9th grade is the most important year of highschool
I believe freshman year of high school is essential in deciding whether a student drops out or stays on school. I believe that you should try your hardest freshman year so that you can stay motivated and get good start in high school. Freshmans should try their hardest in freshman year or it can damage their self esteem, in article: ¨Ninth Grade: The Most Important Year in High School” paragraph 4. Usually if a student gets held back a grade than their peers (from both grades) will judge them, and the judgment will not motivate them, it would lower their self esteem and it can possibly turn into a vicious cycle and the student could possibly stay back again. Freshmans usually have poor
Each individual has a variety of opinions regarding high school. Two people couldn’t reflect the same way because of differences in choices and experiences. I would advise them to focus on their grades from the beginning, but not let them take over all aspects of their lives. Staying organized and learning to manage their time will make classes more manageable. Having good relationships with your teachers could prove to be beneficial in the long run for scholarship and college application recommendation letters. The rising freshman class
Freshman year could be a new world to everyone because it helps the student to grow both academic and physical. In my second semester at Seaman High School is full of an opportunity and lessons. Lessons that will help me to grow the to person I want to be. An opportunity to help me to have a better grade and succeed with the help of my teachers. My second semester is complicated. Finishing first semester did not mean that I can handle the second semester smoothly like I expected. The second semester is harder than the first semester but it helps me to find the woman I want to be.
Junior year was full of many new experiences. We were now classified as upper classmen! Just like any of the other years in high school this year had just as many ups and downs. One of the main stresses in eleventh grade was the SAT. For sure one of the scariest things that I have ever had to do. All of the preparation going into it and the amount of studying made me feel as if I wasn’t going to have a brain by the time the testing was over. I took college and career readiness, which really helped prepare me for what was to come. By this time in high school I had already had my job for a little over a month, so I already knew what to expect once school started. I am thankful enough that at my job you get to leave at seven because I hear many
Having most of my freshman year done will allow me to be more successful by letting me put more focus and attention towards my majors. At a university, I plan on majoring in both dance and business with the goal of opening my own dance school in the future. This has been my dream since I was
The first year of high school is difficult because there is a lot of pressure to submit all the papers, and there are also exams.
One piece of advice that I would give to an incoming high school freshman would be that you should not worry about what other people think about you. You do not need to impress anyone and you most certainly do not need to try and change yourself for that person. There will be people in your life who try and make you do things that you normally would not do and maybe are not comfortable with. Do not let someone change you. If that person does not like that you do not do something that they do, or act how they act, chances are you probably should not be hanging around with them.
Now that I have half a year of high school under my belt, what I would tell next year’s freshmen they really need to do once they’re in high school, is to stay organized, and not to expect to be treated the same way.The reason that I think it is very important to stay organized is because if you are not organized you can lose assignments you did or just not do them because you lost them or didn't know you had homework. Don't expect teachers to treat you like babies they don't do that in high school. Teachers are not just going to give you the answer they make you figure it out.
Junior year has taught me a lot on how to become a better student and better friend. To all the incoming juniors, my advice to them would be stay focused. Junior year brings a lot of changes in many students lives. It will test your strengths and weaknesses but it will reveal the type of individual you are. One idea that I was able to understand better was that it’s important to know what your goals are. Having a goal will not only keep you focused in accomplishing said goal but it will also be the thing that keeps you moving forward despite the obstacles, that as an incoming junior, one will encounter throughout the year. Your goals do not have to be specific it can be something minor such as just getting through high school being proud of
Being a 12th grader is never easy. The most frequent question you’re asked is always related to your future. “What do you want to do? Have you thought of anything?” and you’re expected to produce a well thought-of and structured answer as if it’s been extracted directly from a textbook. Usually , A nervous smile is the first response followed by a hesitant reply.
As a freshman entering college, I was still skeptical if teaching was the right major for myself or if I wanted to go to college at all. That was four long years ago for me. Since then, I have taken classes I excelled in and I have taken classes I have struggled with and could not find the end of the semester. I am the first person in my family to go to college and not get pregnant or drop out before graduation. I am a member of Kappa Delta Phi: education honors society at Shepherd University and I was also a member of Alpha Phi Omega: the community service fraternity. I have worked extremely hard as a full time manager at two retail stores to put myself through college.
As one can see in the past staying in school was mandatory and people were looked down if one did not finish school. Now in days’ students are quick to drop out and more parents are allowing it to happen. The rate of students who attend school and drop- out is tremendously high. As a student who thought about dropping out due to many encounters in life, but chose to stay in school and get an education changed who I am today. After all, each individual has a different perspective of whether high school should be mandatory both know it can only better one self. Attending high school will have challenges along with, but make it worth going for.
“It is impossible to live without failing at something, unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all- in which case, you fail by default” (J.K.Rowling). 9th grade is a big transition from middle school. It can be tough at times, but as long as one's trying they'll make their way through the year. Three pieces of advice to make it through freshman year is to turn in work on time, study well for tests, and work harder than what is expected.
Lewis Carroll once said, “If you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there.” Being an up and coming high school graduate, there are many decisions to make. There are decisions on which colleges to choose from and also what classed to enlist in. Most of all, there is the ultimate decision on whether or not to attend college altogether. Although it is always easier to take the traditional route and enroll directly out of high school, there is also a troubling decision to wait a year before attending college.
So far this year in 8th grade is not really that bad. I thought the first week the teachers weren't going to hold off and we were going to get a ton of homework. Fortunately I was wrong and also glad that the teachers understood that we were still getting used to the new hallway, new classes, and new way of doing things. I really enjoyed going back to the paper copies of agendas because nobody ever used the online ones and now both me and my parents know what I must have done. For the record this school year is off to a great start in my books and I hope other students can stay the
Will negatively affect a student's future. Bob Keeshan once said,”Children don't drop out of High School when they are 16 they do so in the first grade and wait 10 years to make it official.” Throughout the years studies have shown that in a year 1.2 million students drop out. Which leads that only 25% of High School students during their freshman year fail to graduate. Dropouts in the United States have became a very trending thing we must get to the bottom of this problem. Young adults should not be making these decisions it's time to step in.
