Gay Marriage Should Not Be Legal
It’s unfortunate that people have misunderstood the meaning of marriage.
Marriage is not just a term to describe relationship that are precious to us, it’s more than just a union of heart and mind; it’s an institution between a man and a woman.
Biblically, marriage is a lifetime union of a man and a woman, primarily for the purpose of building a family and providing a stable environment for that family (1 Corinthian 7:2
16)
According to Peter Sprigg, same sex marriage should not be legalized because of its immediate and long-term harms that would come from legalizing it.
I strongly agree with him, yes, same sex marriage should not be legalized, why should such a union be legalized when it will create more harm than good? More problems for the society than the benefits it will create? I strongly agree with Sprigg, because from the beginning of the creation of the universe, marriage was meant for one man and one woman not for one man and another man. When God created the first man, Adam he created Eve to stay by his side, to be fruitful and multiply according to Genesis 1:27. He did not create another man for Adman; this means that God never wanted same sex marriage to exist in the first place. If he would have wanted it, he would have allowed reproduction and make it more healthy and natural.
Another reason why Sprigg believed gay marriage should not be legalized is that “Freedom of Conscience and Religious
In this epistle Paul is making the point that God’s desire is that Jews and Gentiles are united in position and privilege in Him. Paul is shedding light on the fact that God wants to establish a new unity where racial and national distinctions disappear in Christ. Christ has broken down the middle wall of hate and division. The dividing wall of racial enmity has been destroyed once and for all. The old enmity of personal and national prejudice, and exclusiveness between Jews and Gentiles was slain at Calvary. God’s purpose is one new people (Christian), Christ’s body the church. It is one new man made up of new men (2Cor 5:17-18).
I believe marriage should be between a man and a woman, and ever since the recognition of marriage in all cultures, it has been that way. A lot of people have been trying to look at it as a right of the people protected under the Constitution. I say that it is being examined completely wrong. Marriage is, by my definition, the union of a man and woman recognized by the state. I do not think it is the union of two people. Regardless of what I believe, I do not think it was legally right for the Court to require all of the states to recognize gay marriage. According to Chief Justice Roberts,
Looking at Marriage today, as the age of enlightenment has hit America, Timothy Keller says in his book The Meaning of Marriage: Facing the Complexities of Commitment with the Wisdom of God, “Marriage was seen as a contract between two parties for mutual individual growth and satisfaction. In this view, married persons married for themselves, not to fulfill responsibilities to God or society.” Although marriage is only between two people, the concepts can be applied to any community, as God ordained marriage as the holy community, sealed by and through him. Marriage is supposed to be all about serving one another, and growing spiritually and morally through the years, not about feeding off of sexual gains and other individual desires. This is why divorce rates are so high, and why so many fights happen. It is because America has lost the definition and beauty of marriage, as it is often portrayed as a trap, or a “settle down” type thing. Not at all, because marriage is all about spiritual growth through each other and the
Curley's wife is a character that plays a significant role in Noval as her death is what starts the chaos and the reason for Lennie's ultimate death. The technique used to develop this character is tone to show what emotions the character is feeling and the atmosphere in the scene. The technique is used in the following quote. “Awright, cover 'im up if ya wanta. Whatta I care about?
Same-sex marriage should be marriage because everyone is equal, love is always right, and people have a right to choose their own soulmates. First, equality is a basic right, which means everyone should get the same treatment. The restriction against same-sex marriage is an offense to the dignity of lesbians and gays, because it limits the range of relationship options open to them (Mello). The limit of same-sex marriage is against homosexuals to enjoy the same right as heterosexuals. It is not fair for homosexual to get the different treatment. There is a law to declare that legalizing homosexual marriage is to achieve the basis of equality come true. (Albertson).
Marriage is a union between two people. The purpose of marriage is to love and support the other person, through good times and through bad. With this being said, marriage has the opportunity to make you a better person, who is more flourished and happier. Although marriages have the opportunity to happy, lifelong relationships, they also have the opportunity to be loveless and more of a burden than a gift.
Marriage is a system of binding a man and woman together for the reproduction, care (physical/emotional), and socialization of offspring. Marriage is a social and legal contract between a couple and the state in which they reside that regulates their economic and sexual relationship. (David, Caroline: 2005)
Marriage, also known as the matrimonial covenant, is to establish a partnership between a man and a woman for the entirety of their lives and which is ordered by its nature to the good of the spouses and the procreation
Gay marriage should be legal because as woman and man, all individuals have the same right in society; because same-sex couples can constitute a good based family; because it is just a way to make official a common union nowadays, even with the religious issue; because it is not related to polygamy; and because love matters and it does not differ in nature according to the sex of its object or the person who experiences it.
As we know, same-sex marriage has been a prominent issue that has so many arguments not just in the United States, but around the world over many years now. There is absolutely nothing more controversial than same-sex marriage in gay rights topic. Everyone has different opinions about same-sex marriage whether it should be legal or not. We now have to consider two aspects that are moral and religious. These two form a fundamental belief that same-sex couples and opposite-sex couples are different. Based on the definition of marriage, the view of religion, bad effects to children, and the lifestyle that should not be encouraged; therefore, the government should not legalize the same-sex marriage.
I truly believe that gay marriage is a right and you should be able to love whoever you want. Nobody should be able to stop you from getting married and living life the way it was meant to be lived. I am on this side for many reasons. First, I feel very strongly about anti-discrimination and think that not allowing someone to marry the person they love is just horrible. Also, not allowing people to marry could cause an unpeaceful environment and I think that we should all be at peace with the people around us. Third, for most homosexual people they are born that way and there is no way they can love anybody else unless it is there same sex, so we are denying the right for people to be themselves and live a happy life the way they were born. Finally, a quote from is “People should be allowed to marry, and gay marriage should be out there. If a man or a women has a good partner and they love each other with their heart and soul let them
Gay marriages should be banned because God did not intend women to sleep with each other, nor men with men. It is a major sin. Plus, children should not be taught that same sex relationships are permitted. The effects on young children being subjected to gay marriages is the major
As we know, same-sex marriage has been discussed and argued for a long time. Within the controversial topic of gay rights, there’s no area more controversial than same-sex marriage. And all of us ask ourselves if same-sex marriage should be legal or not. But the fact is that we have to start thinking about it as a moral and religious topic. The government shouldn’t legalize the same-sex marriage because the
What does marriage mean? By definition, marriage is “the legal union of a man and a woman as husband and wife” (Webster’s Dictionary). Most people claim that they want their marriage to last a lifetime. Because over half of all marriages in the United States end in a divorce, most people lack the understanding of what it takes to stay married. I believe that couples should become more aware of the commitment that they are making when they enter into marriage.
Over the next forty years, global population is expected to reach nine billion people. This increase in population, combined with expected economic growth, will cause an increase in food demanded and inevitably drain the resources we use for food production. So far, agriculture has been able to respond positively to the rising demand for crop and livestock products. However, farmers are already faced with many new challenges associated with feeding an expanding global population. Farmers must now meet strict new emissions requirements and produce more food on fewer acres while minimizing their environmental footprint. The demand for food is expected to grow substantially in the next couple decades. Some of the factors affecting an increase in food demands are population growth, rising incomes of individuals, food supply factors, and biofuels.
