The main character in “ A Good Man Is Hard To Find” by Flannery O’Connor is the grandmother. She is described to be selfish and self centered as well as a liar. The Grandmother is mostly a flat character because throughout the story she never changes and she constantly tries to manipulate other characters all throughout the story until the very end when she begins to sympathize with the misfit and actually become a good woman then she becomes a dynamic character. Throughout the story she shows signs of being self centered and a liar when she brings the cat after being told not to, tries to get her son to go to Tennessee instead of Florida so that she can visit some people, and her efforts not to get herself shot and killed despite her family
