Fear and evil are both emotions that can cause distress on oneself and on others. Characters in all novels and films face fear and evil and may even cause fear or evil.. The character, Piggy, of Lord of the flies constantly faces the evil of his peer, Jack Merridew. He experiences a form of segregation, he is an outsider, and he is often bullied by others, especially Jack. According to Psychology Today, there is a fight-flight-freeze response that can be applied to the character, Morty. He is physically weak, which means he is unable to fight in most situations and he is not very athletic, so that only leaves the “freeze” response. In situations such as this, one would be struck with “panic, horror, dread,” and incredible anxiety, all of which are easily associated with Morty.
