Do you see a problem in the world? Do you have the passion to change it? If you have heard the term, ‘teen activism,’ the definition of it is “Youth activism is youth engagement in community organizing for social change.” There have been many times when people have wanted to change the world (or, in other words, was an activist.) You may know Faye Carey or Bianca V. These teenagers are activists who saw a problem that they could change and made huge differences. Their cause was animal abandonment. In this text, you will see what they did to make a difference outside their community, or even country. Faye Carey You have probably gone to a pound with so many dogs waiting to be adopted, or seen stray animals left on the side of the road. Faye saw this issue, and her compassion made her start looking into it deeper, and ended up helping dogs way outside of her community. One of the most significant things that Faye Carey did was she advertised many dogs, and many of them were adopted. Another thing that Faye Carey did to help dogs is that she used Facebook as a free way to advertise dogs and kittens. In fact, the article, “Pet abandonment: Faye Carey,” illustrates, “She has set up a Facebook page, Animal Re-home Waikato, where she advertises puppies and dogs who need adopting.” The author later states, “The Facebook page is successful because it has almost 300 likes, and has won many hearts.” I think that the Facebook page was a good idea is because the website is world wide, and many people use it.
