Challenges:
I think the main challenge for small farmers using food hubs in the lower mainland is that without exporting, earning enough to sustain their operations and families is much more difficult. Canada exports more than half of our farmed products, and costs of exporting large distances (eg. Overseas) are cheaper than costs of delivering food locally. This causes increased prices that consumers may not want to pay when an imported product is available at a lower price in a large retailer.
I feel a large challenge in establishing a food hub in the Lower Mainland is the fact that so much of our ALR land is being used for monocrops that are mostly exported. Eg. Over 800 blueberry farms currently exist, and the majority of our blueberries
Kudler Fine Foods (KFF) is a specialty food company that is base in California and has stores located in Encinitas, Del Mar, and La Jolla, its main store. At the stores customers can purchase fine foods such as produce, meat, and other specialty items that they provide. Kudler Fine Foods is considered one of the best fine food stores around. However, Kudler is in serious need of a network infrastructure upgrade of their old one. With the introduction of technology advancements in data collection items such as; network access and increased speeds while still providing information protection; and company communication; are the primary goals of the enterprise network. This step is important because it will increase the income and will reduce the cost of operations within the KFF stores. Kudler Fine Foods will go back up to technological speed as the network upgrade is completed, while at the same time improving the way they keep track of inventory and sales by using data mining techniques, which will be collected and analyzed in real time.

* The largest demographic in Canada is that of the aging one. This has a wonderful impact on people who are perhaps too frail or too sick to go and get their own groceries, but still want home cooked meals. This alternative gives these types of people the freedom to continually eat fresh foods without having to go and physically get them. This system is also good for people who are time poor. People who work longs hours, have big families or who simply don’t care for the shopping experience will also utilize this method of obtaining good wholesome food. Also, many people in the Toronto area do not own a vehicle and they rely on the transits to go places, it is difficult to carry all of your groceries onto the transits and then walk them to your house.
However, Canada still needs skilled workers in the agricultural industry to ensure that farm products are being produced as efficiently as possible. An independently-owned farm is like any other independent business. Independent farm owners live in fear of the threat of big corporations that can steal their land or customers, just as a small-town automobile mechanic would fear a Canadian Tire opening down the street from his shop. Even so, as technology advances and Canada's economy changes, many farm owners struggle to justify the costs of their businesses. The looming threat of gigantic farming corporizations taking over the industry is only a small part of the problem.
The primary challenge that faces anyone wishing to create a more sustainable food system on Long Island is that of production capacity as it
Besides the environmental factors, another point would be that small farms benefit greatly when consumers buy locally grown foods. Small, locally owned farms

In this paper, I contend that the Libra Foundation promote food clusters in the state of Maine. First, I will examine the background of the Maine food industry, review the history of the Libra Foundation, and consider food clusters in Maine and successful ventures across the globe. Then, I will explore the critical issue of expanding food clusters in Maine to improve the agricultural economy. Next, I will analyze these core issues by discussing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats facing Libra and offer recommendations for the next steps forward for the Libra foundation. Finally, I will synthesize the overall problem facing the Libra Foundation and argue that for Libra to expand the vast good they have done for the Maine economy, they must lead a Maine food cluster movement whose main focus is to increase the production value and distribution of Maine foods.
When 95% of food is coming from outside, that means that a large amount of the state’s money is leaving the state. Out of the $2.5 billion that Alaskans spend on food each year, $1.9 billion is spent on outside food sources (ADN, 2013). From an economic perspective, it is important to note this because not only does that mean that close to no food is coming from Alaska, but that the majority of the money spent on food is also going outside which in turn creates a lacking local economy which then creates a difficult environment to sustain any local food markets. Environmentally speaking, it has been a concern among some of the amount of carbon emissions that is being produced in order to keep up with the shipping of 95% of food to the state (redoubt reporter, 2012). Finally, relying so much on outside food sources can have a large impact on the community. In 1955 only 55% of food was coming from outside and the state was in a much more stable and independent time. Now, not only is Alaska completely dependent on outside farms for 95% of food production but also on the cost of fuel. If there is ever a crisis where Alaska is isolated (even more so) from the lower 48 there would be a massive problem when it comes to food
As mention before, Restaurant Brands International is a merger company that contains Burger King, a coffee shop and a restaurant called Tim Hortons. Since it was a merger that occurred in 2014, there isn’t much info for the company; however, since Burger King has been almost as old as McDonalds so much of the info will come from Burger King. Burger King is practically the same as McDonalds created in 1950s yet a few years later after its competitor was born. The main difference of how it was created was that Burger King started off like a stove and that name of the stove was named Insta-Boiler.
A recent article uploaded on February 5, 2016 had featured Leesee Papatsie, a well- known activist in Iqaluit that started a Facebook group called “Feeding my Family.” She started this group to protest against high food prices and has been for over two and a half years (Zerehi, 2016). The pricing for perishable foods are already high as is. Now with the sinking loonie and drought in California that occurred in the middle of 2015, the price for food has yet again gone up immensely starting in the new year of 2016 (Zerehi, 2016). The Conference Board of Canada has five key areas to strategize for food security which are: food health and safety, household food security, industry prosperity and environmental sustainability. In January 2016, there

Transporting food to accessible locations is a large problem in Halifax. Out of approximately 4,000 farms in Nova Scotia, less than 200 are based in HRM. However, due to population dynamics, Halifax and Dartmouth
