, and writer. Thomas Paine was a spectacular journalist who is best known for his anonymous pamphlet called “Common Sense.” Through these great men, our country rose.

Among historic figures of The United States in the Nineteenth century, James Madison is well known. He is best known as the fourth president of The United States following Thomas Jefferson in 1808. Among his many accomplishments are the signing of The Declaration of Independence and the formulation of our United States Constitution. Most Americans do not realize that one of his greatest achievements was the separation clause in the amendments to The Constitution.

James Madison, born in 1751 in Orange County, Virginia, was America’s fourth president, he served from 1809 - 1817. He wrote The Federalist Paper, with John Jay and Alexander Hamilton. Many people referred to him as The Father of The Constitution because of his many contributions to the ratification of the Constitution.

Private Guilt vs. Public Guilt The Scarlet Letter, shows examples of both private and public guilt throughout the novel. The main character, Hester Prynne, is a great example of public guilt. Where as, Dimmesdale is used to represent private guilt. Dimmesdale has a hard time dealing with his guilt then, Hester had.

James Madison, (1751-1836), 4th President of the United States of America. Although he served eight years each as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, as secretary of state, and as president, Madison's principal contribution to the founding of the United States was as "Father of the Constitution."
