During Thanksgiving Day many people are gather and have a dinner together, in that situation a lot of food are provided. In this situation a lot of foods are prepared from different ingredients; meat, poultry, shellfish, fruits and vegetables, various menu are being served. Moreover, if relatives come and brings food, that would make the menu on our dining room more diverse in terms of food preparation, storage, handling, and cooking. I believe each person or family may not have exact same way of preparing their meal, thus when all people from different background comes together the food would have certain distinction. In relation to that, for example, we may find relatives whose highly concern about hygiene, they must have been assure the
Thank you for your service! I admire your commitment to work full time and take college classes. I am a military brat and spent many years living on post. I have experienced not having a vehicle and walking to the exchange for both lunch and dinner. I also ate at the DFAC for many Thanksgiving Day dinners. Good luck this semester!

The pressures of your peers Peer pressure influences teens by making them feel like they don’t fit in with their own environment. Laurie Halse Anderson the author of “Speak” is saying peer pressure is dangerous and harmful to the person that is being pressured like Melinda she was pressured into going to the party and she ended up getting raped. Melinda was pressured to go to the party and to drink.(Halse). I have experienced peer pressure because i’ve had some of my friends try to get me to do drugs before.
Early one November morning a woman stared at me with utter disbelief, tears of gratitude streaming down her cheeks."Thank you," she mouthed silently to me, clutching her son to her chest. I was proud knowing that, because of my efforts, her family and many more who struggle with poverty would be able to share a Thanksgiving meal. I knew that many children in my community would not be able to celebrate the holiday as others might because their parents could not afford to buy food items, and so as Vice President of a community service club called Interact, I was inspired to provide these children with a Thanksgiving dinner. The club officers and I sat crowded around our adviser's desk brainstorming how we would collect ingredients. We decided
As we live in a multi-cultural society, the food we eat may differ. This will make us experience different taste of food and the way it is prepared form all cultures. Also there are some countries that have very nutritious fruits and vegetables and by tasting different varieties of foods will help to balance out our diet and we may get different nutrients from the food. There are Indian, African, English and Chinese restaurants that we can eat from. Health and social care providers will also get the opportunity to know what kind of food different religions eat and what they don’t. For example, they will know that Muslims don’t eat pork so when they are preparing their meals they won’t add pork or anything that has traces of pork in
Sharon outlines some of the dishes that Tom’s family prepares for them and then states that whatever food that her family would have would be much spicier and there would also be foods like macaroni and cheese and collard greens (DeWolf & Morgan, 2012). Food is an easy and effective way of sharing culture because of the “deep history and meaning rooted into the gathering, preparation, and serving of food” (A Taste of China, 2018). This being said, a cultural similarity that came of this experience is that food is an integral part of both Tom and Sharon’s respective cultures and most other cultures as well. Food is a way for people who come from differing cultures to unite and learn about each

In a home with residents from different countries, adapt menus to include foods from those countries, making the residents feel valued as individuals.
Every culture has a unique way of eating a typical meal with a family. They can differ in ways like the amount of meals per day, timing of those meals, what is the proper etiquette at the table, who is present, if there is a certain structure or hierarchy, who cooks the meal, who cleans afterward, and many more. In this essay the family the meal structure of people in West Africa will be compared and contrasted to that of the people from Mexico. The first group of people to be analyzed are the people from West Africa. The people of West Africa used to typically eat two meals day, one in the late morning and one at night.
In order to make this perfect meal for Thanksgiving I am going to need the following dishes. Obviously I am going to need a Ham or turkey because it isn't thanksgivng without the main meat dish. Then we are going to need some traditional stuffing along with some Potatoes. Usually we have Rolls and Little Sausages at our thanksgiving. Then we our own reciped Green Bean Casorole. You can;t have any potatoes if you don't have some gravy on them as well as some corn and beans! Of co
When November the 21st hits the calendar, everyone is up for the start. Grocery stores are packed with a whole bunch of people, shopping carts are filled with harvests and the cashiers’ lines are long. But, that’s just the start of grocery shopping which, everyone hates because we’re quite impatient. The best and fun part of Thanksgiving is preparing the food and eating it. For every Thanksgiving, my mom and I and other people within my culture prepare “Soul food”. Soul food includes a variety of different meals, like cheesy baked macaroni, sweet, cinnamon candy yams, rotisserie turkey and more. Many people don’t know a lot about Soul food “until you take a yellow school bus through the African American culture”.
Walking out of the front door sights of yellow, orange, and bright red autumn leaves flow in the wind like tiny dancers. The feeling of warm air and smells like hot apple cider symbolizing a new season and new traditions. Many people have different memories from their fall traditions that will teach future generations to come. Traditions are very important in society. Regardless of race or religion, all parts of the world follow many diverse traditions, such as Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is one of America's most treasured holidays and traditions. While there are some constants in the way we observe the day, it can mean different things to different people. As part of my human experience, my family and I celebrate the holiday of harvest and
Eating brings people closer together everyday, and for everyone, there are important memories that have been created because of food. Whether it’s a formal dinner, or an informal picnic, there will always be special bonds between people because food was involved. We need to have traditions with food because they form and strengthen the bonds between us.
When families eat at home they know everything that has been added in their meal and know the cleanliness of their own kitchen. Moreover, they know if the food was washed and cooked well. At home they know that the cook has washed his/her hands. Also at
For many people in Thailand today, food has become a very important aspect of any holiday celebration and special occasions. In the American western cuisine today, a regular restaurant quality meal consists of appetizers, followed by the main course, and ends with a serving of dessert, where each person would order his or her own food. In Thailand it’s the complete opposite to the American cuisine where they would never have any structure in their meals like beginning with appetizers and ending with dessert. In Thai cuisine the number of dishes is based on the number of people there are around the table, so for example if there are ten people, then ten dishes would be order. One interesting aspect about Thai cuisine is that everyone sitting around the table would equally share their food, so that no one would get stuck with eating the same plate of food, everyone gets the opportunity to enjoy the unique flavors of all the different dishes. The main reason that the Thais share their food is because they believe that it is bad luck for them to eat alone and they see that each meal is a big celebration of social and friendly interactions.
