I see people with ideas, great ideas, so many ideas that they all become convoluted and it just seems like a bunch of people uselessly shouting. In order to gain real traction and create real reform there needs to be an agenda, a goal in mind. I know that there is an ultimate goal, end racism, but there is no plan to achieve that goal. A goal to attain your goal if you will. I don’t agree with the mob mentality of some of the protests I’ve seen and certainly don’t agree with rioting. Once you lose sight of the plan and start to just go with the flow, you need to rethink the plan. It only takes a few to influence many. Which is why it is important to establish a goal and figure out exactly why we’re shouting and not just shouting. We as Americans, not just African Americans, can make real change possible with the right ideas and mindset. Patience is another key factor when you are wanting to make change on a national level. Things just don’t happen overnight. Dr. Martin Luther King spent many years fighting racial segregation, sparking ideas and making moves that changed the way a nation thought. And he did it
M-The case of Trayvon Martin vs. George Zimmerman. This was a case where a 17 year old African American, male was shot and killed within 70 yards of the home in which he was residing in at the time, located at Retreat at Twin Lakes Gated Community in Sanford, Florida, by George Zimmerman. George Zimmerman was a 28 year-old Hispanic male, who was a neighborhood watchman for the Retreat at Twin Lakes Gated Community in Sanford, Florida.
On February 26, 2012 an unarmed black man is shot and killed by a neighborhood watch captain. Trayvon Martin, 18 and unarmed, was strolling through a neighborhood when he was then approached by George Zimmerman, an armed neighborhood watch captain. Not all of the details are clear, but it is known the two had a physical altercation. Suddenly, Martin gets shot and dies. Zimmerman claims he shot him for self defense.
On February 26,2012, a 17 year old Trayvon Martin was shot and killed. He was killed at 7:16 PM at the Twin Lakes, in Sanford Florida, while Trayvon Martin was returning from a local store, where he bought an Arizona ice tea, and skittles. A 28 year old hispanic man name George Zimmerman spotted Trayvon Martin, who he thought acted suspiciously. Moments later, there were an altercation between the two individuals, which resulted in Trayon being shot. The most important question is, why was Trayvon Martin killed? This is an unjustified murder. This murder is unjustified because, Trayvon Martin was ttrying to defend himself, Zimmerman was watching the neighbor hood and spotted Trayvon, who he thought arousing suspicion, and Zimmerman thought he had to shoot Trayvon. Zimmerman was false for shooting him.
A 2011 shooting of Anthony Lamar Smith, a black driver by Jason Stockley a former white officer from St Louis resulted in a massive violent protest this September when Stockley was announced innocent and murder charges were dropped. The fact that victim was black caused such a massive outrage in the St. Louis city. Would the city respond the same however if the victim was white? It turns out no. In Fresno California unarmed Dylan Noble was shot by police. Officers had received a report of a man carrying a rifle but really just found noble speeding in his pickup truck. When he was pulled over at a gas station Noble got out of the truck and was acting suspicious.
Trayvon Benjamin Martin was a 17 year old African American from Miami Gardens, Florida. He was badly shot by George Zimmerman; a neighborhood watch volunteer in Sanford, Florida. Zimmerman called 911 to report that there was “suspicious person” walking through the neighborhood. He was told to not do anything, but he did anyway. As he approached Martin, he attacked him and shot him straight to the heart. According to CNN, “Zimmerman acknowledges that he shot Martin, claiming it was in self-defense.” (“Trayvon Martin Shooting Fast Facts”). When the case was taken to court George Zimmerman was found not guilty even after he
Police officer have recently been criticize for shooting African American and using excessive force on them. Groups like Black lives matter and other organizations have crated organization against police officer, those organization have ask for justice for those people that have been killed by police officers. One of the biggest stories in resent time is Samuel Debose a young African American that was shot and kill by Officer Rey Tensing in Cincinnati. Mr. Debose died instantly and Officer is being charged with murder.
