The stage is swept. The lights are focused, and the mic is in your hand. The bass of the song you and your best friend made together is blasting in your ear, going straight to your head. suddenly your brain stops thinking; All that’s there is you and the crowd. This is Freesole Chicago at it’s finest form. Freesole is a musical group what once started as a small rap group to a family that embraces one another's differences and also talents as performers. But the family didn’t always start like this it took a lot of trust and studio time for the group to love each other as they do now.
“It's something you really don't find everywhere, all of the puzzle pieces fit perfectly and that's what makes us so special, I have friends but it’s not like

Their confidence isn’t always at it’s highest Music Producer Lee Junious knows the pressure and stress music can add along. “I know that from a work standpoint that if I made five beats all five or might not be great, but two of them will, but you can’t think about that, you just have to think about making yourself better for the next day,” Lee said. Their concert on Saturday Oct.8, in Homewood has evoked strong emotions through the group. Alumni Janelle Butler a.k.a Olive B was ecstatic for the concert ready to show off her new music style that she has developed within herself. “I’ve written so much music and found my style and I can put my experience in my music now there's so many things that go into it that people don’t know and it’s made me grow as a person,” B said. Although they have received negative comments about Freesole, often the worst reviews come from themselves, the pressure they put on themselves is an act no one can understand but themselves. “ When you realize your potential that’s like the most sincere form of motivation you can find anywhere. Hearing my own music I learn a lot based off what I can do can be improved. As an artist I’m always thinking about what can be improved,” Leo
I sat down with Tanner VanderKrabben in his dorm on October 8, 2016, to interview him about how music has shaped his life. Tanner has been involved in music since elementary school, and his passion for music has only grown since then. Throughout his life, he has found music to be a powerful tool to express himself. This fall, Tanner began working towards a degree in music education at the University of Minnesota so that he could one day share this tool with his future students.
Martin Luther King Jr said “If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.” We all stumble and have setbacks, but it is what you do after the fact that will define who you really are. Don’t let one single person get in your way, push forward and continue to produce your product. All of you are going to be great, your biggest challenge won’t be a test coming up or a feat that looks impossible to concur. Your biggest challenge is going to be how to overcome the doubt in your mind. Once you ignore that voice in your head that tells you that you cannot perform at a superior level, you will reach anything and break any barrier. “Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.” – Vince

“About five or six years ago, I went through a reconnect with childhood phase where I really got into just looking at things fresh was the idea, and being excited about things because I'd been down a lot and been through a lot. It's very easy to get blasé about it.”
There once was a girl named Bailey, she was known for her rich family. She lived with both her parents and her three siblings; Alexander, Christian and Dominic. Alexander, 20, was the oldest of the siblings. Christian and Dominic, 19, were twin brothers. Although they were identical twins and looked so much alike, you could differentiate between them. Christian always acted like a buffoon anywhere the family would go. Sometimes he would use his silliness to get a girl. On the other hand, Dominic always kept to himself, he would give people a baleful look when they stare or try to start a conversation with him.
I now realise that the Arts, including music, creates opportunities to engage, inspire and enrich our lives. Music making and responding can challenge, provoke responses and enrich our knowledge and understanding of ourselves, our communities and the world.
“I pay attention to those things. I'm not one to follow the pack and have always wanted to sound unique, always searching and stretching. I understand how to write and play interesting music. This is what I do and what I love. It's my passion and it comes naturally to me. Plus, I'm obsessed with it. I listen to everything and often. I know what's happening in almost all music areas. So there's a lot to draw from. I'm constantly thinking about creating, finding inspiration along the way. I really don't stop! Whenever I go to the studio, I have the framework. The writing part of my music is usually pretty strictly adhered to and then everyone is free to do whatever they want during
If I were to be in the DJ booth thinking about how I messed up the same song transition last night, chances are that I’m going to overthink it and mess up again. Even worse, before I even started booking shows, many of the venues wouldn’t let me play because they didn’t think I was good enough. Using the power of endurance I kept trying and trying and finally they saw how strong my perseverance was and started booking me for shows. The most important thing is to endure by enduring: understanding the difficulties, enduring the hardships, predicting the risks, and tolerating the abuse, all ensure fame and success for such a person. What makes one truly great is knowing how to tolerate the intolerable and how to endure the unendurable. “Everyone knows how to thrive in the good times. It is the trying times that separate the one who has substance from the one who merely possesses the image” (Chu 141).
When artists change, so does their music. Some change their style to appeal to a wider audience while others are affected by what surrounds them. Family, friends and lovers can play a key factor to the artist's change, whether it improves their music or not. Some of these factors help artists create music that sometimes holds a deeper meaning, but sometimes identifying some of these key factors can be trivial.
Every musician is inspired or displays attributes of predecessors. These attributes influence every aspect of their
I know in the past I have read a news article that made me question if it was true or not. A bunch of videos online makes me really question if it is true or false as well. I feel as though publishers make their titles misleading to receive more viewers or to get people to read the article. When I am in a checkout line and just standing their, I see magazines about a celebrity with false facts on the front page.

This article is written by a group of recognized experts in the hope of providing education policy makers and educators help towards achieving the goal of a “democratic and pluralistic society” (Banks, et al., 2001). The findings of the Multicultural Education Consensus Panel all seem to be geared towards guiding practitioners towards the shared goal of increased student achievement through diversity. They offer 12 essential principles which have been divided into 5 separate categories: 1) teacher learning; 2) student learning; 3) intergroup relations; 4) school governance; 5) assessment.
The event, organized by the City Parks Foundation, was part of the annual initiative called Summer Stage, the New York City’s largest free performing arts festival.
To begin, this concert's opening acts were exciting and really set the stage for All Time Low. The first band to preform was Real Friends who are from Chicago. The group's sound can best be described as an angsty version of pop punk. Real friends played some of their most popular songs such as “I've Given Up On You” and “Floorboards”. Many of the fans in attendance were familiar with Real Friends so the set was very energetic. In addition, the other opening act was a band called Knuckle Puck, who are also from Chicago. Knuckle Puck put on lively set that really got the crowd
