How far do you believe the medium, and the action that is associated with him, is a figment of Krishna’s grieving imagination? In this essay I will highlight the techniques used to present an in proportion perspective about the belief of the medium, and the action that is associated with him which suggests to the reader it’s a figment of Krishna’s grieving imagination. During Krishna’s second visit to the mediums house, he asks Susila if she remembers their child’s name. The quotation ‘The pencil wrote: ‘Yes, Radha.’ This was disappointing.’ This personification of the pencil is expressing their lack of control over what is occurring during the messages journey to reach Susila. The child was the reason for them both to prevent arguments the child would be an excuse so Krishna may be worried things will change now she forgets her name. The fact that the medium returns with a false answer indicates this is Krishna trying to keep hold of the only bit of hope he has left in contacting Susila and how much he is mentally imagining it. Much like on films we see when characters are thirsty they start chasing after water that isn't there and its just a figment of their imagination. …show more content…

Krishna is determined to speak to Susila. Death is associated with black and loneliness much relating to how Krishna is presently feeling like. The medium could've actually found her true spirit. The quotation ‘She watches over them and prays for their welfare’ connotes how she is still there and can view things from a different perspective, from above with is associated with a higher role of authority. It also expresses how she has gone to heaven which reflects her life and intentions. Krishna could feel her present with in him and this could be her spirit. On his fourth visit Susila informs Krishna that Leela goes to school which was true and Krishna was unaware of this which dances in his mind it must be
