Have you ever questioned how much wonder and bravery a man can have? John Adams, took this farther than ever. John always wanted everything fair for each side, whether in court, on the battlefield, or just in his office. Born on October 31, 1735, which today would make him 281 years old, he did serve his years very well as a Patriot. John Adams shows how it is easy to have courage, to make things fair even though one side might not agree with you, but also have leadership to guide the people in the colonies in the right direction.
When the Revolution started between the loyalists and patriots, John Adams had the courage and was in there right away(Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia).

“Adams was convinced that taxation without representation and being treated like second-class citizens were definitely not right, so he took a stand.” Andrew Matthews, author of JOHN ADAMS. He wanted things to right, and “taxation without representation” means that if there isn’t someone from Parliament saying how there is taxes then there shouldn’t be any in the colonies. John agreed to that saying, so he was one of the first ones to stand up against the mother country in which it takes a lot of …show more content…
He served as Vice President for eight years alongside George Washington(White House). Seeing that he was Vice President shows how much more he knows about the government, and how being a strong leader is to rule over colonies. Also during Adams presidency, he made an army to defend our country(Lusted), now that we are independent. Making an army is not easy, so it had to take a lot of guidance and patience with people. This shows how he has to have the leadership to run and control an army.
Lots of special things happened during Adams’ presidency. One of those things is that he got to sign the Alien and Sedition Acts. “Adams also signed the Alien and Sedition Acts in 1789 in an effort to control Alien citizens who were loyal to enemy governments.” When some colonists were talking to countries and governments that are opponents to us, John would step up and do something about it and stop what they are doing.
One of our enemies, the French, tried to attack us, John was ready. In fact “Adams sent commissioners to France in 1785.” Marcia Amidon Lusted, author of the article John Adams. He did not want anything going around so he sent people to spy on the French. Another thing that shows he was a big part of the government and good leadership is that “he was one of three Americans who crafted the Treaty of Paris ending the war.” Which is a really good deal and shows how important he
A avid rebel against of British taxation Samuel Adams helped popularize the disdain in Boston to the newly enforced Stamp Act created by Britain. He also played a major part in the Boston Tea party helping to organize it which was shown as a rebellion towards the Tea Act in which British Tea was taxed, problem was that British tea was basically the colonist choice. While in that position he advocated for independence from Great Britain, which could
Adams only had a one year term as president, but before he was president he was Washington’s vice president. After his one year term he moved to Massachusetts, and he lost his reelection to his vice president Thomas Jefferson. Adams was one of the men that signed the Declaration of Independence. Adams was one of the only president of the first five to not own any slaves. He was against slavery, but he was also against abolition. He didn’t enjoy the ways the abolitionist dealt with most things, he thought it was chaotic and threatening.
Before starting his career as a politician, Adams started working as a tax collector in Boston, he also was started to take chances in businesses such as brewer, and as a newspaper publisher, but failed. While Adams was a tax collector he “neglected to collect public levies” and keep proper accounts, which exposed him to lawsuits. After the suits Adams “started being an active and influential part in local politics”. When England passed the Sugar Act in 1764, Adams started being an important figure against British rule to the colonies. After the Sugar Act was passed and then the Stamp Act, Adams felt that this was start of the colonies being taxed without representation (no taxation without representation). After these incidents Adams, started becoming more committed to American independence from
John Adams a federalist had taken power. Instead of siding with the Federalist he had chosen a Democratic-Republican to be his vice president, Thomas Jefferson. Adams actually hated the most popular Federalist Alexander Hamilton. The most famous thing Adams is known for is the violent quarrels that happened with the French and the XYZ affair. The XYZ affair had angered many of the American citizens. It had caused clashes in the political system between the two parties. It had all started when the French were angered with Jay’s Treaty because it was a connection the United States were making with the British. This angered not only the French but also the Democratic-republicans. The mutual hatred had started, and there was no going back. The French had broken the Franco-American alliance and took the same action of the British and starting impressing American Sailors. To anger the Americans, even more, the French had refused the diplomat they appointed and threaten to arrest him. This fuel for hate was fired because of the betrayal. The French were really upset and wanted to get back at the United States for the dishonesty of their

Although he took a lot of criticism, John Adams became more respected in the long run. With such passion to stand up for what is right, John Adams’s reputation grew rapidly. He was known for defending what he believed in, and establishing the principal that everyone deserves a fair trial, whether you are innocent or guilty of the crime. This led him to be elected as a representative to the Massachusetts legislature.
Adams' ideas were shared with other women and spoke of appealing to Congress to regard these "radical" issues. Congress never appealed to her "bluff" but as a result, John seemed to have taken her ideas to heart and to have given the matter considerable thought as he struggled with the issue of voters' rights. He understood that a government built on the principles of freedom and equality and carried out with the consent of the people must by

Although John Adams was a great politician, he was better known for his knowledge and judgment. This was Proven at the Boston massacre. When the British soldiers, or Redcoats, fired into a crowd during a riot, no on in all of the 13 colonies would defend them in court, except for John Adams. He rose to the challenge and won over the Jury, by proving that they had fired out of fear for their lives. When his cousin, Samuel Adams, the leader of the Boston Sons of Liberty, confronted John and told him to pick a side, John responded, is the law not the only side (Miller Center, 2015)? This goes to show that all he wanted for this new land was to be a place of justice and honesty. He believed that just because no one agrees with you, doesn’t mean you should get an unfair trial.
