The federal government is the level of government which governs our nation as a whole. The federal government affects all 50 states, in other words, all Americans. Those in power of the federal government are the branches of the executive (President), legislative (Congress), and judicial systems (Supreme Court). Federal taxes are collected to support federal programs. For example, when congress passed the tax plan a month ago, the decrease in taxes will benefit most Americans. It is important for young people to understand it takes tax dollars for federal programs to operate. For example, Upward Bound Trio is a federal program that provides offerings to high school induvial with low income. However, the state government takes control of their
The federal government puts tax on everything, this allows them to take a percentage of our money away from us and use it for the country. Right now the US in debt and can’t afford to run this country alone. They use our money for several things everyday. However, there are limits to what the can tax such as; they can not tax Church services because it goes against our first ammendment right.
The concept of federalism centers around the state and federal government dividing and sharing powers. James Madison wrote in Federalist Paper #51 that under the Constitution, “The different governments will control each other, at the same time that each will be controlled by itself”(Doc A). The reason the framers of the Constitution put Federalism into practice was to prevent the Central Government from having all of the power, thus preventing a tyranny. Most of the central government’s sole powers have to do with foreign affairs, such as trade, war, immigration, and the military(Doc A). The states have the power to decide local laws and set up local governments and schools(Doc A).
Everywhere you look or go, there are no smoking signs and laws that are put in place to prevent one from smoking , whether it’s the restaurants, schools, government buildings or one’s own home. In fact it’s one of the most controversial topics discussed in today’s society and although they have been put in place to protect the health of everyone, many smokers believe that smoking laws are unconstitutional. The United State is made up of three branches of government. They are legislative, Executive, and Judicial branch. Each branch has an important job to do, the legislative make the laws, the executive

The public officials representing Michigan are a diverse group of people. Prior to completing the Michigan Officials journals I thought majority of Michigan officials were Caucasian wealthy republican men. My research for the public official journals allowed me to see that wasn’t the case. Throughout my research I’ve learned about different positions of U.S and Michigan government and how each role works together to create a successful government.
The federal government has a multitude of programs all requiring continuous review to ensure efficiency. Americans do not have to search far to find examples of government fraud, waste, and abuse. The federal deficit crisis makes any examples of program waste unacceptable. A program review process needs to have clear value criteria and allow for itemized reductions to gain efficiency without losing effectiveness. There are several alternatives to federal program efficiencies including empowerment to state governments, consolidation of duplicate programs, privatization, and straight up elimination of non-value added activities. I have selected three recommended domestic programs for adjustment. The recommendations are to provide a pathway to citizenship for undocumented immigrants, require states to cover 1/4th of the cost for food stamps, and reduce the cost of the federal workforce. Impact of implementing these recommendations is a total of $520 billion to debt reduction.
A federal government is one in which the powers of government are divided between a central government and several local governments. An authority superior to both the central and local governments makes this division of powers on a geographic basis; and that division cannot be changed by either the local or national level acting alone. Both levels of government act directly on the people through their own sets of laws, officials, and agencies. A great advantage of this system is that it has a strong federal unity, and the government can actually handle local problems. The government officials also have to respond to the people who elect them, limiting the power to only the government. It can also devote more time to national and international problems as well. The people have more power in this system! Then again a system always has disadvantages too. Like the fact that there are duplications of services, and citizens living in different parts of the country will be treated differently, like what is taught in the schools and in deciding where highways and government projects are to be built.
Federalism guards against tyranny by dividing the power between into two places, the state, and the central government. The state gets powers such as, establish schools, regulate in-state businesses, and hold elections. The state is the local government and it deals with local problems that don’t affect the whole nation. The central government does national situations that would affect the whole country or are international. For example, some of
Federalism is the division of power between the national legislature and the state legislatures. It helps maintain power over who wants to control what section each legislature or government wants to take a participation in. Some topics, such as gun control, marijuana and same sex marriage, are large debatable topics that both governments have to discuss whether or not it is helpful for the citizens in a certain state and who should have that particular power. Both the powers are important to maintain any unresolved issues. Since the government is a delegated power, it only has the powers the constitution provides for the government. The Federal Government only has three sections of sub powers from the delegated power; expressed powers,
In the Unites States of America Federalism is the basic structure of the American government; it is the distribution and balance of powers between the National government and the States government. In order to obtain a compromise between those who wanted stronger state government and those who preferred a stronger national government the founding fathers arranged and settled for a federal system rather than the alternatives of a unitary or confederal system. While both National and State governments each have specific powers and authority, they also share certain powers and must be able to cooperate effectively with each other.
The United States government is the federal government of the America’s fifty states, as well as one capital district, and several other territories. The federal government is composed of three distinct branches: legislative, executive, and judicial, whose powers are settled by the U.S. Constitution in Congress, our President, and the federal courts (including the Supreme Court). The powers of these branches are defined by acts of Congress, including the creation of the executive departments and of the courts secondary to the Supreme Court.
It’s really quite hard to have achieved impeccable, and stable government, it took a while for us to get it right. Maybe it is impossible, but whatever it is that Europe, Canada, China, Japan, and us Americans seem to be doing at least works pretty well. Albeit, that isn’t always the case. For example, just take a good look at North Korea, I wouldn’t intrust Kim Jong-un with anything, need it be watching $20 for an hour, or let alone an entire government. So here you are, "Catch! it's a government seed. The last one of them all! your incharge of the last of the government seeds, and government trees are what everyone needs. Plant a new government, treat it with care. Give it clean water, and feed it fresh air, Grow a new system, protect it from politicians that hack. Then your government leader, and all of his friends, will come back”.
The United States is comprised of Federal and State governments. The Federal Government is located in the District of Columbia where it is
Federalism is a system of government that divides power between a national government and a regional government with the use of a constitution. Throughout the United States history, federalism has played a significant role in the constitution and the system of government adopted by the United States of America. Federalism has also changed throughout the course of America's history to fit the constitution and the government.
