There are many different types of desserts, they come from all around the world in various shapes, sizes, and flavors. These desserts come from distinct recipes that vary. Ever since I can remember, my mom always made flan for parties or special occasions. Flan is a popular dessert in Mexico that varies in flavor and ingredients. People add distinct ingredients that makes their flan unique. I have tasted various flans, and it all depends on who makes it and how they make it. I always wondered how she properly made it and what it incorporated but never tried making it myself. It is my mom’s favorite dessert, and she enjoys preparing it. About a week ago, I made flan. Initially, I gathered and bought the specific ingredients and supplies I …show more content…
I took the flower mold from the counter and placed it on the center of the stove top. I turned the stove dial to low heat, so it would not be too hot or the process would not work properly. I also grabbed the sugar from the counter and poured just enough to cover the bottom of the mold. The white sugar worked better because the brown would require another specific process. With a wooden spoon, I stirred the sugar evenly until it completely melted and was dark brown. The bottom of the mold needed to be completely covered, so it would be the glaze for the flan. The sugar needed to be stirred for ten minutes because I had to make sure there were no lumps left, and I knew it was ready when I could smell the aroma of caramelized sugar. It was important that I cautiously stir the sugar because it could have caused a severe burn. While I mixed the actual flan, I placed the mold to the side and let it dry for about ten minutes. Using the blender, I added vanilla extract instead of vanilla beans because it is easier to work with, and it is liquid. The next thing I added were the two cans of evaporated and condensed milk into the blender. This specific type of milk worked best because it gave the flan the right consistency. This type of milk was thicker than the other ones, and it made the flan creamier. Carefully, I cracked the eggs over the blender so no egg shells would go inside. The egg shells would ruin the consistency of the flan, …show more content…
After letting the flan cool for one night, it was ready to be taken out of the mold and decorated. Cooling it allowed the flan to solidify, so it would not melt. I took the flan out of the mold by placing one hand on the bottom and another on the top and flipped it over. The top of the flan was golden brown and the bottom a cream color. I placed it on glass tray, so it would look presentable. The sugar that I caramelized was on top, and it looked like a glaze. I took the fruit out of the fridge and carefully cut the tops off the strawberries because I did not need those. I placed the topless strawberries in a bowl and washed them in the sink and made sure I washed them carefully. I set them on a paper towel on a plate and repeated the process for the blueberries. After I took the strawberries and blueberries that were drying on the paper towel and prepared them to decorate the flan. I took a strawberry and cut slits around it with a knife, so it would resemble a flower. I placed it in the center of the flan, and one at a time I set the blueberries around the flan on the edges. There were different methods to decorating it, but this was the one I liked best. Finally, it was ready to be
My name is Takesha Wright, I am the GAL assigned to Ethan Knotts-Campbell. I understand you've been assigned as GAL for Ethan's mother, Tennetta Knotts. Do you know if she is attending treatment and or parenting classes? If so, where and how does she feel this is going? Thanks in advance.
water, 2 tsp. coconut oil, about 15 drops essential oil, and a few drops of food coloring (depending on the color I wanted), ¼ cup Epsom salt, 5 bowls, and molds to put the mixture into. To create the different halves, I took half of each ingredient into separate bowls and added either ¼ cup lime juice or ¼ cup citric acid. First, I combined the baking soda, corn starch, and Epsom salt into a bowl. If I was using the citric acid, I combined that into the same bowl. Next, I combined my water, coconut oil, essential oil (optional), and food coloring (optional) into a different bowl. If I was using the lime juice instead of the citric acid, I would combine it into this bowl. It is very important you keep your wet and dry ingredients separate. Then, I slowly put a few drops of the wet mixture into the dry mixture and stirred. You want to put a few drops, then stir; add a few more, and stir again. You must do this step slowly to prevent any reactions happening between the citric acid and the baking soda. During this step, I discovered that the side with lime juice was much moister than the other side with citric acid. This made it difficult to mold the halves together because a slight reaction was occurring when I put them together. Next, I put the different mixtures into half a mold and stuck the halves together into the freezer for 2 hours. Then, I took the bath bomb and put it into a bowl full of warm water. Finally, I watched the reaction and recorded my
Clendinnen explains why the captor wore the victim’s chalk and down of his kin and why he cried for the victim. She says that the captor did this because the captive was going to die a lonely death among strangers, since he was from outside Tenochtitlan. Even though, the captor’s kin ate from the captive, the captor didn’t do so, because he said he wouldn’t eat “his own flesh” since he too would probably die on the stone and others will eat his flesh in another city. Also, she interprets that the Aztecs didn’t necessarily believe that their were killing the warrior as he was before the rituals. Instead, all the preparation that had gone into this day, from the cutting of the warrior lock to the mock heart excisions, had made him more sacred, and changed him from a warrior into a victim. Once the warrior lock of hair was cut, it was believed that the warrior made his
The Republic of Fultzan is a huge, socially progressive nation, renowned for its anti-smoking policies, ubiquitous missile silos, and devotion to social welfare. The democratic population of 466 million Fultzanians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.
