How big of an impact can depend on the condition and severity of the learning disability, as well as the families physical and emotional state, including taking into account their financial situation and what resources are available to

Samantha Abeel’s memoir My Thirteenth Winter is a prodigious example of how a learning diablility can affect someone’s life. “You have a learing diability? But you can’t be learning diabled. . . . .I mean. . . . . you don’t look it at all!”Many teachers like in the sentence above don’t know or understand the enormity of what a learning disability is.When she started kindergarten she knew something was wrong. She was different from everyone else. She couldn’t tell time or remember her schedule.she slowly started to fall behind in school.Causing her feelings to be formidable about it.Her learning disability caused her aloofness to increase,as she gradually became less closer to her friends and family.Since she was a savent in most classes especially

Growing up with two siblings who are both handicapped has influenced me most as a person and student. My older sister Alex, who is 31, has cerebral palsy which impairs her both mentally and physically. This disability leaves her unable to care for herself and makes it hard to accomplish the most basic tasks that some take for granted like eating a meal or holding a conversation. My younger brother Harry, age 27, was diagnosed with severe learning disability as a child. He lives in Boston and works a part time job (stop and shop) but is heavily dependent on my parents to support him. Additionally, his potential for higher learning and employment is bleak.
Do you know anyone who suffers from a learning disability? There are several disabilities out there, so chances are you must know someone who battles with the day-to-day hassles. But, are learning disabilities really a hassle? More often than not, this can be considered a misconception. Learning disabilities (LD) affect the way a person “of at least average intelligence receives, stores, and processes information” (NCLD 2001). This neurological disorder prevents children especially from being able to perform well academically. Therefore more time and special programs are fostered to them. Once one is educated about what the disability means, the causes of LD, what programs are available to

Living with a learning disability you always feel separated. I can remember comparing myself to others. Wondering when will I be smart like everyone else. In this life everyone wants to feel like they are succeeding. No one wants to feel like they are the weakest link. Each grade I went through I was supposed to build me up for the next grade. I remember the actually feeling when I know I was no longer learning and growing. That when I stop gaining self-assurance and started feeling low self-esteem building.

Firstly, it is interesting the concept of a learning disability individuals think of immediately which is a dysfunction of the human brain not quite working correctly. Learning disabilities unfortunately come in all shapes and sizes; they do not end with human beings but can extend into an organization as well. Organizational learning disabilities are flaws such as lack of communication or a bridge in the gap which some type of operational system is not quite working properly. In addition, the thought of a Fortune 500 company having a learning disability is hard to grasp because of the success that they measure at. To be more specific Walmart is known to be the large corporation the world. According to the Fortune 500 organization, Walmart was ranked number one for the largest and highest net worth out of all corporations. But even the largest and the most “successful” companies have its flaws. After all, how do organizations learn if mistakes do not occur? It is obvious when walking into a Walmart store, regardless of the location, there seems to be a few concerning issues that involve both the employees and the customers. Walmart leadership seem be lacking communication as they choose not to hear the screaming cries of their very own employees. Because of Walmart’s efforts to save money by paying low salaries and under staffing their super stores it has led to poor employee satisfaction, not to mention the unfavorable ratings are trickling down to its customers.
