Gary Ridgway, or the Green River Killer, was born February 18, 1949, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Gary had not died yet. Ridgway grew up in a troublesome household where violent arguments between his parents was commonplace. Ridgway’s mother would embarrass and humiliate him in front of the entire family. Still a little kid, Gary had an I.Q. of 82, indicating low intelligence. In high school he was a very poor student and had to repeat a grade twice in order to graduate. At age 16 Gary took a large step in the wrong direction when he stabbed a six-year-old. way had glasses and a mustache and for the most part he looked normal. His nickname was The Green River Killer because some of the bodies of his killing were fished out of the Green River in King County, Washington. The killings took place from the 1982 to 2001 (Newton, 2000, p.223). It is known that Ridgway had sexual intercourse with the prostitutes before he killed them. After a while, he would also have sex with them after they were dead. Another interesting fact is that sometimes, after Ridgway had sex with the already dead victims, he would put rocks in their vaginas (Philbin, 2011, p.199). Ridgway may have easily killed up to 90 women, but it will never be known because in videos, he says that he is not completely sure exactly how many
As I viewed the case of Gary L. Sampson, 41, he can best be described as a man dependent on liquor and cocaine, a miscreant father, and a bank burglar with a long history of brutality. On August 1, 2001, he handed himself over to the Vermont State Police in the wake of escaping from interest for a string of three killings he submitted in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. The individuals who knew Sampson estimated that his homicides were an urgent finale to a pained life. Amid his initial life in New England, he once bound, choked, and beat three elderly ladies in a treat store. He had commandeered autos at knifepoint and was therapeutically analyzed as schizophrenic. In 1977, he wedded a 17-year-old young lady he had impregnated; after two months, he was captured and accused of assault for having "unnatural intercourse with a

Gary Leon Ridgway has confessed to 48 killings attributed to him. His cooperation lead to finding four sets of remains. His killings spanned from 1982 to 1998. Ridgway plead guilty to murdering 48 Green River Killer victims on November 5, 2003. Ridgway says strangling young women was his "career."
John Wayne Gacy was convicted on the murder of 33 teenage boys between 1972 and 1978. These murders took place in Cook County, Illinois; all inside of John Gacy’s home. The city of Chicago, Illinois, during this time was very violent, with crimes happening regularly; this played out well for Gacy. Twenty victims have been identified, while thirteen victims still remain unidentified. All of John Gacy’s victims were teenage boys, all dying due to strangulation, except for his first victim who was stabbed to death.
In 2015, he was transferred to the USB Florence. This was a federal prison in Colorado.
Gary Ridgeway, A.K.A, the Green River Killer, was one of the most notorious serial killers in U.S history. Over the course of two years in the 1980s nearly 50 lives were taken in the Seattle and Tacoma areas of Washington. This case was given this name because of the location of all of the bodies. Most of the bodies were dumped either in or around the Green River located in Washington. Upon discovery of these bodies, the king county sheriff department formed a task force to attempt to solve these murders. One of the interesting things the task force did was interview Ted Bundy to gain insight as to what the killer may be planning next. In 1982 and again in 2001, Gary Ridgeway, was arrested on charges that related to prostitution. This brought
The Cook County Sheriff’s Department in Illinois said that the newly identified victim was James Byron Haakenson, a 16-year-old boy who ran away from his home in St. Paul in the summer of 1976. The police found his body and 26 others in the crawl space beneath Mr. Gacy’s home in December 1978. Mr. Gacy was among the most prolific serial killers in American history. From 1972 to 1978, he lured or forced 33 teenage boys and young men — some of whom he employed at his construction business — to his home in suburban Chicago, where he murdered them. He sexually assaulted most of his victims as he tortured them to death and buried all but six of them beneath his house. Neighbors in Norwood Park Township, Ill., knew Mr. Gacy for his appearances at children’s parties where he performed as Pogo the Clown, a character he later painted or sketched numerous times while in
