Four Pillars Of The National Honor Society

The four pillars of National Honor Society have shaped who I am today in numerous ways. Firstly, the pillar of scholarship is much more than just getting straight A’s. It inspires me to learn new things and continue gaining knowledge every day while creating a motivation to take challenging classes and work harder to achieve higher grades. Academics are important because they prepare us for our future careers and act as a pathway to success. Moreover, service proves to be another important pier. I love helping people and take pride in doing so. I’ve put in countless hours working on projects for band, choir, church, school, and the community. Ultimately, volunteering has helped spark my love for others and developed a more compassionate personality.

Scholarship. Leadership. Service. Character. These are not just the four pillars of the National Honors Society, they are four important characteristics of a successful human being. The pillar of scholarship has been demonstrated in my continuance of learning.

As an underclassman, I focused on my schoolwork in order to obtain the goal of joining National Honor Society my junior year. Being a member of NHS has instilled in my values that I intend to employ. The four pillars--scholarship, leadership, character, and service--have shaped my high school development in a positive manner, and I plan to apply these pillars to my future goals and overall life. The four pillars of NHS have greatly shaped my life choices and development.

Service is one of the essential pillars of the National Honor Society. While a member of the National Honor Society I have participated in many projects that have changed the way I see the world. While volunteering I have met many fascinating individuals that have different stories. Stories that have influenced my future goals to help and show kindness to everyone. While volunteering at Care one I have met multiple people who always have a smile on their face no matter how bad or good their day is going. Therefore the most significant moment that has impacted me is one story in particular. During the weekend I volunteer with an elderly woman. She is kind, friendly and has the biggest smile. This is a composition describing how I exemplify the four qualities need to become a member of National Honor Society. The four traits necessary in every NHS member are scholarship, leadership, service and character which I believe that I possess. Attributes of scholarship are shown through my academics because I focus in school and make great grades because of it. Scholarship was basically implemented in my roots because both of my parents are professors and they always drive me to do better.

I should be in NJHS because I believe I have all the qualities it takes to be a productive member within NJHS. The five pillars of National Junior Honor Society are: Scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. During this school year, along with academic excellence, I was also a leader. When I think of a leader, I think of a person who empowers others by showing supreme honesty,integrity, innovation, communication, confidence, and empathy. I showed this by taking charge of things that seemed derailed.

Whether intentionally or unintentionally applied, the four pillars of National Honor Society have become core values in my life. I attribute much of my educational success to these values. The analogy of pillars is very fitting, for taking one away would compromise the structural integrity of the others. Working in harmony, the four pillars of National Honor Society are foundations from which I build my life, beginning with the scholarship pillar. At the moment I saw my first “B” as a seventh grader, my stomach sank and I made a promise to myself that my transcript would only know a 4.0 GPA moving forward.

The four pillars of National Honor Society are scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Service has shown me that giving my time back to others not only helps them, but helps me in my development too. I love giving back my time through volunteering at my church to being a part of my school's student council "Cadet Council." I consider myself a very good leader. I love leading in group projects, I have served several positions in my 4-H group, and I have recently led a Hat Drive during Christmas to raise money for families who couldn't afford presents. Throughout high school, being a member of National Honor Society has benefitted me in ways that have bettered me as a student and as a person. As a member of this organization, I have had many qualities instilled within myself that I will carry throughout my entire life. The four pillars of National Honor Society: Scholarship, Leadership, Character, and Service have been brought to me through this organization, and without them I would not be who I am today.

Upon induction, the four words that resonated through my mind was Scholarship, Leadership, Character, and Service. The four pillars of National Honor Society are an implementation of what the organization stands for and what each member should vicariously live by. As a well-rounded student even before I was inducted my junior year, I had the four virtues of National Honor Society but I did not use it to the highest extent that I could.

National Honor Society has been one of my top goals since my freshman year. When I found out that I could submit more information I was so ecstatic. I have wanted to be in National Honor Society for a long time because it will help me develop qualities and experiences that will last me a lifetime. A major quality and pillar of National Honor Society is leadership. Leadership to me equals sacrifices. People who sacrifice their time even when they don’t really have the time to sacrifice are good leaders in my opinion. I want to strive to be a good leader and apply leadership into National Honor Society.

The National Honor Society recognizes students with great academic progress and outstanding role out of school. The qualities of leadership, character, and service are built upon responsibility, cooperation, and dedication. I believe I show these qualities through my extracurricular activities and leadership opportunities. As a member of NHS, I want to support and inspire others.

Members of the National Honors society gracefully and diligently display four important characteristics during and after their induction. These individuals set examples to others through these important traits: scholarship, leadership, character, and service. All of these characteristics are very important and unable to be fully mastered without the other. But with everything, there is always a core or a center. This core of the traits is leadership. Leadership is unattainable without respect, charisma, compassion, and intelligence. A trait taught through the previous characteristics. But leadership is the base of it all, allowing an individual to put together amazing events and providing an opportunity to others through their actions. A

Throughout my high school career I have demonstrated the four pillars that the National Honor Society is built upon: scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

Leadership to me is about inspiring others and courageously carving a path of strength and perseverance; giving others a reason to confide in someone who is willing to take risks and withhold the security and motivation of a community. A leader must have great communication skills to clearly represent their ideas and goals, to support themselves and others, and to better reinforce the principles of the community. A leader must also be open minded to new concepts and opinions to broaden their understanding of the world, become a critical thinker, and solve problems from all perspectives. Furthermore, the ability to understand the needs of others is an extremely important characteristic for a leader. Empathy fortifies and transcends the relationship between a leader and their community, developing trust and comradery to a tremendous extent.
