1. During my experiment, as my lab partner and I added more sodium hydroxide, the pH level began to rise. As the pH level climbed, the solution began to have more precipitate. In the stomach the pH level is 2. As the food continues through the digestive tract, the pH rises. The small intestines have a pH of 8. During my experiment, once the solutions had reached a pH of 8 was when there was the most precipitate present. After caffeine had reached a pH of 8, the solution had solidified to the point it was no longer a liquid.
2. We absorb less than 15% of iron in our daily diets. Adding iron filings to foods would add additional iron to our diets providing more opportunity for our body to dissolve the iron. This increases the bioavailability. Iron also dissolves well in fructose-something commonly found in cereals. This provides a good environment for the

The added acid’s had many similar reactions to the original sample. After raising the pH of the iron solution from 2 to 8, a reaction began to occur. The color changed from a yellow to a dark red-orange color after the pH rose to 3. After the pH had reached 8 the color had turned to a green-blue. Color changes also happened after adding acid to the iron solution and then again adding sodium hydroxide. Precipitate also began to form in many of the substances. When the precipitate was formed, it means that a complex ion was not formed and the iron did not remain in the solution.
4. The substances that will have the greatest bioavailability will also have the least amount of precipitate. The more precipitate present, the smaller the chance the iron has to be absorbed. In this experiment the caffeine had the greatest amount of precipitate. This means that it has the smallest chance to be absorbed and the smallest bioavailability. However, many substances in this experiment such as Ascorbic Acid and Fructose had no precipitate form. This increases their chances for absorption, also increasing their
8. Sea salt, they say, contains iodide, but it is silly to pay more and get nothing extra for it. Sea salt is not better than table saltiodine leaves as a gas (sublimes from solid to gas form).
You can store them on the domain itself and I would say that this is the same as a PKI server because a PKI server has more of a hierarchal ladder of trust to verify users.
When the pH is not at its optimum, the differing pH's will disrupt the bonding between the R groups of the amino acid causing its structure and the shape of the activation site to change

Explain how the ecosystem was affected by the missing species for each round of the demonstration.
The number of electrons forming a charge cloud around the nucleus is (pick one of the following) greater than; equal to; smaller than the number of protons in the nucleus of the atom.
The mole is a convenient unit for analyzing chemical reactions. Avogadro’s number is equal to the mole. The mass of a mole of any compound or element is the mass in grams that corresponds to the molecular formula, also known as the atomic mass. In this experiment, you will observe the reaction of iron nails with a solution of copper (II) chloride and determine the number of moles involved in the reaction. You will determine the number of moles of copper produced in the reaction of iron and copper (II) chloride, determine the number of moles of iron used up in the reaction of iron and copper (II) chloride, determine the ratio of moles of iron to moles of copper, and determine the number of atoms and formula units involved in
The purpose of the lab was to determine the ratio of air to acetylene results in complete combustion of acetylene gas. The balanced chemical equation for this experiment was C2H2(g) + O2(g) --> CO2(g)+ H2O(l). Complete combustion is the reaction of an element or compound with oxygen to produce the most common oxides and energy. Complete combustion occurs when the fuel and oxygen combine in exact proportions to completely burn the fuel, which leaves a clean test tube. Incomplete combustion is the reaction of an element or compound with oxygen to produce some oxides with less oxygen than the most common oxides. Incomplete combustion occurs when there is not enough oxygen to react
The purpose of the “chi-square test” was to see if our data was in an acceptable range of a specific ratio listed above. The chi-square test took into account the expected deviations in the F2 offspring’s alleles.
“Enzymes are proteins that have catalytic functions” [1], “that speed up or slow down reactions”[2], “indispensable to maintenance and activity of life”[1]. They are each very specific, and will only work when a particular substrate fits in their active site. An active site is “a region on the surface of an enzyme where the substrate binds, and where the reaction occurs”[2].

Part 3 of the experiment utilized Spectrophotometry to determine the iron content in the iron (III) oxalate complex. The results were combined with findings from Part 1 and
Iron is one of the important minerals that is required for our bodies to function properly. Most of the iron in our body is found in the blood such as haemoglobin, approximately 60 -70% of the human body’s iron is found in the haemoglobin, a protein in the blood that transports oxygen. Iron is also present in muscle tissue and some enzymes. There are two types of iron in the body which are “Heme Iron” from animal products and “Non-Heme Iron” vegetables and
Carbohydrates are the product that made up from carbon, hydrogen and oxygen. Carbohydrates are form by the combination of carbon dioxide and water molecules. The carbohydrates contain two specific functional group in it which is the hydroxyl groups and carbonyl groups.A reducing sugar is a type of sugar with is an aldehyde group. This means that sugar can act as a reducing agent. The procces of reducing sugar is isomerisation, example of reducing sugar islactose, maltose, glucose and fructose. All monosaccharides are capable of reducing other chemicals such as copper (II) sulphate to copper oxide.Beside that disaccharides such as maltose and lactose are reducing sugar, however sucrose is non reducing
