I was born in the year 1997, which makes part of Generation Y. Generation Y discussed on pages 33 and 34 in the textbook. I am a straight, white woman who lives with her parents. I believe in getting a higher education and saving money for the future when I can. My family and I are not racially and ethnically diverse like the book tells that most of my generation are. I do, to some point, believe in a speak-your-mind philosophy. I live in a two parent household that lovingly cared for me and allowed me to participate in activities such as dance, softball, and other group activities growing up. My childhood is similar to the description in the textbook on how Generation Y was raised. I also agree with the book, that I do appeal a job with flexibility because I would like to be able to have a job and a family in the distant future. …show more content…

I mostly have to concentrate on one task at a time for the tasks to be done in the manner I would like them to. I am open to learning and experiencing different cultures like the book stated. The book states that my generation spends the most money on clothes, vehicles, and college. College is what I spend most of my money on. My car was a gift for my high school graduation and it has manual roll down windows and locks that have to be locked individually, so I would not say I spend a lot of my on my car. I only pay for gas and oil changes in my car; my parents pay for my insurance. When I buy clothes, I look for clothes at a reasonable price that will last a long time.