Hello, Aaron! There is a couple of interesting things that I thought I should add to your post about Dan Flavin:
So green apple is green, grapes are purple, cherries are red, oranges are orange, and lemons are yellow. Then I stirred it until it looked good. Then I poured each mixture into their own small pans, make sure they are not glass pans because they will break. Then put the pans into a freezer and wait 4-5 hours or until mixtures are frozen. Then break them into smaller pieces about a nickel's size and put the pieces into the microwave and wait 40 seconds and it should be melted. Now they let the pieces cool and then roll them into balls, and then dipped it into tartaric acid. Let the balls harden.
The techniques in this recipe are extremely simple, requiring only a pot, a heat source, preferably a stove, and a cooling area. Water and sugar are brought to a boil. Once they are boiling, the cranberries are added, and heated until they explode. Then, they are cooled to form a gelatinized dish. Although it takes three hours to make, the process itself is not difficult.
I just came back from Mexico and I have an awesome recipe for you: Flan de tres leches, flan of tres leches means “caramel creme” we are using three types of different milks; regular milk, evaporated milk, and condensed milk. It's different from regular flan this one is a little thicker. We are also going to flavor it with vanilla extract, and cookies! It's going to be delicious, you can of course flavor it with different types of extract. For example, almond extract, cinnamon extract, etc. I got this recipe from my grandma who makes delicious flan to die for!
High scorer is said to be an "extrovert". You are energized by socialization and you value stimulation. You have positive attitude, are assertive, self-confident, enthusiastic, desire to learn and understand, more likely to socialize, but you are poor in reflective problem solving.
I made “Wanton Love” using clay. I used the slab building technique for the top and bottom pastry part. For the pistachio cram, I used an extruder (similar to one you would find in a play dough box).
Before you begin, always wash your hands. First we begin by blending with the wooden spoon, in one of the large bowls the brown sugar and the one-cup white sugar. Soften the margarine or butter in the microwavable bowl in the microwave for fifteen seconds. After you add the margarine to the sugar, mix them together. Add the peanut butter to the batter then mix again. In the small cup crack each egg separately, and add the yolk part to the batter and stir. Set the mixture aside for the time being. In the other large bowl measure out and sift the flour, baking soda, and salt. Once sifted together, carefully add to the sugar and butter mixture. Blend together carefully. It may take a little elbow grease. Once completely blended, add the vanilla and stir till it is mixed on. The hard part is now over. Make sure that there are no lumps of sugar, pieces of eggshell, and clumps of baking soda. Nobody wants to bite into those! From the batter, scoop out a teaspoon size amount out and roll in your hands until it looks like a sphere. Roll it again, but this time, roll it around in 1/2 cup of white sugar until completely coated. Once achieved, place on the baking sheet. Continue this process of shaping the cookie until twelve and been formed and are two inches apart from each other on the cookie sheet. Take the fork and gently press two fork prints on each cookie, one
Closure can be defined as a way of coming to terms with something that has happened. A certain something that can be seen as torturous, taunting, and sometimes even deadly. As a therapist, I have patients every day who are in search of anything that comes close to healing their wounds. Even though it may seem simple to someone looking at the situation from the outside, it is the complete opposite for a victim on the inside.
In order to make sugar crystals you will need the following supplies; 1 cup of water, 3 cups of table sugar, a clean glass jar, a pencil or butter knife, sting or yarn (do not use nylon string), a pan, a spoon, and food coloring. The first step into making these tasty treats is to tie a string to your pencil or butter knife. Make sure that your string does not touch the bottom or sides of the jar in order for this experiment to work. You can begin to boil water in the pan once your instructor has confirmed that you are ready. Once the water begins to boil, stir in one spoonful of sugar at a time. You want to make sure that you have a lot sugar in the solution but not too
Start by lining the two mini muffin pans with mini muffin liners. In a food processor, combine the peanut butter, coconut oil, vanilla, sea salt and cinnamon. Blend it until smooth, tasting and adjusting the sweetness with stevia or sugar. If you want, you can transfer it to a small bowl. Melt the dark chocolate in a double broiler, and pour it in a clean squeeze bottle. Squeeze approximately 1 teaspoon of chocolate into each cup. Tilt the fan so the chocolate evenly coats the bottom of every cup. Put the pans in the freezer for about 5 minutes, or until the chocolate
Plarn is what the SCA is making in ODC/Kempslanding school. Plarn is "plastic yarn" made out of plastic bags. Put together will be plarn. The SCA is using plarn to weave into blankets and they will deliver it to homeless people on the streets. That's double! So donate plastic bags to the SCA if you want to help your environment and community. The cardboard box can be located in the 3rd grade hallway (I'm not sure). Now please please please
