It is essential for the United States government to provide its entire citizen with a free health care. This system ensures that everyone has an access to medical services regardless to his or her social status. It is an important way of preserving life as free health care plan ensures free treatment to the entire citizen. In addition, it can play a big role of ensuring that there is an improved access to health services. Ensuring that all American citizens have an access to the right health care will in turn decrease health care costs. It can also help to stop medical bankruptcies in the entire nation. Lastly, it is one way of reducing poverty as it will lower the debt of the US which would then increase employment.

The United States should have free healthcare for all citizens I strongly believe that all American citizens should be entitled free healthcare. This is due to that fact that this can play a big role of ensuring that there is an improved access to health services. In addition, ensuring that all American citizens have an access to the right health care will also decrease health care costs. For instance, by allowing people to receive regular and preventive medical care and not wait until they are persistently ill to request treatment when medical costs are much higher (Niles, 2011). In relation to this free health care will promote equal chance by decreasing the number of people who are economically deprived in society (Niles, 2011). This can be because of bad health and other medically-related financial problems. In addition, health care industry can affect every living person in United State in one way or another. For instance, the uninsured are excluded from services, charged more for medical services and die when medical care could have saved them(Berkin, 2012). America is known to have some of the best doctors, and healthcare facilities in the World, however two thirds of our country do not have an access to health insurance, or cannot afford it(Berkin, 2012). The Right to Health Care notes that the United States is one of the few, if not, only, developed nation in the world that does not guarantee
As Americans we should all be afforded access to healthcare. Access to healthcare is an individual right according to the human rights amendment. The human right to health guarantees a system of health protection for all. The human right to health means that everyone has the right to the highest attainable standard of physical and mental health, which includes access to all medical services, sanitation, adequate food, decent housing, healthy working conditions and a clean environment (What is the Human Right to Health and Health Care, 2015). However there are strengths and weaknesses to every healthcare system and the U.S. Healthcare system is not exempt. I plan to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the U. S. Healthcare system (What is the Human Right to Health and Health Care, 2015).
We live in the United States, “The Land of the Brave and Home of the Free.” However, the United States is the only developed country that does not provide guaranteed insurance coverage for all citizens and they’re thereby doing not ensure access to health services (Government hub, n.d.). Meaning other countries offer health coverage without cost. This always disappointed me because America is the richest, and most unequal, country (Sherman, 2015). So why wouldn’t America provide American’s health care insurance (McAlearney, 2003, p. 20). Since the United States does not provide universal health care coverage, we will discuss briefly forms of insurance offered to Americans, the categories of insurance and how individuals qualify for coverage and Affordable Healthcare Act (Obama Care).
There can be no gainsaying as to the fact that a large fraction of the American citizenry remains devoid of health insurance. This means that average Americans, running into millions, find it increasingly difficult to access healthcare of whatever nature. As a consequence, this disadvantage has resulted in the proliferation of ailments and deaths that could well be avoided. Perhaps it is best we ask ourselves why the access to affordable healthcare has not been prioritized by previous administration regimes, being that it is the fulcrum of well-being and basically the backbone of a healthy, working nation. The answer should have been realized sooner, rather than latter, but
One can argue that a right to free healthcare could increase the United States debt and deficit; while on the other hand I postulate that a right to free healthcare would stop medical bankruptcies and improve public health globally.
United States is a country that we believe it is the richest, most powerful country in the world. However, healthcare is not available to the people that live within the country, especially undocumented immigrants. In addition, the cost of healthcare increases as quality of service served. This struggle the Americans believe in living under the roof of a healthcare system protected by insurance companies and government. Compared to Canada and other countries, such as Japan, Germany and France, United States is still having private health care. While most Americans in the middle to upper class have medical insurance and they don’t have to worry about about their health as much as lower classes, including legal permanent immigrants and immigrants
Who should be provided with free healthcare? Overtime healthcare insurance has gone up an enormous amount. Many people can not afford to pay for it, so they remain uninsured. Lots of people become ill and are unable to get treatment because they do not have healthcare insurance. People refuse to visit the doctor’s office due to high medical expensive or because they already owe a large amount of money. The government should come up with a plan to help the people who currently can not afford to pay for healthcare insurance. High medical bills should not be the reason why people remain unhealthy here in the United States. A universal healthcare system needs to be created to help out the people be able to visit the doctor’s office. Free healthcare insurance can benefit American people by being able to create a universal health coverage system that will help the people visit the doctor’s office without going into debt over medical bills.
There are many people in the United States who are not covered by health insurance. In 2002, 31.4% of the people ages 18 to 24 were uninsured and 11.2% of the people who were under 18 were uninsured. Also in 2002, 44.2% of the families living in poverty had children who did not have health insurance. When families are in poverty without health insurance, they end up being charged the full amount for medical care. They are further stuck in poverty, having to pay for the hospital bills, any prescription drugs, and any follow up appointments. This is a vicious cycle that inadvertently keeps people without health insurance in poverty. When people are sick and cannot afford to visit the hospital, they then could miss work, get fired, or not be able to search for a job. Universal health care would eliminate this destructive cycle by providing basic health care for all without regard to income level (Public Agenda).
