Introduction
I have been assigned the job of creating a project schedule for the construction of a new hotel complex in Preston Town Centre; it is next to a major roundabout in the town centre which is less than half a mile away from the local train station and bus station. As planning permission has been approved, work will begin shortly on constructing the complex.
I have been given a list of all the major tasks that are included in building the complex as well as the duration of each task and an approximate cost of each job, as per standard I will be charging £50 a hour to create the schedule which will include a Gantt Chart, a critical path analysis and a cost analysis for the construction.

It needs a good procurement policy to find the best and most realistic cost for each of the task.
The analysis needs to be consistent as it relies on being accurate to complete the analysis as if it isn’t consistent then there will be problems if they are not spotted and rectified before the construction of the complex.
If the analysis does not have good documentation the project will fail as there will be no explanation or details on how the construction should work, there would be no approximate dates for when each task is due to be started or finished, as well as the approximate duration of tasks.
This means that as important as costing is, it ensures that the company can make a profit from the project or they will not want to extend their business if it will lose them money as they will have to pay out more for construction, rent, labour and bills

A simple calendar scheduling method is just as it sounds. You have a regular, 30/31 day calendar, and just place activities or tasks for each appropriate day. You will then work based on the schedules or deadlines that have been set. You can also indicate the person responsible for the activity. A Gantt chart is essentially a column matrix with two sides. There will be a y-axis and an x-axis. On the y-axis, there will be labels with different activities that need to be accomplished. On the x-axis, labels for the number of weeks will run consecutively. Within the Gantt chart itself, one can color code or even label activities that are completed, incomplete or those that are half-way done. One can also easily identify the current week and check on progress. Most importantly, the length of each bar (activity) shows the estimated needed to complete each activity.
It impacts the timeline, milestones, and schedule of the project. That in turn will also impacts the budget of the project.
Goals in planning involve completing the project on time and under budget, with a high quality of workmanship. Determining and organizing available resources involves preparing contracts for sub-contractors and choosing a site superintendent. Daily correspondence with the site
If a good cost-measurement system was set up, cost-plus contracts will demonstrate the advantages of cost-management better than fixed price contracts do. With a robust cost-measurement system, managers are able to know the real revenue drivers, to recognize the most valuable customers, and to offer more reasonable price bid. That is to say, cost-measurement system’s strength lies in differentiating clients’ value, projects’ value and operation processes’ value case by case. Under this circumstance, cost-plus contracts would surely dig more utilization and benefit more from such a system, because CitySoft would be able to charge different customers and projects for different prices, which is critical for increasing profitability.
1.1 This report will provide guidance for the procedure of preparing an estimate for building works. It will include the factors that affect the overall cost of the project explaining them in general as well as explaining them on the example provided.
2) a feasible schedule that will conform to the construction schedule milestone dates and completion date.
Your marketing team consists of Tony (search engine optimisation and website maintenance), Marie (advertising and public relations) and Joanne an administration officer. You have asked Tony to take responsibility for the operational aspects of the project and estimate that it will take up 50% of his time over the next 11 weeks. Joanne will also be involved for about 20% of her time in attending to administration matters. You estimate that you will need to allocate 30% of your time to manage the overall project.
3. If the contract doesn’t have applicable and similar cost in it, the contractor should propose a cost and submit to the stakeholders to get a approval, and carry out.
Detailed costing and statements of resources need to be developed as part of the project proposal outlining:
It is important to agree a budget for a project to work out whether it will be cost-effective, for example if the project is
Remember the old saying, "A project plan is not a schedule until resources are committed." This exercise illustrates this subtle, but very important, difference.
This paper includes a description of the procurement planning process. The most valuable output of the plan procurement process will be identified. Furthermore, the various contract types will be explained. A source criterion that would be applicable to any project will be described and three criteria that would apply to most projects will be identified. An analysis of the ethical
For each project you’re planning, you need to be clear on just how much money you’re willing to spend.
The project priorities are in regards what should be prioritised in the project. What is to be taking in regards in terms of cost is (budget), time (schedule), and performance (scope) of the project. What is important to emphasise on here is how these three correlate with one another. In a case where time is important it would be necessary to perform faster, which will prevent a quality outcome, hence lead to reduced costs. The importance of a project manager is to control the trade-offs between budgets and scope. The project managers functions as a link between upper management and project customers. The project manager needs to have keen understanding of project scope in order to fulfil the requirements for the customers and how prioritize the demands. The customer can also add requirements and then the manager needs to prioritize the requirements in regards to the project. An important method is to use the priority matrix to identify what is worth prioritizing more. The constrain is stick and have to be obliged to the first agreements made between the customer, this includes, the specifications and scope of the project or the budget. The enhance includes time and costs. The enhance is an essential factor seeing where to emphasize on either on reducing costs or
