Genesis places God in the center of the human identity. “So God created man, male and female, in His own image and it was very good (Gen 1:27; 31 emphasis added). Hindson reminds us, “People are created with a God awareness, even lost people with cry out to God when they are in dire trouble.” The human identity was created with God’s heart and character at its core. It is indeed hard to imagine or comprehend such a quote in a society where women are often portrayed as sex symbols and sex objects. Media is one of the major sources for gender depictions in our society and it has played a major role in placing unfathomable gender roles on women in regards to how they are to behave, and address themselves within a society. The gender depictions of women in our society are truly very saddening and mind-blowing!

In Genesis one and 2, it provides a full understanding of God’s creations and wisdom of human nature because it is free from evil. God created everything from nothing; to be perfect from his perspective. Human nature is revealed from Genesis one with God creating the Earth and the Heavens and creating the man of his likeness. The Bible explains how God created the man named Adam from the dust and was placed in the Eden’s Garden (Genesis 2:7). Adam helped God to take care of the land and all his creation. The Bible explains, Humanity was created to work and serve, keep the garden (Genesis 2:15). Subsequently, Eve was created; “God had created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him: male and female he created them” (Genesis 1:27). Adam and Eve would help God because He wanted them to multiply the Earth by taking care of his creations (Hiles & Smith, 2014). God is the sovereign ruler which he created humanity as how he should have wanted. The Bible explains about human nature that God created everything to be distinct from animals and all His creation. Humankind is able to show on our nature because we are capable of reasoning. God created all differently and we were all born naked and pure as Adam and Eve were. God created in his own image that why we all look different; we are unique in His eyes. Also, God created us to be good because we are born innocent of all evil and loving God.

Genesis, the first book of the Christian Old Testament in the Bible, was written around the 5th century B.C. Genesis is also a creation story featuring God and his creation of Adam and Eve. The title Genesis means “beginning” in the Hebrew language.

Gen (2) revealed the formation of mankind from the dust of the ground Adam was made to take care of the land. Then God thought man should not be alone and form Eve from one of Adams Rib first to help him take care of the living creatures take care of the earth and obey the laws that were given to them, by being fruitful and multiple the earth as well as taking care everything on earth. In the Hebrew Bible, a significant section where this idea can be seen is in the beginning with the story of Adam and Eve, specifically in Genesis 4. When Eve is manipulated to eat the forbidden fruit, it poses the idea that the suffering of humankind was caused by a woman, showing the idea that woman react without consideration or senselessly, when really Eve was only acting on a very human trait, curiosity. When Eve convinces Adam to eat the forbidden fruit, one of gods punishment to Eve is “Your man shall be your longing, and rule over you” (p.97). Or when God describes Eve as “his woman”, God is essentially saying she is not her own independent person and is meant to be owned by men. This passage alone shows that women are viewed as people that were meant to be controlled; that men were always meant to be above them.

This sentiment is significant because it asserted that men should not have the authority to exclude women from the dealings of the church. Although the men stated that they had “Apostolic authority”, it is explained that in the eyes of God, that both men and women are equal. If this is the belief, then women should be able to hold a place of authority in the church and subsequently within their state. The resolution to this, would be to assert the stance they both men and women are equal before God, and as result women should be recognized as an equal. By placing women as an equal, it would allow them to hold their place in church affairs and preach their religion

The book of Genesis records the creation of the world and everything in it, as well the early relationship between God and humanity. God creates man, Adam, “from the dust of the ground” (Genesis 2:7) and places him in a paradise on Earth called the garden of Eden, where he also places the tree of knowledge of good and evil. From the man, God creates a woman and tells them that they “may freely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of knowledge of good and evil [they] shall not eat, for in the day that [they] eat of it [they] shall die (Genesis 2:16). Despite this warning, the woman, Eve, is eventually tempted to eat the fruit of the treat and convinces Adam to do the same, causing them to be cast out of the garden. The Genesis creation account, as told in Genesis (Gen.) 2-3, traditionally is seen through a normative lens as male dominant. As stated in Gen. 2:18-23 God believes that man needs a helper, who will complement him and satisfy his needs for companionship. According to God “‘it is not good that the man should be alone’” This companion is intended to be ‘ezer kenegdo, directly translated to mean “a helper suitable for him,” yet through the translations from the original Hebrew to English, the notion of a helper suitable for man has vanished; instead, the English word helper implies “a subordinate, indeed, an inferior” to him. By understanding Gen. 2:18 in its original Hebrew, it strengthens the argument that the “helper” is equal to man and cannot be perceived as inferior. This concept is further supported in Gen. 2:22-23 .

The “Book of the City of Ladies” by Christine Di Pizan is a reflection of the ideas of the humanist belief that stresses the potential value and goodness of human beings. Christine Di Pixan goes through a transformation of looking at the value of women through the judgment of others more than what she herself felt and knew. She went through the realization that God does not create “ a vile creature… abode of every evil and vice” (page 2). From this, she came to the conclusion that since God is a perfect being, he is unable to create imperfection. In the Bible, in Genesis 1:26 it states, “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the cattle, and over all the

Prayer is prevalent theme in The Genesis Diary. To a Monk, prayer is not merely sitting in silence, repeating words and isolation. When Paul says pray without ceasing, I understand what he meant through reading this book. I like this quote in the book, " I could include all my thoughts, ideas, plans, projects, worries, and concerns and make them into prayer. Instead of directing my attention only to God, I might direct my attention to all my attachments and lead them into the all-embracing arms of God."