That was just one example of one incident I’m going to provide you many more very similar to that. Here are some stats about last year with cops killing African Americans Police killed at least 102 unarmed black people in 2015, more than any other race, Nearly 1 in 3 black people killed by police in 2015 were identified as unarmed, though the actual number is likely higher due to underreporting, 37% of unarmed people killed by police
Just for wearing a hoodie, carrying an Arizona Tea and for being black he was shot and killed. In the book “Deadly Injustice: Travyon Martin, Race, and the Criminal Justice System“ the authors go on to discuss what happened that night and in the trial that preceded. It also helped me deliberate with how certain deaths are portrayed online. This being one of the biggest cases to hit the news and was brought to almost everyone in the United States attention, even the President at the time made a statement about what had happened to this young man. Social media spreaded this article like a wildfire and soon everyone knew what had happened that night in Florida. One of the main reasons why it was difficult to convict Zimmerman of this crime was because of the “Stand your ground” law After this the tension between black males and police officers rose to an even higher extent. African Americans often feel as if they are treated by police unfairly and with situations like this happening it help supported how they felt. Additionally with cases like in Ferguson and what happened in Lousivelle when four innocent teens were accused of robbing a woman with a weapon where they were later found not guilty of the
Eric Garner. Keith Lamont Scott. Philando Castille. Michael Brown. Do you know who these people are? I am Arianna Dwomoh, a ninth grade at Leesville Road High School in Raleigh, NC. I want to write to you about how racial profiling/ bias is a large part of police shootings and arrests lately as most victims are unarmed people of color. Over the past couple of years, cops have shot and killed unarmed or innocent black men and boys. This shows light upon the worrying racial differences in how police use force. For those who critique the police, the numbers show that it's not just higher rates of gun ownership and violent crime that explain the higher number of police shootings in the US, compared to other countries. Maybe, it's the nonchalant
Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, Trayvon Martin, Mike Brown, Eric Garner, Freddie Gray, Tamir Rice, Sandra Bland, Sean Bell and unfortunately so much more were senselessly murder because of the color their skin. “Garner, an asthmatic father of six, was seen yelling, “I can’t breathe!” 11 times before losing consciousness and No one have been charged criminally” (Citation). In this quote from Eric Garner, he is fatally choked to death by a police officer , he yelled that he couldn't beneath and officer continued to applying pressure to his neck. George Zimmerman, had been found not guilty of shooting dead an unarmed black 17-year-old named Trayvon Martin (Citation). In this quote from cnn a unarmd teenage was walking home and George shot him dead and George Zimmer was acquitted from all criminal charges. The destruction of black lives needs to stop immediately. African Americans are being hunted down and they are using the color of their skin as a way of avoiding responsibility of their actions. African Americans should not worry about being killed when they walk down the street to buy some

According to a Washington Post database of lethal police shootings 24 unarmed black men have been shot and killed by police so far this year. This means one a black man dies every nine days. Three unarmed black men were shot and killed in the month of April alone. All three shootings were either caught on tape or reported on local TV. The 24 unarmed black men that were killed compose a startling small amount of the 585 people shot and killed by police. According to The Post database. Most of those killed were white or Hispanic, and a good number of all races were armed. However, according to Wesley, black men accounted for 40 percent of the 60 unarmed deaths, even though they make up just 6 percent of the U.S. population.
Last year, blacks were killed very often and in bad demeanors by cops. Alton Sterling was pinned to the ground, hands up unarmed, was shot twice in the chest and died. Nothing happened to those cops because they say it was self-defense. Another incident where a black male was pulled over his hands clearly shown on his steering wheel, was shot dead with his wife and son in the car. Trayvon Martin was shot and killed in his own neighborhood just because of his appearance, the man was set
Hello, Good Morning the jury, the judge, and the audience. I am Abiel Ghebre and I will be representing the innocence of Martin Luther. Today, We are gathered here to fight against the Catholic Church to see if my client is guilty causing a rebellion against the church. He questioned the Church’s leadership and it’s theology. But proving his claims with factual evidence, it outraged the Catholic Church. Before we continue with my case, let everybody be reminded the Catholic Church is extremely manipulative and super controlling. They have so much power, controlling over Kings, Queens, Monarchs, and millions of people. Making 99 percent of everybody’s opinion already toward their side, that is unfair, we must have an unfavorable decision on who wins. Just because of their power, nobody should be pushed to agree with their side. Thank You and I’m going to start proving Martin Luther’s innocence.