The United States of America is the only industrialized nation without universal healthcare coverage for its residents. Despite much spending on healthcare, the United States of America failed to provide Universal Health Care for its population. The United States have violated the human rights of 32 million people by denying them proper health care coverage. In considering the highest health care spent, the U.S. government has failed to meet its obligation to respect, protect and fulfill everyone’s rights. This has disproportionally affected the health of many disadvantaged groups and the under-resourced communities, such as the undocumented immigrants, people living in poverty, people of color and including the middle-class working legal immigrants. A majority of uninsured residents have received poor access to the office of private physicians. Many undocumented uninsured immigrants are forced to frequently seek healthcare from so-call safety-net providers, such as community centers and the outpatient or emergency department of hospitals. They go without medication and skip preventative care, especially due to high costs. Countless have unhealthy lifestyles which have contributed to very poor health outcomes such as high rates of cancer, low birth weight and infant mortality and lower life expectancy. Current presidential debates about health care reform address concerns about the right to health care, access, fairness,
Also, free healthcare will promote equality to all citizens by decreasing the number of economically challenged individuals in the society. Apparently, poor healthcare status relates to financial problems. Most of the world governments advocate for equal treatment of all citizens, fair distribution of resources, and bridging the gap between the poor and the rich (Gulliford and Myfanwy 37). The health care industry directly or indirectly affects every living individual in the US in one way or another. For instance, the poor citizens who are uninsured get excluded from accessing proper health services, or they end up being
Good afternoon, Mr Tan and fellow classmate. I am Alyson, this is Cecilia and this is Renee. I am sure most of you have heard of this quote “the greatest wealth is health”. It tells us that your health is more valuable than wealth, for as long as you are strong and healthy, you can always make money. As much as health is important, to every individual in the room, it is also inevitable to fall sick, as after all, we are all just human beings. In 2012, a survey conducted by Mindshare, a global media and marketing services firm found that 72% of Singaporeans felt they cannot afford to get sick because of the high medical costs in Singapore. Medical bills can form a large burden on a family, especially when one falls under the low income category. So we feel that Singapore should implement the policy of free healthcare, not for our own just sake, but for the future of our nation. Free health care ensure that the local citizen will be covered with basic health care services be it their financial ability. So, we have prepared a number of points to let all of you know why we wanted to implement it, the benefits of the free health care policy and how are we going to implement it.
I believe healthcare should be free to ever U.S. Citizen. There are between 47-60 million
I don’t think the US government should provide free healthcare for all citizens. Free healthcare for all citizens is really ambitions and would be very difficult to regulate. In the past institutions have tried to offer free healthcare and were exploited. "He explained that the purpose of Hopkins Hospital was to help those who otherwise couldn’t get medical care" (Skloot pg 166.) Hospitals like this took advantage of poor black patients and did research on them without their knowledge. If people had free health care then people wouldn’t have to have insurance and anyone could go anywhere for treatment/check ups which could also mess up patient-doctor confidentiality. "Patient confidentiality has been an ethical tenet for centuries: The Hippocratic
Should the U.S. government provide free health care for all citizens? Free health care for all citizens, is a very controversial topic that has been debated for years. This debate concerns many pros and cons, such as “CNN reporting that 45,000 Americans are dying per year because they do not have access to health care because of costs.” According to research and statistics, majority of the people say that they agree with having free health care. Most people agreed because they believe it is the government’s job to help the ones that are in need. This paper will discuss why free health care is needed, what problems are caused by not providing free healthcare for all citizens, and the solutions that will benefit everyone.
The right to health care can improve public health. According to a 2012 study in the Lancet that looked at data from over 100 countries, “Evidence suggests that broader health coverage generally leads to better access to necessary care and improved population health particularly for poor people”. In the USA, people are 33% less likely to have a regular doctor,25% more likely to have unmet health need, and over 50% more likely to not obtain needed medicine compared to their Canadian counterpart who have a universal right to health care. Everyone needs good information, and the opportunity to make good choices. Many people do believe everyone should have health care coverage and that nobody should be left out of the system. It is prove that the society is highly
Free health care is known as a health care system that provides health care to all citizens of a particular country. According to the article “A Great Example of Why Everyone Should Have Health Coverage,” the author mentions that “Providing basic health care is the humane thing to do, and in the long run, it will be cost effective”(McClanahan, 2012). In fact, The World Health Organization (WHO) shows that 400 million people around the world do not have access to essential health services. However, in the debate over health care, some people believes that it is an inhuman action to turn away somebody who is in need of medical treatment simply because they don’t have enough money while other claimed that if health care is free, it will cause negative effects to the country’s economy. Therefore, health care shouldn’t be