Through 1980 and 1990, Ridgway was to have killed at the least 71 people. In an interview he said he killed so many that the lost count. Most of his victims were runaways or prostitutes whom he had picked up and strangled along Pacific Highway South. A majority of the murders took place in 1982-1984. A lot of the bodies were dumped along the Green River, in the wooded area, hence the name”Green River Killer.” He would always keep up with where he threw the bodies, because he would later return and have intercourse with their corpse. Sometimes he would leave the bodies in a posed, nude position. Out of all of the women Gary killed, only 4 are unidentified. Most of his bodies were left in Washington, but often to throw off the police, he would cross over into Oregon and leave a few there. He would contaminate the crime scenes by leaving gum and written material belonging to others. His murders would start by just driving along and picking up a woman, most of the time a prostitute. To make them feel more comfortable with him, he would show them a picture of his son that he carried in his wallet. He would lure them in, get them to have sex with him and then he would murder them. He would always strangle them. Never would he use anything but his hands. You could tell where the girls would struggle, because he would have bruises and claw marks on his arms. After
If someone ever met Andrew Urdiales he would be the type that one would forget. He is not very outgoing and would keep to himself, during his childhood he did not have many friends and was an average student. Urdiales was a marine stationed in Southern California when he committed his first murder killing Robbin Brandley a twenty-three year old college student. From July 1988 to August 1996 Urdiales would go on to kill seven more women. Most serial killers kill each victim similar to all the other victims, Urdiales was different though his first murder he stabbed the victim to death while his last he shot in the head.
Gary Leon Ridgway was born on February 18th, 1949. His parents, Mary Rita Steinman, and Thomas Newton Ridgway, had no clue that their son would become one of the most prolific serial killers in history. His reign of terror would last from 1982-1989, and over that span of time he would hunt and murder women in King County, Washington, eventually dumping their bodies in the woods mostly near the Green River.
Background: Born February 18, 1949, in Salt Lake City, Utah, Gary Leon Ridgway was a poor student who went to Vietnam shortly after high school. When he came back he got a job painting trucks for 30 years (Tikkanen). He married three times and had a son. Though having a whole wife and being a very “God-fearing” man, Ridgway was a frequent customer of prostitutes (Tikkanen). In 1980 Ridgway was indicted for allegedly choking a prostitute. Charges were not filed since he claimed she had bit him. He was arrested two years later for solicitation. He is believed to have started his killing spree shortly thereafter (Tikkanen). His first victim was a 16 year old girl that left her foster home in July 1982. They found her body a week later, in the Green River. Ridgway raped and killed over 40 women during the next two years. They were all either prostitutes or runaways. Most of his victims were found near or in the river, giving him the nickname, The Green River Killer (Tikkanen).
Gary Ridgway was a truck painter and he had a special place where he would go and dump his victims; in and around the green river. The first body was discovered in the green river by passing pedestrians in spring of 1982 it was the body of young 16 year old Wendy Lee Coffield and she was strangled to death. (Seattle times 2003) It seems that the green river killer didn’t care what age a girl was he was cynical enough to have sex with her and kill her. Age was defiantly not a factor; he viewed women as objects
Gary Ridgway was born February 18, 1949, in Utah, he was the second oldest of his two siblings. Ridgway wa said to have had a troubled childhood with quite a few horrible arguments between his his mother and father. It is believed he might have grown to dislike certain types of women because his father would complain about women standing on the street. When Ridgway was sixteen he stabbed a young boy after luring him into the woods, the boy did survive.
Robert Nixon was an African-American serial killer who confessed to five murders and multiple assaults in Chicago and Los Angeles from 1936 to 1938. He was born on June 16, 1919, in the small town Tallulah, Louisiana. The press gave Nixon the nickname "Brick Moron” after he confessed to the “brick bat murders” (Arney). Edna Worden, her 12-year-old daughter, Rose Valdez, Elizabeth Rice, and Zoe Damrell were a few of his many victims.
